Pink & Pretty (Just For A Change!!)

Morning lovely peeps and hope you are all OK and having a nice weekend. At least the weather seems to have behaved itself and the sun  is actually out bright and early here today. Not sure if it will last though?

As  it’s the first Sunday of the month, it’s time to catch up with what’s happening over at

The Ribbon Girl Blog

and our challenge this month is actually a bingo challenge ….

… and here is your card :)

There are 2 fab prizes up for grabs.

Firstly, a £10 gift voucher to spend in The Ribbon Girl Shop …

and there’s also a Lili of The Valley stamp of your choice as well :) …..

2 verrry good reasons indeedy to play along don’tchya think sweet peeps xxx

So, what did el Piggy do?

Well I know that nobody likes a show off, but …

 Picture 001 copy

… I did ‘em all!!!

I sort of set myself a challenge to see if I could and I think I just about managed it!!!

Picture 004 copy

The cute lil image is Snow Queen from Lili of The Valley and I used the following Copics -

Skin – E0000, E000, E00, E11, R00, R02

Hair – E15, E31, E33, E34, E35, E29

The rest – N0, C2, E50, RV0000, RV000, RV00, R85, Y21. Y28, Y38

Just for a change I’ve made a shopping list at the end of the post with pics of all the products I’ve used and they are all hyperlinked to take you straight to the right places :)

In the meantime, here’s some more pics for you.

2 pretty blooms and a die cut  which I chopped down!!

  Picture 006 copy

Picture 007 copy

A perfect sentiment and a couple more die cuts!!!
I know these are ferns but I think they look fab for Christmas cards as well.

Picture 008 copy

Picture 002 copy

So that’s what I did.

I wasn’t too unpleased with how it turned out but I wish I could take better pics when I do a base card other than the usual 6 x 6. I never seem to get it quite right!!!

Here’s what I used -

From The Ribbon Girl -

170439-mini-makes-pink       215801-ivory        163415-sugar-and-spice-pearls

215923-pinkcherryblossom             105106-Diamante-Daisies

From Nitwits -

         fqb_mrandmrs_LRG

From Which Craft -

From Simon Says Stamp -

        MBdelicatefern98341

And last but by no means least, the sentiment is from the Pink Petticoat Heartfelt Christmas Sentiments collection (sorry there wasn't a pic ).

Did you all watch the Olympics last night? I tell you, I was nearly hoarse from cheering on Mo Farrah - that last lap was beyond exciting. Makes you proud to be British and isn’t Mo a nice man. Hugest congrats to our athletes – what an amazing night it was.

It topped off a very nice day yesterday.

I’d gotten Richard a driving experience day for his birthday last year so we went there first, and he really enjoyed it but at least we know now that if we ever win the lottery, we won’t be buying a Ferrari (unless Tom Selleck – drool drool - is included and then I will have  to have one just to look at) !! Apparently they are tricky beggars to drive – funny gears by all accounts!!   Then we went out for a nice late-ish lunch before getting back home and just flopping on the couch and watching the telly with a Bulmer's Red Cider (Rich, who doesn't normally drink ) and a glass of chilled vino (moi, who normally does)!!.

Not long now before my little sausages are back and I am missing them so much, and Emma sent me this pic of the baby yesterday in her sun hat …..

thea in spain

…awww bless her little heart.

One eye looks like it’s going to close but she still looks sweet (I know I am biased). She’s nearly 10 weeks old now  and she’s all chubby cheeks and hair (you can’t see the hair cos of the hat but she hasn't lost any). And Kyla is such a lovely big sister to her – there has been no jealousy and considering she has been on her own for 6 years she has coped really well with the little interloper. I am so proud of that kid.

So on that doting soppy granny note,  I am off to finish off the colouring for the next lot of LOTV sneak peeks ( they are just adorable) and also finish the prep for my classes at the LOTV open day next Saturday.

