Name That Tune :)

Picture 005c copy

Morning peeps and we are half way through the week so time to nip across the pond and see what’s happening with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge crew today.

We have a FAB theme for you and our challenge this week is to use a

SONG or FILM title as Inspiration

and the DT have been sooo creative with some clever choice of songs to match their work, so if you get a sec, nip and check it all out me darlins.

There is a voucher up for grabs …

… which you get to spend in the Simon Says Stamp Store

So, what did I do then???

Picture 001c copy

Well here’s the old card and the song I used is also the sentiment.

It’s Anyone For Tennis by Eric Clapton / Cream (and guess who is showing her age now ).

Wanna listen???

Yes, wouldn't that be nice indeed  :)

However I must confess that although I used to play several times a week many moons ago – it’s where I met my beloved and he was and still is awesome and sadly I was not – I hadn’t hit a ball for over 6 years until we went to Anglesey and I managed to hit a few with his Lordship. Kyla bless her was our ‘ball girl’ and she creased us as she kept crouching down at the side of the net like she has seen them do on the telly, bless her!!!

Attention to details is everything with that kid lol!!

And speaking of which, I better get back to the card instead of rambling on.

So I used Tennis Tilda – LOVE that image – and coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E35, E41, E42, E50 (hair), B0000,B000, B00, B02, C00, C1, C3, YG0000, YG01, YG03 (the rest).

Picture 004c copy

The papers used are First Edition Up Up  & Away 6 x 6 paper pack – gorgeous clean colours I think.  And the old faithful Tilda Lace Die has joined us once again (I cannot help it cos it’s so pretty).

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

And there we are done.

I’ll be back in the morning with another card to share and now I better get off and get some flippin’ work done, booo hisssss lol!!!

I don’t usually do this but thought I might enter this into a few challenges as it fits and they are –

Charisma Cardz – Inspired by A Song

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge  – Inspired By A Song

There’s lots of tunes about in the land of blog this week which is FAB :)

Have the fabbiest of days sweet peeps and hugs to all xxx

It’s A Revelation!!!!

Picture 003 copy

It’s almost changed my life!!!!

Now before you all think I’ve completely lost the plot, I’ll just explain. I do love my PMs (you probably noticed) and I love my new Copics as well, but they do have a tendency to bleed all over the place especially the Copics.

But I think I’ve found the answer.

It’s this fab card from Craftwork Cards.

I LOVE IT. The pens just glide over it and there’s hardly any bleeding. Awesome or what. I was using Southfield card before this but I’ll never use anything else now. I know I’m probably the last to catch on but if you haven't already tried it and you are a PM or Copics user, you will not believe the results.

Anyhoos, it’s Tuesday and I am sooo late getting this on here cos it’s been one if them days again, but we’re here now and it’s Papertake Weekly time again. We have a nice open theme this week and you can do anything you want for our challenge. There is a $25 gift voucher from Heidi over at Simon Says Stamp up for grabs plus a gorgeous selection of DT to feast your eyes on.

Picture 002 copy

And this is my card. I’ve used a Magnolia stamp I got from the NEC - how sweet – and the papers are MME from the loveliness that is Tracy at Dies To Die For

Picture 003bloom

The ribbon was form a box of chocs – how could you chuck it out when it is so pretty – and there’s Martha’s finest again. The gorge white rose is from those lovely peeps over at Wild Orchid Crafts

Picture 003paper

The pearls and bling were from The Hobby House – ohhh so lovely. I have one of their templates which I am dying to use … maybe later in the week!!

Picture 004 copy

And there’s a fair old bit of dimension as well which you can’t really see here but it is there, I promise you. So I am going to do something I have not done before and I’m entering it into this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge.

I’m on a real flyer today cos there is shed loads to do re work and then some bright spark decided to paint the kitchen. Yes it was me, I admit, so we have to start that shortly – grrr!!!!

So on that note, I’ll love you and leave you. See you soon and hugs to all xxxx

Awww, Cute As A Button :)

ed copy

This li’l fella has to be one of the sweetest ever I think, with his little baldie head and chubby cheeks – awww!!!.

