Hold That Thought!!!!!!

No. it isn't me jumping out of a box lol xxx
Although come to think if it, there is a resemblance :(

No, this is the image I decided to use for this week's Papertake Weekly.

She / he (ooohh I wasn't going to look too closely!!) is the High Hopes Party Hippo and I think this image is just awesome!! You could use it for male or female cards I think and this is one image I will use again.

I used the good old bad boys - no bling or punches though (shock horror!!) and I quite like the result :)

You can get the image and a mahoosive range of PMs from the wonderful Tracy over at Dies To Die For.

So our challenge this week is a sketch .....

... this one.
Not like me to use round elements but a change is a good as a rest!!

And this is the old cardio.

I used my very fave ribbon which I got from my wonderful pal in the jolly old US of A xxxx
I don't think I will never ever tire of using it or looking at it :)

The papers are a mixture of Pink Petticoat's FAB Fairy Dots and Funky Fairy Gingham. The sentiment which you can just about see is one I use quite a bit, but I don't know where it came from!!!

And an arty farty angle to finish.

Just a quick post today peeps cos I am literally up to me bits in it here with work and other stuff. But I just had to share this with you.

Kyla came into our bedroom the other morning and spied a pair of shoes I'd worn the night before but hadn't yet put away (tut tut!!). Well the child is totally obsessed with shoes so off came her slippers and on went my shoes. She calls them clippy cloppies and off she went to the bathroom in them cos there is a stone floor in there and they make loads of noise (**%$**&!!)

She eventually came back to our room and said 'Grandma, I really love these clippy cloppies'. 'That's good', I tell her, 'so do I'. She then says 'Grandma, when you die, can I have these shoes please? So I had a little snigger then said very solemnly that she could. There was a little pause and then she said 'Grandma, when are you going to die?'

Waaaaahhhh, we roared laughing!!!
You couldn't make then up could you. There is never a dull moment with her!!!

So on that note, I'll love you and leave you. Have a great day and see you soon and if you get a sec, don't forget to check out the challenge - there's a fab prize up for grabs plus some awesome cardage to share.

Hugs to all xxx

New Tilda-Tastic Beginnings :)

Hi chickadees and I hope that everyone is managing to stay warm and dry in this snowy weather. Best stay in amd make lots of cards I reckon lol xxx

Well it's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Papertake Weekly challenge and this week it's all about New Beginnings. And we have a new sponsor as well, Tracey from the Stamping Boutique.

You can either make a card for a new event or you can use something new from your stash. I chose to use something new and this gorgeous Tilda was a prezzie from my lovely pal Marcea (thank you sweet girlie xxx)

I coloured Tilda with the usual PMs and this time there is a sprinkling of Glamour Dust, mainly on her frilly bits lol!!

Tracy at Dies To Die For has some gorgeous Magnolia products plus a fab range of Pro Markers as well :)

The pink stripey paper was another 'tidying up the craft room find' and once agaoin Ii have no clue where it came from or who it's by. It's quite pretty though, as is the Pink Petticoat Stripes paper which I used to make the black and white edging. Liz has a fab sale on at the mo - half price on selected downloads so check it out if you get a sec!!

The old faithful doily edge punch was given an airing as well.
You didn't think I'd forgotten about it did you!!!!!

And that gorge ribbon was from my lovely pal in the US.
It's still my fave!!!

I used a bit of Funky Fairy gingham paper as well.

And that's the old card done.

Poor Emma broke down this morning - or rather her car did!!! We're just about go out and try and sort it and we are hoping it's nothing more than a flat battery. Luckily it happened as she was dropping Kyla off at nursery and we were just down the road to go and collect her. So on that note, I'm off to get me wellies on and wade through the piddly half a centimetre of snow that we have here and see what we can do with it.

Have the fabbiest of days and see you soon if not sooner.

Hugs to all xxx

A Little Christmas Magic :)x

I can't believe how quickly this week has gone. It only seems like a day or so ago when I did the Masking Ma-Tilda post.