Enjoy your Sunday whatever you are doing and if you get a sec, nip over and check out the challenge because the DT cards are amazing. I am so honoured to work with such talent, I can tell you.

I’ll see you in the week so until then, huggiest of hugs to all xxx

The cute tag is from the LOTV set 24 sentiment tags set – LOVE these of course :)

Now this weekend, I have, just for a change, been a bit busy!!! But NICE busy cos yesterday I did my first class over at Crab Apple Crafts which is of course Rosemary’s shop.

I had a fab day and you all made me so welcome, thank you xxxx. I felt  like I had been going there for years!!! Special thanks to Nova who helped me find my way around (and showed me where the loos were – VERY important of course!!)

My day was made even more special cos guess who came along ? …..

Picture 004

… yes it’s only our Katina my fellow PTW and craft mag  teamie :)

She is so lovely and I was of course chuffed to see her, even though we didn't get to spend as much time together as I would have liked.

And here’s a pic ….

Picture 001

… of the afternoon class busy working away ( I let them put their pens down for the pic, slave driver that I am -not!!) !!! But they did all work very hard and I hope that they love their Pro Markers a little more now.

Michelle – first on the left – should have come with her Mum but she was unwell so I hope she is soon feeling better xxx

Check out that pretty pink bunting – right up my street that was!!!

Picture 005

This is Joan, Rosemary’s Mum,  who really did make we feel at home there AND she kindly lent me her umbrella (ella ella ey ey ey) to nip over the road to grab a sandwich – God bless the British weather at the mo - grrrrr!!! .

So a lovely day indeedy, although I did miss my grandchildren so much because they didn’t stay over on Friday as they usually do. But I am going to get them in a tick and then we are all having dinner later, complete with kisses and cuddles in abundance – it’s practically the law in our house!!!  They won’t be staying over next week either because I am off to Peterborough to Sir Stampalot for the weekend. But I am hugely excited because at long last I am going to meet one of my oldest blog buds and one of the best crafters on the planet, the sweetness that is Claudia. More of that next week I’m sure.

So enjoy the rest of your day and I’ll see you in the week.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

PS - watch this space for more news,  but all I will say is keep 11th August free (ooh intrigue intrigue!!) xxx

Here Comes The Hot Stepper :)

Picture 006c copy

Hi there me darlins and hope you are all enjoying this lovely Spring day today :)

It’s that time of the week when we head on over to good old Papertake Weekly and see what’s happening, and today we have one of our

Anything Goes

themes for your with the option of adding something shrink plastic. I bet loads of you have a pack of it somewhere in your stash, so why not get it out and see what you can do with it. Of course, you don’t have to peeps if you don’t want to cos it is only an option :)

We have a fabby voucher from Lili Of The Valley up for grabs so if you get a sec, check it all out :)

So ….

Picture 001c copy

… this is what I did.

I went for something a bit different from my usual 6 x 6 card base. I used one of the gorgeous Elegant Step Card blanks  which the lovely Paula from Which Craft UK sent me to have a play with. They look like you’ve spent hours on your card but in fact they take very little work and you end up with something quite special I think.

The image is one of the new Lili Of The Valley releases -  she is Dainty Dancing and very sweet indeedy.

I coloured Miss Twinkle Toes with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E42, E50, E81

The rest – E81, RV0000, RV000, RV00

The papers are from the Grin n Bear It collection from Nitwits

Picture 004c copy

I used the Magnolia Doily Flowers from Simon Says Stamp to make this bloom and topped it off with one of those pretty little pink two tone blossoms from The Ribbon Girl.

Sweet :)

Picture 005c copy

This is where the shrink plastic comes in.

I punched a heart (oooo errr!!) from the plastic then coloured it with Copic RV00 and then shrank it down.  Then I attached it to a double bow made from cream vintage seam binding and topped it off with another blossom.

