As Clint Would Say, Are You Feeling Lucky?

rubberstamppriceslidelowres

Good morning everyone, and I hope that you are all OK today.

This post is going out at 7am on the 7th day of the 7th month – lucky seven if you are superstitious (I am a bit!!).
But as it happens, if you are after some new
Lili of The Valley stamps then you are indeed in luck.  Before I get to me project, check out the pic above and if you want more details, then bob on over to the Ideas To Inspire Blog and check it all out.

What a lovely way to start the week with some good news.

And doesn’t it make a change!!!

Ok now for today’s project and here ….

001 copy_thumb[2]

… it is.

I’ve made a window box using our beautiful Antebellum papers and apart from the leaf vine and grass, everything here is made from the pad.

I really like this pad – it ticks so many boxes, pardon the pun!!

Can you imagine that wood on a vintage Christmas card?
I whispered that last bit – oooh it’s a bit too early for that sort of festive talk!!

The actual window box was made using an Eileen Hull Window Box die which is made by Sissix.
Isn't it fab peeps : )

Not only that but it’s so easy to put together – I LIKE that.

004 copy_thumb[2]

I made a blind using a MS Doily punch and the teeny flowers were made from the middle bits of a Susan Tierney Sunflower Thinlits die – they're the tiny little brown bits you can see in the middle of this flower here …. .

images (1)

Now before you think that I have wayyy too much time on my hands to sit and shape every one of those tiny things, the way I did this was to die cut it (they are all together on one die – you can see what I mean on the pic),  but before I popped them out, I positioned the die over a moulding pad (or you could use an old mouse mat) and I popped them through with a small embossing tool.
They shape as they drop out – easy peasy.

003 copy_thumb[2]

The grass and leaf vines were cut using Memory Box dies – Lavish Branch and Grassy Border.

005 copy_thumb[5]

And the flowers were just made using a medium Woodware punch

So that’s me done for today.

Did you watch the tennis?  Talk about nail biting and tense. I have to admit that I would have liked to see old Roge win if I could have chosen and indeed if you had been near our house as this awesome match was going on then you would no doubt have heard old fog horn Lil here cheering him on!!

It wasn’t to be.

But for all of us tennis fans, above anything else, it was one of the best finals I’ve seen in many a year – truly a fantastic game of tennis.

Right, I’m off to do the dreaded weekly weigh in – it’s just a short hop to the bathroom lol. I’ve been good apart from (there’s always an ‘apart from’) going out for dinner on Tuesday and even then I had diet Coke and only a few chips (she say, polishing her halo!!).

I’ll let you know tomorrow if the results were good or bad.

Till then have a fab day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

It’s A Holly Holly-Day

Picture 005c copy

Morning peeps and hope all is well with you today :)

It’s that time of the week when we nip over to the US of A and see what’s happening with the good people at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and this week it’s all about

Christmas In August

and there is a whopping ….

to spend right here ….

Now I know I moaned about My Harrods etc yesterday but like I said it’s different for us poor souls (and poor being the operative word espesh when we can’t say no to new stash!!) who make cards. We need to start early cos heaven forbid that we would have to go and BUY them!! If you send people bought cards they see it a a bit of a slight when you make them yourself don’t they :(

Picture 002c copy

Anyhoos this is what I did.

I used this cute Penny Black stamp – it’s called A Thorny Affair and you can see it here. I coloured it with the old Copics but no list today hunny-pies cos the dope chucked it out trying to have a tidy up!!!

The base card was made using  these Spellbinders Grand Nesties

*LF-114 Spellbinders GRAND CIRCLES Nestabilities Calibur Dies    *LF-124 Spellbinders GRAND SCALLOPED CIRCLES Nestabilities Calibur Dies

… and if you click on the pics they will take you to the right place in the Simon Says Stamp Store

Picture 004c copy

I used an old Sissix holly die and a hole punch to make the berries (or cherries as Kyla calls them!!)  but you could easily draw a couple of leaves if you don’t have the die.

Picture 003c copy

I really like this card and it’s so quick and easy which is just the ticket if you have a mountain of Christmas cards to make.

So that’s me done for today – another shortie as work is coming out of me ears!!! Don’t forget to check it all out if you get a sec and also we have our dinks challenge which you can read about here if you missed it.