I wonder if Leann is still singing it? :)))x

I have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who e-mailed and left comments re my blank page thing yesterday - all very helpful and I am looking to get it sorted - I so appreciate your help lovely peeps xxxx

So it is Friday, the weekend is very nearly here and its time for another awesomely fab challenge over at Just Magnolia. This week it is a beautiful sketch by the loveliness that is Martine .....

And it's this one here. The DT girlies have as always produced some absolute stunners which are sure to inspire you so nip over if you get a sec and check it all out.

So this is my take on the sketch.

I was obviously still in 'masking' mode and these are 2 of the stamps I got from the NEC. But at least Tilda won't get her feet burned sitting on that gorgeous envelope (unlike the fireplace!!)

As always, I coloured her with the old PMs and Glamour Dust combi, and don't forget that you can get your very own bad boys from Tracy at Dies To Die For (as well as some Magnolia-tastic goodies)

The white centre panel has been Cuttlebugged with a Swiss Dots folder, and the brads are Basic Grey which I got from Simon Says Stamp.

The teeny sentiment is from the Pink Petticoat Tiny Tags Collection (have you seen the new Frilly Millies - gorgeous!!) and the ribbon is from a local floristry warehouse

The poinsettia is from Poppicrafts.

Oh yes, the doily punch is back (thank you Martha Stewart!!) and the papers are Funky Fairy's gingham and Liz's PP Stripes.

And that's the old card done!!!.

We are in prezzie wrapping mode today in an attempt to try and get a bit organised ready for Santa's visit!!! It won't work of course and on 24th at 11.30pm no doubt we will still be at it, but it's a start.

I so envy those peeps who serenely glide towards Christmas, with their prezzies bought and wrapped by October, the food all ordered everything sorted in loads of time. Me, I fly by the seat of me pants and I don't glide, I don't even jog towards it.

No, I run at full pelt shouting 'wait for me'!!

It's part of my scatty-ness I suppose and we always get through it without too many disasters (drunk drivers and thieving toe rags not withstanding - full story is here).

So Emma is on holiday today and Kyla's giftage is all out - as is Kyla, which his why we are doing it - as is the paper and then once it's done, it can all go away ready for the fat lad with the beard (no, not Richard, he doesn't have a beard chicksies, and don't feel sorry for him cos you should hear what he says about me lol xxx).

So on that note, I'm off to get some work done and then I can get stuck in and get wrapping.

Have a fab day peeps and see you soon if not sooner.

Huggiest of hugs xxxx

Faux Anya + My First Tiara :)

Hi peeps and I hope you are all having a fab Sunday.

Over at Anyone For Anya, we want you to Make A Fake for our challenge and the DT have some awesome cards to share. If you get a sec, nip over and have a mooch.

So I used Miss Rainy Anya - how fitting considering this rotten weather we are having and if anyone is reading this from Cockermouth or indeed Cumbria, I do hope that all is well and you are not one of the poor souls flooded out xxx

I coloured Mss A with the usual suspects and I've also given her lurex socks and glittery eye shadow which you might just be able to see.

My cheaty fake bits were the ribbon, lace (MSBP - 2 of) and the stitching.

The gingham paper is Funky Fairy and the image was from Dies To Die For. You can also get your Pro Markers plus a whole heap of other goodies from Tracy AND there is a special TGF stamps offer which you can see here, as well as a mega winter sale :)))x.

The blinged up blooms were all from Simon Says Stamp and the buttons were from my stash.

I coloured some stretch twine with a black PM and curled it round a cocktail stick again like I did on my Just Magnolia card in the last post.

You can see both the border punches here - bless Martha Stewart lol xxx

Add a bit of dimension and there you go!!!

So I went and made me a tiara yesterday, but poor Nik was unwell so she couldn't go. I really enjoyed the class and as promised, I took a pic. .....

.... what do ya think?

It might have look a bit better had I not have sat it over the join of the 2 sheets of white card I use for me pics - dope!!!! But it hasn't come out too bad for a first attempt and this is the very first tiara I've ever had in my entire life (ahh, sad isn't it - such a classy girl!!).

We could pick our own colours and I went for black and clear crystal and some pearls - all Svarowski and very very gorgeous. But I can see why these things cost because there is so much work in them. My poor hands and fingers are sore this morning from all the wire twisting and wrapping.