Picture 003c copy

3 things here which I love a LOT -

Ivory pleated Satin ribbon, topped with some cream tiny ric rac, both from The Ribbon Girl and a bit of paper lace (no I won't do the Billy Don’t Be A Hero thing again!!) made from my well used and much loved Tilda Lace Die from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 001c copy

I’ve had a pack of doilies for years.

My mum gave me them a long time before she died (and that was in 2003!!). I knew I had them but could not finds them in the general melee that is my craft room,  then whilst looking for something else, I found them!! So they got the glitter treatment round the edges – you can’t really see on the pics – and on one went!!

So that’s today’s card done peeps and I’ll be back tomoz with my Simon Says Stamp card.

Here, have a little sneakie peekie ……

sp

… now I wonder what image that can be lol!!!

Well did you see DOI on Sunday?
Thank the good Lord that Chico listened to me and sorted his wig out. Talking of  hot steppers, he was a bit ooooh la la and raunchy-o wasn't he (if you missed it I’ve put the YouTube thing on for you :) so today we’ve had Dainty Dancing and a bit of Dirty Dancing as well (shocking, Miss Piggy!)

Now I have to say that in no way do I find him attractive. He is far too oily and smarmy for my liking, BUT his little bootie shake at the beginning was a sight to behold and he clearly looks after himself cos you don't get a bod like that by eating cream cakes and sitting on your butt watching Jeremy Kyle all day.

Clearly that is where I am going wrong.

I have to confess that I do watch JK  but only to see if there is anybody on there with a full set of teeth  :(   I sometimes watch it whilst eating cream cakes as well sadly, which explains a lot!!!

Anyhoos I thought Sunday was fab – especially the team bits near the end. The girls got my vote but I did like the old YMCA thing as well. I have to fess up that Louis Spence is growing on me cos I didn’t used to like him but he is quite funny in his own way!!  I still can’t pick a winner this year although I’ll predict a Jorgie / Matt final.

So I’ll be off on that note but I’ll leave you with Chico-time and his ‘Sexy And He Knows It’ bit (and check out his ‘sexy’  kex!!!).

Enjoy your evening and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

And The Answer Is ………

Picture 009c copy

Hi chicksies and hope you are all well xx

It’s Friday and the start of a loooooooong weekend – woooohooooooooooooooo!!!! So let’s kick it all of by checking out what’s happening over at the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge today.

It’s a double giveaway as we have 2 very generous Sponsors this week.

First we have a  Crafts U Love £10 voucher

And our second prize is sponsored by the fabulous

The Ribbon Girl ….

…. and the winner gets to choose one of the special collection kits in the colour of their choice.

And what a nice challenge cos it’s all about

Friends

so you just need to make a ‘friend’ inspired card or project.

Picture 008c copy

So this is what I did.

I seem to be back on the pink again peeps and I coloured the lil hAnglar & stAnglar sweetie with these Copics -

E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E33, E50 (hair),  C00, C1, C3, RV0000, RV000, RV00, RV85 (clothes etc)

and the striped paper is Pink Petticoat

Picture 010c copy

I used a scalloped circle card blank pack from Which Craft UK and covered a plain circle with the paper then I edged it with some lace.

The ribbon is organza organza spot 9mm – I used pale pink – and the tag is Pink Petticoat

Picture 0081c copy      Picture 009c1 copy

I used some Wild Orchid Crafts self adhesive pearls to decoate a corner and also to make a little button on her shoe and the die is from  Go-Create die set Pointy Frame #2 which I got from Purple Butterfly Crafts (I added a bit of bling round the edges as well!!)

Picture 011c copy

Check out these beautiful  blooms peeps – I think they look so pretty.  Blooms used are a 25mm wild rose10mm open roses6mm closed rosebuds, 5mm closed rosebuds, 8mm semi open roses and last but by no means least, some gorgeous sweetheart blossoms.

And of course they are all from Wild Orchid Crafts

So that’s me done for the day and also for the week.

Enjoy your long weekend whatever you are doing and I’ll see you soon.

Hugs to all xxx