And I’ve been dying to ink him up from the minute he arrived at chez piggy. He is of course one of the new Lily Of The Valley images which are just awesome. Check them all out here peeps if you haven't already seen them.

Anyhoos, sweet baby boy is so cute that I just had to use him for this week’s Cute Card Thursday challenge and this week they’ve gone all

Ribbon-tastic :)

Just up my street I thought lol!!!

Picture 002 copy So this is what I did.

I coloured sweet baby with my PMs – the newer muted colours are just perfect I think for these images. And of course you can get a fine selection of these bad boys from Tracy over at Dies To Die For.

And the gorgeous papers are all from the new Wild Rose Studio paper stacks. I used Candy Floss and Polka Dots and you can see them here.

button

The white organza ribbon and blue button were from my stash and I just tied a bit of twine through the button and gave it a bit of a curl .

Picture 005 copy1

A computer generated sentiment and some flat backed pearls finished it all off, and that was me done.

This is one of those cards that I really REALLY like cos it looks clean and fresh and ticks all the boxes for me. Now if you want to get your hands on a couple of these images, keep watching the pig sty peeps cos I have a feeling that there might be a bit more blog candy on the way………..

Have you seen my ugly mug in the new edition of Quick Cards Made Easy? Poor beggars if you have!!! I don’t have that many pics of me cos a) I’ve broken too many cameras and b) I cannot afford the litigation costs lol xxx That one in there does make me look like a bit of a simpleton (hold that thought perleeeeeeeeze!!). But it was the best of a bad job (yes, really). Shame isn't it!!).

It’s all about the world of blogging and I think it’s a great article and I hope that more people come and join us all in the land of Blog. I was so pleased to be asked to do it so huge thanks to the fab peeps at QCME and one other special girlie in partic who I won’t name but she knows who she is xxxx

And if you’ve read the article and have come for a little nosey and you’re reading this and wondering if you should take the plunge, then I would say GO for it because it’s a great way to share your work and there is so much inspiration to be found by visiting all the different blogs. Have a look round by clicking on the links or any of the names in our sidebars and you’ll see a wealth of styles out there.

And it really isn't that difficult to get your blog up and running. Believe me, if this dozy old thicko can do it, then so can anyone. It is a bit scary the first time you press the ‘publish’ button, but we've all had to do it and you’ll find that crafty blogger are just the best.

Well I’m off for a bit of a tidy up (my rock and roll lifestyle is something else at times!!). Kyla is going to a princess party (awww!!) and Richie Rich is working so I can get through it in no time which will then leave me more time for a bit more crafting later - it’s card club on Monday so I have the packs to prepare.

Have a fab day peeps and see ya tomorrow for another Anyone For Anya challenge. Hugs to all xxx

Sugar & Spice :)

Happy Sunday peeps and I hope that everyone is well xxx

We have a yummy challenge over at Anyone For Anya today and it is

Good Enough To Eat

It's a colour combi challenge and the colours you can use should have a food theme (can't you tell I picked it lol xxx). So you could do things like lemon and lime, strawberries and cream, that sort of thing.

I've gone for sugar and spice but these colours also remind me of those choccies with gooey strawberry centres!!!

Now I've decided to use this card for the fab challenge over at Cute Card Thursday as well cos this week it's Spots & Dots :)

So here's me card :)
I used one of the new Miss Anya Love images - this is such a fab set - and I did me PM and shed load of Glamour Dust thing. You can get both these things from our Tracy over at Dies To Die For.

I must just tell you that Tracy has got some of the gorgeous new Pepper & Friends range in - OMG it is just fabulous. Nip over and check it out and you'll see what I mean.

And watch this space peeps cos I can feel a bit of candy of the blog type about to appear at chez Piggy

I have to say that I 'heart' this ribbon so much but I cannot remember where I got it from :(

It was just the job for this card I thought.

And we have a dodgy angle pic for you so you can hopefully see the dimension that is going on. You can also see the gorge papers which are both Pink Petticoat :)

And that's it for today me lovelies.

I have a fair old bit to do in the card department before Richard takes pity on me and (hopefully) takes me out for some grub. There's loads I want to share but I can't just yet, but I will say that one of the projects I am working on is for Dulcie at Wild Rose and I can tell you that she has new stuff coming out soon and it is awesome.