Now all I have to do is go somewhere where I can wear it!!
Sadly, I have a feeling that it will be in my wardrobe for quite a while before that happens unless I wear it with me pinnie while I'm cooking the Chrizzie dinner :)xx

And you know, I just might do that after a sherry or 3 lol xxx

Kyla fell in love with it!!
She is going to see the Disney Princess Ice Show with one of her little pals so she asked me if I can make them one each so they could be princesses (bless!!) Of course, I said yes (but not with crystals and me best pearls I won't!!).

On that note, I'm off to organise Sunday lunch.
Have a fab day and see you soon chickadees xxx

It's a Cover Up :(x

Yes, we managed to get ink all over the card - about 10 minutes before I was due to do the Anyone For Anya Post!!!! So a state of emergency was declared here at the sty and I had to get me thinking cap on really quick. I'll show you in a sec.

So over at Anyone For Anya this week, we thought we'd have a 'Your Anya' challenge so we had to use the image which best summed us up.

Now I have to say that had I had the Laundry Anya, I would have used that image cos it seems to me that my head is always in the washine machine either putting stuff in or taking it out.

But sadly I aint got it.

She is available though at Dies To Die For and had I been a bit more organised (ha!!!), I would have ordered her.

So I thought l'd use the Snow Anya cos I am a winter girl - love the snow, love the dark nights (yes, it is a bit strange I know) and love cosying up to a nice roaring fire.

So here's me card.

I coloured Miss A in with PMs and there is some Glamour Dust on the furry bits.

I also got the Flower Soft out again and made some nice crunchy snow for her to stand on. I'm getting obsessed with that stuff lol xxx

I made a little charm.

The snowflake charm was either from Bunny Zoes or Simon Says Stamp. Sorry I cannot for the life of me remember which one this was from, but they are available at both these places.

I know where the papers were from though. The stripey grey and pink snowflake papers were from the fab Pink Petticoat and the grey gingham was from Funky Fairy

Here's the cover up.

I'd been inking something else, had a bit of BLACK ink on my hand which I hadn't noticed, picked up this card and ended up with a ruddy splodge of ink down the side of the image. This was not a happy accident - I was very unhappy I can tell you.

So 3 strategically placed punched snowflakes have saved the day!!!

So there you have it.

I'm off to do a bit of shopping. It's card club tomorrow night and it's our first birthday so I want some nice bits and bobs to take with me :)))x

But before I go, I thought I'd show you these little sweeties -

They are little angel charms and you can use them on your cards or jewllery.

I have some left over from an order I did, so if anyone is interested in buying any, just drop me an e-mail (they are £1.50 each including p & p).

I have to say a huge thank you to my lovely friend, the absolute sweetness that is Marlene, cos I got the idea for them from her and she has very generously said that she didn't mind me selling them. Thank you lovely girlie and I can't wait to see you at the NEC xxx

Have a great Sunday and hugs to all xxxx

Papertake Cheatly lol xxx

Ohhh what have I done!!!!

Well the challenge this week over at Papertake Weekly is Black & White + 1. Now you'd think that someone who spends most of her professional life dealing with figures etc would be able to count to 1.

But seemingly I can't.
Cos I realised after I did me card that I'd coloured the grass green.

In my defence, I was so smitten with me new Heidi In The Flowers image that I just HAD to use her cos she is so cute.

Which obviously led to me having one of me moments cos I was merrily colouring away and forgot and used a bit of green for the grass.

Which makes it black and white + 2.

Of course, I couldn't really have used any other colour really, so please forgive me peeps.

Like I said to someone the other day, you can take the blonde out of the hair,
but not out of the girl :(

So here's the big picture, and the scene of the crime.

I coloured Heidi in with PMs but forgot the Glamour Dust - just when you thought it couldn't get worse lol xxx!!

You can get hold of a Heidi for yourself over at Dies To Dies For and check out the offer of the day - it's Magnoliatastic :)))xxx

I did a bit of a funky mix and match with the papers. They are Funky Fairy's gingham and Funky Hand's Salt And Pepper spotty.

I've been on the scrounge round the old cards again and found a bit of me fave ribbon :) The button was from a kit but that's about all I can tell you cos I can't remember which one!!!