So I’ll see you tomoz with something fairy-ish!!! No sneakie peekie cos it’s still not quite done.

Enjoy your day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

It’s Been A While ….

Picture 006c copy

Morning chicksies and hope all is well with you today xxx

Today over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge, it’s eyes down etc etc cos we are off to play bingo and here’s ….

… the bingo card!!

So all you have to do is pick 3 in a row in any direction and use that combi on your card.

There is a fab $50 spree up for grabs as well

The DT this week have all used The Greetings Farm images and I have to say that it’s been ages since I used one and I’d  forgotten how sweet they are.

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did - I went diagonally from left to right and used buttons, lace and a sentiment :)

I coloured this little cutie with Copics and polychromos pencils and added a little bit of glitter along the way :)

Picture 005c copy

Speaking of glitter, I tried to cover a button with the stuff but it wasn't THAT successful as this close up shows.  But as my old Dad would have said, a blind man on a galloping horse won’t notice!!!

These lovely papers are Basic Grey Olivia and of course there’s a bit of paper lace courtesy of my old fave Magnolia Tilda Lace die as well :)

Picture 002c copy  Picture 003c copy

Picture 004c copy

So that’s the card done peeps.

We had a great time last night watching Mamma Mia. I haven't been to one of the ‘Chestivals’ before but I’d certainly go again. We took a picnic and sat on the grass in the amphitheatre and watched the film in the glorious sunshine. Of course everybody was singing and dancing - you can’t not when you hear Abba. Kyla told me she liked it better than The Sound of Music which is high praise indeed coming from her as that was one of her fave films. She was impressed that the ‘man from Nanny McPhee’ was in it and I think a lot of the ladies watching were also impressed  that he was in it ……. but for very different reasons lol!!!

So I’ll say toodle-pip and I;ll be back tomoz with more cardage.

Enjoy the rest of the day and hugs to all xxx

Oldies But Goodies :)

Picture 007c copy

Morning lovely peeps and hope the weather is as nice and Spring-ie for you as it is here in Chester today :)

And it’s that time of the week when we mosey on over and see what the Papertake Weekly girlies have been up to. It’s the first challenge of the month so it’s sponsored by those lovely peeps over at Lili Of The Valley.

and there is  a

GIFT VOUCHER

up for grabs which is going to wing it’s way to a lucky peepsie next week :)

As regulars will know, the first challenge of the month is where you get to just have fun and create something nice cos our theme is

Anything Goes

We do always have an optional extra for those who still want a challenge and this week it is to use something either old or something that you haven’t used for a while on your cards.

So I totally forgot to put something old on it which proves there is something old involved here, namely moi. but the quote of the week for me was from our Sharon who said that the old thing she used on her card was her hands lol!!!

Love it Sharon :)xxx

Picture 001c copy

The LOTV image I used today  is this little sweetie Dandelion Clock – one of my faves. I used a colour combi that I don't use very often, namely pink and lemon and the Copics I used were -

E00, E21. R11, R20 (skin), E42, E50 (hair), C1, RV0000, Rv00, RV10, Y38,YR0000, YR68

Picture 006c copy

The papers and pretty bloom were from  Do Crafts kit that I got from Purple Butterfly Crafts – it’s called Lemon Sorbet and it’s just gorgeous.

Great value as well cos it’s chock full of yummies :)

Picture 008c copy

This GORGEOUS pink and white striped ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl as are the teeny pretty spotty buttons

Do the clickie piccie thing to see them on the shop website :)

And I am so pleased to say that this month I am going to be a

guest designer ribbon girl

wooohoooo :)

Picture 1001c copy

The lace was lurking at the bottom of the  ribbon box – not sure from whence it came sorry.

But I do know that the pink sparkly gems were from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used my Lord Timmies Scrollwork On The Edge Doe which you can get here from the  Simon Says Stamp Store

Picture 003c copy      Picture 004c copy

Picture 005c copy

So that’s the old PTW card done peeps. But talking  of Simon Says Stamp. I’ll leave you with a bit of a sneakie peekie from tomorrows Simon Says Stamp Challenge card.

I’ll warn, you , it’s bright so shades on …..

sneakie

… see I did warn you.

So see you back here tomorrow when you can be dazzled a bit more lol!!

Have a fab day and hugs to all xxx