But before I go, I WILL share this with you.

I was talking to Liz at Pink Petticoat earlier in the week and I mentioned that I'd sent a card up to a magazine YEARS ago (yes it was literally years) and it's appeared in the readers wives bit.

Wanna see?

Isn't it weird looking at work you did years ago. I said to Liz that it felt a bit like looking at photographs of yourself taken in the 70s and 80s (sadly I was THERE)and wondering why you ever had your hair like that.

It isn't that I dont like the card cos the colour combi is one of me faves. But I hardly recognise it as my style now and it just seems strange. Not better or worse just different!!!

Talking of the 70s and 80s and the weird and wonderful get ups we wore (or was that just me!!) I looked out of my window this morning and saw a bloke walking up the lane into the village dressed in .... a grey t-shirt, black leggings, a bright green tutu and bright pink 3/4 socks.

Oooh errrr!!!!

Now call me old fashoned but it isn't something you see every day. Now he was either coming in from a very good night out and was still under the influence, or the lad wasn't 'well'. Cars were slowing down to take a look but he seemed oblivious. Part of me is worrying about him in case he really wasn't well but judging by the way he was walking - a bit like a dressage horse - I am guessing that he was probably still UTI!!!! He was definately colour blind, that's for sure!!!!!

And on that note, I am off to do a bit more cardage.
Have a great Sunday and don't forget Dancing On Ice is on later - bet Kath is wetting herself cos she has a bit of a thing for Daniel (who is verrry cute) and he has a really good chance this year with Hayley. I just hope Jason behaves himself cos he was not nice to Sharron Davies last week and his comments were a little on the inappropriate side I thought, tut tut.

See you soon and huggles to all xxxx

What A Palaver (Plus A DT Call Out) !!!!!

I was without my internet yesterday and I felt like my arm was missing!!
What a saddo - I should get out more lol xx

So I managed to get the PTW post on but not my own card. I'm a day late but better late then never I suppose, but what a flippin mither it all was - more in as sec!!.

Anyway, over at Papertake we have a sketch for you this week -

This is the one!!

And here's my card. We are sponsored this week by Peggy Loves Vintage, so all the DT girlies have used a vintage image. I thought these two little sweeties were so cute and although I didn't put a bad boy near them, I did 3D the bow on her knickers and the bottle in his pocket.

Ohh, and I did sprinkle a bit of Glamour Dust on her knicker lace as well!!!

The paper I used was one of the Magnolia papers which you can get from Dies To Die For. I thought it went so well with the stripes on the little boy's shorts, and it has a vintage feel to it as well.

And that's the finished card and art farty angle, which doesn't really show the 3D -ing, but it is there peeps,!!

And I managed to do another card while I was waiting for Mr BT to finish off what he was doing

How sweet is this little pupster!!

He is Sam and he's a Wild Rose Studio boy and he's one of the gorgeous Christmas stamps - I love him.

So I did a quick card which I thought would fit nicley with this week's Cute Card Thursday where they want you to 'glitter them silly'. Well I was only too happy to oblige cos I love anything sparkly.

He was of course coloured with my PMs and his stocking was blinged with plenty of good old Glamour Dust

And here's the card - dreadful editing once again, sorry chicks!!.

Very unusual for me, there is not a scrap of design paper here, but there is some beautiful textured card which you can get from Tracy at Dies To Die For.

I wanted to keep the background fairly simple in order to show off that snowflake ribbon. Ohh it is gorgeous - this pic does not do it justice. It's a Martha Stewart ribbon and once again, you can get these over at Dies To Die For.

I did mention in the post title that there was a DT call out, and so there is.

If you love Sam and his little pals over at Wild Rose Studio, and you fancy joining us on the DT, then lovely Dulcie wants to hear from you.

You can read all about it here.

These stamps are fab peeps, you get such a clean crisp image and they are a joy to work with.

The other bit of the post title is the palaver bit.
Well I tell you peeps, I was up the wall. So much so that I only went and posted Lorraine's PTW GDT card from last week on this week's post!! I think it all must have sent my head west!!!