You're not surprised are you, considering I couldn't even count to 1 lol xxx

The 'cute' bit on the side (ohh that sounds bad) was a mistake (most bits on the side are!!). I shouldn't have put it on cos it's made the card very unbalanced which I don't like. If I get a sec I will put something on the other side to even it up a bit. Note to Dawny - please re-read the bit in one of your book about the rule of thirds!!!!

Well apart from the cheating, it is a fantastic week over at PTW cos we have 4 brand new designers joining us. They are Sharon, Jill, Debi and Donna.

Sharon is one of the best and is one of my oldest blog buds - that is oldest as in how long I've known her, not in age (sorry Sharon, cos I've just made you sound ancient xxx). When I first started out in the land of Blog, I was just blown away by her style and work and I still am to this day.

Jillis one of the nicest, sweetest girlies ever, she does fab work, and again she's one of the first blog buds I ever had.

Debi is one of my newer blog buds and she is also one of my AFA teamies and her work is amazing.

And Donna is also one of my newer blog buds and her work is also fab and she is a granny and she's funny. So my kind of gal.

I am looking forward to working with all of these talented peeps, I really am. Though after my cheaty bit today, it might not be mutual lol xxx

And of course we still have my other fabulous blog bud as one of our GDT and that is the wonderful Mrs Kath. She'll probably hate me for doing this but I just have to give her a toot .....

fanfare please .....

... cos she's only been invited to participate in the Countdown To World Cardmaking Day which is hosted by Paper Crafts Magazine and Moxie Fab World. How fab is that!! You can read all about it here.

Not only is Kath in there but also Kim (Dellow xxx), Rach (xxx) Andrea and Lucy. Girlies we couldn't wish for anyone better to represent us UK cardies and the work you did is just awesome.

Well that's me done for today, although sadly not in the work department cos there is a stack of it on my desk. So I'd best get on and get it done. Have a great day and hugs to all xxx

Guess Whose Scheduling Didn't Work lol xxx

Yes, it was mine :(

I was out yesterday afternoon at a party and then we had visitors last night so I scheduled this. Except I Dozy Dawny didn't do it properly so it was a no show. Anyway, we're here now.

So yesterday was Anyone For Anya time and as it was the last challenge of the month, we had a sketch, cos that's what we do.
And it was this one ......

.... here.

I flipped it and this is me card.
Terrible editing once again - sorry peeps!!!

And different colours than I would usually use but I kind of like them and IRL it's neither as wishy washy or as harsh as it looks here. And the colours are a lot nicer than they look here as well.

Ohh not doing very well am I lol xxx

I coloured Anya with my faithful PMs and sprinkled a bit of the loveliness that is Glamour Dust. You can get Anya and the fab PMs from the very lovely Tracy over at Dies To Die For and there's a whole heap of other yummy stuff there as well.

The papers I used are Funky Fairy - gingham and the stripey one is a Dawny P one which I did in 'Paint' to match the pens I'd used. I had to do stripes cos they are quite easy and I'm not that good really at doing anything more complicated :(((o

And there you go.

If you get a sec, nip over and check the blog out cos the team have done some fab work with the old sketch.

I'm on a flyer cos I had to re-do the post due to my dozy ways re making a booboo with the scheduling yesterday.

You didnt miss much cos it was mainly a load of drivvle about us going to party later on. But we went and we had a fab time so that was it lolxxx

Have the fabbiest of days and I'll see ya tomorrow cos it's PTW time and I have some FABULOUS news to share. Ohh I am so excited I cannot tell you.

Hugs to all xxxx

Something Different

Well it is a bit different for me, cos it isn't my usual 6x6 card.
It's actually 2 of them stuck together and trimmed to make a card that is this shape -

I tell you peeps, it isn't easy to photograph - or maybe that's just me lol xxxx
We did this type of card at card club on Monday so I thought I'd use it for our Anyone For Anya challenge which this week is Pink & White + 1. So as you could use any other colour, I went for my fave pale pistachio!!!

And I just had to use my new Dahlia stamp which I got this week from the fabulous Dies To Die For. How sweet is she!!!! I coloured her with the usual pens and blingy stuff. The papers are Pink Petticoat (spotty) and the ginghams are Funky Fairy.