Dozey flippin mare or what!!!

But it was all a bit stressful moving the office upstairs and the craft room downstairs. The office is now finished, but I had to re-paint it last night cos the walls were, quite frankly, minging!!! And then we had to lay some new carpet (thank you Richard xxx) cos the radiator had leaked all over the old one. Then this morning at stupid o'clock we dragged all the equipment up the stairs, and plugged it all in.

Now, my boss is on holiday and he always sorts out the IT bit for me cos I am truly hopeless!!! But he can't very well do it if he's 2 thousand miles away!!

So dopey Dawny , the world worse IT bod on the planet, had to do it herself!! And you know what - I did, and it worked. It is indeed nothing short of a miracle, but there was not one single glitch. I even managed to get reconnected to the virtual server at work.

I am still in a state of shock but not as much as my boss will be when he gets back and I tell him that I sorted it all.

So that just leaves the craft room and that bit is a little more involved ie 10 years worth of stash to re-organise. So I better get on and get it done!!

I may be some time peeps.

Have a fab day and speak soon if I ever get out of the mess alive!!!

Tangy-Tastic Tilda :)x

What a cute cookie lol xxx

I used this gorgeous Tilda for my card for this week's Just Magnolia challenge which is Bright & Zingy. So I decided to go for a lemon and lime colour combi.

So this is the cardio.
I coloured Tangy Tilda with PMs and there is a bit of bling in there today.

Don't forget that you can get your mitts on some fab Magnolia stamps over at the even fabbier Dies To Die For :)x.

Martha Stewart's punch came in handy - it's just sooo pretty - and the papers are Pink Petticoat and Mad About Cards.

The three teeny buttons were in my stash - I found this box a few days ago so as it's out, I am using 'em up!!!

Still not sure where they came from originally!!!

The lime green bow ribbon was from a warehouse near here and I found the little yellow stripey ribbon while I was rumaging for some wider stuff. Not sure where that one came from either - sorry peeps xxx

The white flower, which you can barely see cos I cocked up the lighting again, was from Simon Says Stamp.

So that's my bright and zingy card.
They aren't my usual colours, me being a pastel sort of girl, but I quite like the way this turned out.

I'm on a real flyer tonight cos I still have a fair bit of work to get through and a whole heap of jobs which will not do themselves sadly. So I guess it's down to me - grrrrr!!!!

But I hope that everyone is ok and that you are having a fab night.

Hugs to all and see ya tomorra xxxx

A Whiff Of Stamping With Fun :)x

I think my one remaining brain cell has gone to sleep cos I couldn't think of anything witty for a title :(x

But you get the drift!!

I've combined 2 challenges here, namely Whiff of Joy which is to use Die Cuts - I used nesties for the frame and also the blooms - and Stamping With Fun which is a lovely sketch.

I've had my WOJ Lizzie stamp for ages and I thought it was about time that it saw some ink cos it is sooooo sweet. I coloured her with my fav PMs, literally, cos I used Blossom and Soft Lime and I love these 2 colours together.

So complete with shadows, cos the light, is so bad here today, here is me card.

The papers are from the new PP Fairy Lights Christmas collection. This is what I love about Liz's stuff - Fairy Lights are for life, not just for Christmas :))x

I made these paper flowers from the two smallest scalloped nestie circles. And the 'button' is just a punched circle wth a bit of thread, which I coloured with a black PM!!

Bit of a neat cheat me thinks!!!!

I used a MSBP (you can get them over at the ever so fab Dies To Die For btw) some black stick on gems and of course, the absolute fave ribbon was recycled.

Oghhh funny light here in the arty farty shot!!!!
And I was doing so well for a change!!

Well I had an absolute nightmare yesterday (rant alert peeps!!). I ordered a Cricut Cartridge from the US and I have been a bit worried about it to be honest, with the post being how it is.

Anyway, yesterday, I got a card through the door saying that it was at the sorting office and I needed to go and pay £11.28 before they would release it. Mr Customes & Excise had got hold of it and slapped this charge on it. I think the limit is about £18 and this was about £4 over.

So off I went, not very happy about it but it still worked out cheaper than in the UK shops so hey ho. The sorting office peeps were fabulous and they gave me a number to ring for C&E cos they said that they do sometimes reduce this. Well the C&E lady was sooo helpful, she really was. She explained to thicko here that the charge from them was actually £3.28 and the other £8 was the Royal Mail handling charge.

Whaaaaaaat?

I already paid the ruddy postage in the US ($13).

So I rang the Royal Mail and got through to the rudest person I have ever had the misfortune to speak to. She was so high handed and 'explained' to me that they had to go and get this parcel for me from Customs and this incurred charges. Included in it was their interest charge cos they had to pay the C&E up front.

So I asked her what APR they were charging on £3.28and she told me that 'she was not prepared to discuss that with me'. So I then told her straight that I thought this was an absolute disgrace, the charge was disproportionate to the value of the goods and that I did not like the way she had spoken to me, she was rude and unhelpful. I pointed out that if I ever spoke to any of our clients like that, I would be out of a job. She then all but shouted that she had handled my call courteously and had not been rude - haaaaa, yer think so lady!!!!! She then said 'thank you for your call, goodbye.' I then told her that I had not finished yet.

And she put the phone down on me!!!!
Clearly I had finished!!!

So I rang Consumer Direct who told me that the OoFT were aware of this charge and that it was being looked into. They urged me to write to the Royal Mail and outline what had happened, which I am going to do today at some point.

It isn't the dosh cos as I said, it still worked out cheaper, but if they are charging us, I think the least they should do is give us a breakdown at how they arrive at their figure.

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask eh!!!!

So rant over, and that's me done lol xx
Now I'm off to do a bit of work, make a bracelet that a very nice lady has ordered (I might put a pic on here if I get a sec) and then try and source a donkey outfit for Kyla's nativity.

She has been upgraded cos this year she is the litle donkey (she was a star last year). Ahh bless!!! But I have to admit that the shops are not exactly brimming with Neddy outfits, so we might have to resort to a 'Grandma' special.

Poor kid, let's hope I find one.

Have a fab Friday - wooohooo, the weekend is nearly here!!!!

3 Into 1 - Or Should It Be 1 Into 3?

I'm never quite sure which way round lol xxx

But basically what I mean is that I've done 1 card for 3 challenges.

I have to say that I really love this Penny Black image - it is one of my faves.

So The 3 challenges are -

A Spoonful Of Sugar Challenge which is a fab sketch
by my pal Caryn (loved it chick xxx)

& Colour Create Challenge which this week is red, yellow, black and white

So I think I ticked all the boxes there. I coloured the image with my old faithful PMs but left it bling free.

And this is the card.

I've put the pics on here a bit different cos I've removed all the backgounds.

What do ya think?
Do they look better backgroundless?
Or does it make them look like they are sort of floating?

I can't quite decide.

The paper was from a download I got from the lovely Marieka Vermeulen. I've had this for ages and the link is to her Etsy Shop, but I'm not sure she still does the black and white collection.

The ribbon is from Poppicrafts and the buttons were from who knows where cos I've had them for soooo long and never used them, cos I'm really not a 'yellow' person!!

But they came in very handy here!!!

And that's it - a teeny bit of dimension that's all, which you can hardly see, but it is there!!!

Well I have paperwork coming out of my ears so I have to knuckle down and get it sorted today. Once I am in that frame of mind, I will whizz through it - but getting started is the hard bit.

Then I am off for a bit of a shop to get some goodies for a blog candy I have planned VERY soon. I have most of it but there are one or two bits I want to put in as well. So have the best day peeps and see you soon.

Hugs to all xxxxx

Monday, 12 October 2009

Ohhh What A Job .....

... I had editing these pics!!!!

So this has turned into the 'how many different shades of blue can you turn one card into' post!! Not intentionally of course.

So please excuse the dreadful quality here. I might re-take them tomorrow when the light is better (I always say that and I never do, but it sounds good lol xxx)

So I got a lovely bundle of goodies from the sweetness that is Tracy at Dies To Die For and this lil poppet and her blueberries was in it. How could I resist?