The sentiment is from a Woodware set - sorry I cannot remember which one :(

The button is from my stash box and the ribbon is from a local warehouse. I coloured the string with the PMs so that it matched the green on the flower in Dahlia's hair.

This is what it looks like all fastened up. Nip over and check out the blog peeps cos there is a lovely stamp up for grabs this week and some fabulous cards by the team for you to feast yer eyes on :)xxx

Did anybody see......

The Happy Mondays last night on that Ghosthunting prog with Yvette Fielding? Now I know the language was a bit fruity to say the least but I tell you, it was hysterical. For a start. I only have to look at Bez and I smile. But watching him and the others having their melons twisted by 'whoever or whatever' was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.

If you missed it and it ever gets repeated, you have to watch it. Be warned, as I say they are a bit Anglo-Saxon with their choice of wordage but even so .....

My lot think the whole prog is a big set up and maybe they are right but I cannot make up my mind to be honest. Possibly there is a bit of crew jiggery pokery but maybe not all of it is.

I'm quite a logical person (no, I am really!!) and I think that if out of all the gazillions of ghost stories you hear, if only one of them is genuine then it must be true. I've lived in a house where all sorts of things went on and the bathroom was very scary. I didn't know until much later that somebody actually died in there. Ohhh-errrrr!!!

And Emma is convinced that in this house, she saw somebody standing looking out of the window on two seperate occasions. One was late one night as she was coming up the lane home. She thought it was either me or Richard but we were both fast asleep ( as she was driving, she was totally sober). And one was in the day time when she drove past on her way to work from dropping Kyla off at nursery. I was in my office and nowhere near the window - not even in that room.

No expanation for either incident.

Anyway, before I scare meself silly - cos I such a wimp re these things - I am off to do some work. I hope that you all have a fab Sunday and that you get to enjoy the lovely weather we are supposed to be having until mid week.

Take care and hugs to all xxxx

Papertake Weekly Goes Fruity xxx

Ohh I just love these colours xxx

This week, our challenge over at Papertake Weekly is Feelin Fruity with Funky Fairy!! So all you have to do is to create a card with something edible on and you could win yourself the new Funky Fairy Feelin Fruity Shabby Style download - and very verrry gorgeous it is too xxxx

Nip over and see what the sweet PTW girlies have done with the download.

This is what I did with it.

This card was so easy peasy to do and as soon as I saw that paper, I knew that I just had to use it.

The ribbon is Poppicrafts and the little black pearls were from Creative Pastimes In Ellesmere Port. I got the Glamour Dust out again just to give the strawberry a bit of sparkle - it looks like it has been dipped in sugar (ohh drool drool). It reminds me of a nice warm sunny day at Wimbledon, which sadly we are not going to this year.

Also sadly, we probably won't be having any nice warm sunny days either, but what can ya do short of emigrating lol!!!

I did a bit of doodling cos I just love doing it!!!

Now this is just a short post tonight (you may be verry glad to hear after the lengthy ramblings of late!!) because I have some new bad boys which I got today and I am just dying to see what they are made of lol xxx These babies are Pro Markers, oh yes, but they are the Aqua markers so I can watercolour with them.

The question is, will I prefer them to the usual bad boys??? Well I'll have a fiddle-de-dee and let you know.

Have a fabbytastic evening xxxxx

And Now For Something Completely Different ...

How about a lilac Christmas??
Here's some more of my Poppicrafts cards...

The image is a Sugar Nellies and is coloured with ..... can you guess????
Yeeeeees it's that old 'PMs highlighted with Glamour Dust' chestnut again (yawn yawn) lol xxxand zooooom xxxx
Cuttlebug snowflake btw, covered with Glamour Dust.

And some non Christmas ones. And I cracked the whip again with the MSBP cos it has had a rest, so now it must get back to work again.

DP is Funky Fairy
Paper is Tinker & Co and the scalloped card is from Craftwork Cards

So that's it folks.

BTW is anyone going to the NEC at the weekend? Ohh do let me know if you are - it would be completely fab to meet up and say hi while I am squandering my children's inheritance!!!

:)x