So I've used her for this week's Just Magnolia Challenge which is a sketch by Mina - and a fab one it is as well. And the challenge is sponsored by Tracy as well so it all fitted together nicely.

So this is the card and shade 1 - a bit of a cornflower blue tone in this shot. I used PMs and did the bling thing.

Check out Tilda's blue suede shoes (don't step on them will ya lol xxx)

OK, shade 2 here.
We've now got a bit of airforce blue.

I think I should point out that IRL this is a gorge colour. It is PP, Stripes and the colour is'blueberry' (to match the image cos I am such a saddo!!).

And wooohooooo, the MS doily punch is back in use.
And there's a sneaky bit of Cuttlebugging going on as well!!!

The ribbon was from the local floristry warehouse that I go to - cheap as chips as his orangeness David D would say :)

Ohh now I'm not sure what you'd call this shade - periwinkle maybe?
Or is that a tad pretentious?

It's in between the cornflower blue and the airforce blue so how about cornforce blue.

Ohh I am just rambling now!!!!

But this is the shade that is closest to Liz's blueberry.
Pretty isn't it.

Ohh I give up!!!!

So now for the excuses, nay reasons for the cock up that has been the pics.

OK, yesterday I ran out of batteries for my camera (which was why I was late with me Anya card). I ended up getting some from our village shop and I reckon they must have been in there since World War 2 cos they had about as much life in them as a comatose sloth!!!

So today, I make me card and get it finished just as the last of the good light is fading. I take a couple of pics and then the flippin sloth batteries die. So I legged it back to the village shop and bought some new ones, got back and tried to take some more pics. But it was heading towards dusk - not good - so I ended up putting the lights on.

Result? Crap pictures.

So some are too dark and some have a lovely yellowy tinge that make them look like they've been in a room full of Capstan Full Strength chain smokers. Sorry peeps but I hope you get can get the general idea.

And on that sorry note, I am off to sort out me card for tomorrow's Papertake Weekly. Now you don't want to miss this cos we have a very special guest designer tomorrow. She's very verrrry famous - that is all I will say. Tune in and see who it is if you get a sec. And you might even see a decent pic from me if I shape meself and get the pic done before the twighlight zone set in!!!!

Have a fab night and see ya tomorrow xxxxx

Spooky Pumpkin Cutie :)

Hi Peeps xxx
Hope all is well with everyone.

This lil sweetie is Pumpkin Emma and she is a CC Design image. I think she is really sweet and I thought I'd use her for my Happy Halloween card for Kyla.

I love CC Designs and there is a fab range available over at the equally fab - if not fabbier - Dies To Die For.

Buy sheer good luck, I can also use her to join in with the challenge over at A Spoonful Of Sugar cos this week it is Halloween :)

And this is what I did.

I coloured the image with PMs - no blingy stuff for a change and also no punches - MS or otherwise!!!I thought I'd show you the papers like this cos you can't see them in their full glory on the card but they are perfect for Halloween cards and they are of course Liz's brilliant Spooky Doodlies papers from Pink Petticoat.

The colours are gorgeous - I just love them!!!

You'd never know it if you looked on here but I do actually have a Cricut machine. To my shame, it doesn't get used half as much as it should but I have told myself that I must start to use it more.

So this spider's web and spider were from the Wild Card cartridge - it is awesome and chock full of stuff. I used some little orange gems which were on offer at The Paper Mill for the spider's eyes.

And there ya go.

I am on a flyer tonight cos I am off to do the technical thing with my keyboard and mouse. The mouse is one of them digital wireless things - grrr - and lately it has developed a mind of it's own to the point where I am almost ready to feed it to the cat.

My keyboard is also missing half the letters cos for some reason (probably due to heavy handed Annie here lol xx) after about 6 months of use, I managed to wipe the writing off most of the keys. This the third keyboard I have ruined and this particular one is now down to 4 keys that are readable.

So I've been to PC World and replaced them. And if you stick your head out of the window in about half an hours time, you will no doubt hear the yells and cursing when thicko here can't get either of them to work.

If you stick your head out and it happens to be quiet, it will either mean a) I have given up and gone to bed b) I have thrown them both through the window or c) both.

Have a fab night and see ya soon xxxx
