Game, Set & Match :)

Good morning sweet peeps and a very Happy Sunday to everyone.

Its time for our monthly card challenge over at The Ribbon Girl blog and our theme is

Summer

As usual our card Challenge is sponsored by our lovely friends at Lili Of The Valley and The Ribbon Girl and we have 2 fab prizes up for grabs -

So what did I do then?

Well, I thought, what could be more summery than tennis?
Very topical, and I will be glued to the telly for the final later.

So …

… here’s my card.

I used Tennis Tilda and I coloured her with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E13, R00, R02
Hair – E31, E35, E39, E50
The rest – B0000, B000, B00, B05, G99, YG00, YG03, YG95

I’ve outlined the image with glitter and added some to the lacy bits of her dress and the racquet strings.

The gorgeous papers are Shabby Shack from Lili of The Valley – I love the clean crisp look of these papers.

A beautiful bow made with 32mm Celery Green Pure Silk Ribbon – this stuff is pure gorge.
You can also see the
38mm 'Phoebe' White Guipure Lace, Apple Green Tiny Ric Rac5mm Mixed Greens Self Adhesive Pearls,  and I chopped up some White Rose/Pearl Organza Ribbon to top the bow.

I also added some of it to these …

… flowers here.
I quite like the way they look on their own  : )

I made some little tails for the flowers using the ric rac.

Here, I gathered up some 32mm 'Anne' Antique White Lace and glued it to the back of this panel.
All these beautiful goodies are of course from Mary over at
The Ribbon Girl

The sentiment is from the Lili of The Valley Sentiments to Fit Scroll set which I adore – you probably noticed lol!!!

I can almost smell the grass with those pretty green colours.

So that’s the old card done for today.

I’m so looking forward to the tennis later even though we won’t be having our usual food fest (I usually do us a yummy picnic style late lunch to go with our Pimms and strawbs and cream). We will be having the strawbs but it will be low fat cream this year. Not that I mind cos I am sticking to the diet this time. I tell you peeps, I have found some lovely recipes on the SW website and we have actually been eating really well AND losing weight.
It's win win fo sho!!!

I don’t mind who wins today although I do have a soft spot for old Rog the Dogdge.
But it’s the kind of match I enjoy best when you are non – partisan

Right on the note I’m off.
It’s our monthly card club tomorrow and I’m in the middle of doing the prep.
Enjoy your day whatever you are doing and love and hugs to all xxx

 Picture-0011w

Hi sweet peeps and hope you are all OK on this lovely Spring day (or at least it is in Chester :)

It's time to nip over and check out what's happening over with the Papertake gang and in keeping with the weather, our theme this week is

Spring Has Sprung

so you can either do a Spring card or use Spring colours (like what I did !!).

And ...

Picture-001w

.. this is my card.

I used of of my faves from the new Lili of The Valley release and this is Annabel Upside Down.
She looks like she's having a whale of a time I think :)

I coloured her with the following Copics -

Skin - E000, E00, E11, E13, R00, R02
Hair -  E31, E33, E35, E39, E50
The rest -   C4, C7, C9, E31, E35, E39, RV00, RV10, RV34, YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG95

Picture-005w

You can say anything you want (within reason,  natch lol) with these fab tags - they are from SET 24 - Sentiment Tags.
What ever did we do without them!!

And I used a couple of Cheery Lynn dies -  Francesca Border and French Pastry Doily, both from Sir Stampalot

The tree is a Memory Box Twiggy Die  and the clouds are dies from Joycrafts

Picture-003w

So there we are for another week and before  go I have to say a mahoosive thank you to the lovely ladies that came to the shop for the workshops on Saturday.

Here's a couple or three pics ....

Picture-001w

The morning colouring group.

Picture 008

The afternoon Birthday Planner ladies - or rather,  half the room.
Some of the morning group stayed over for the afternoon workshops as well :)

Picture 009 (2)

And look who's here.
In the background you can see
Tracy Thompson and Susan Stacey, and in the foreground concentrating very hard is our lovely Marjorie who is one of our Guest Designers at Papertake, along with her daughter Debs.

I also had a very special encounter with my little pal Bobby who is Tracy's boy.
This kid is a real sweetie and I just love him  -  I overlook the fact that he is a Leeds supporter. Anyway he brought me a box of choccies, bless his little heart and thank you Bobby xxx

Now in the past I have asked him for a hug and a kiss but of course he doesn't do such soppy stuff - he is far too old for that kind of thing now.  But at the last  open day our Lou took him some sweets and she didn't mess about, she just planted a big kiss on his cheek and gave him a hug.

Well I was most put out I can tell you.

So this time, I didn't ask, I just sort of got him in a head lock and nicked a kiss as well!!!.
He did walk back to his Mum wiping his  face (yes Bobby Thompson I saw you!!) but I didn't care.
He makes my day when he comes into the shop, little poppet.

Anyway we al had a smashing day and everybody said how pretty the shop looked, as it always does. I am hugely looking forward to the next workshops so watch this space lovely peeps :).

Right I'm off to do some work so I'll see you soon as soon and till then, have the most fabulous of  days.

Huggiest of hugs to all  xxx

Picture-005web

Morning sweet peeps and hope you all had a great Bank Holiday - wasn't the weather nice (well for 2 days at any rate!!).

Before we get to today's card, I must announce the winner of my gorgeous giveaway from last week - you can see it here - and the winner is .....

Well done to you my hunny and if you ping me a quick email, I will pass the details on to Mary, and of course hugest thanks to The Ribbon Girl for these lovelies xxx

So onto the card which is for this week's Papertake Weekly challenge and it's

Sketchie Free For All

time again, and this ....

... is sketch #73 which is the one I used.

I thought I'd use one of the  sentiments from the brand new Lili of The Valley  Pretty Vintage release and this is from set #62 - Friendship Quotes.

What lovely words they are don'tcha think peeps :)

Picture-001web

The papers are from a Lili of The Valley  8x8 paper pad  - this one's Perfect Pair (these are soooo pretty.

I made the rolled roses using a Memory Box SCALLOPED POSIE Craft DIE and the leaves are chopped up from a  Martha Stewart FROND LEAF Craft Punch.

Well not the punch but what it made lol!!!

Picture-004web

Ohh beautimous gingham ribbon - so nice that I had to use 2 lots of it :)

I made the bows using 25mm Shocking Pink Small Check Gingham and topped it with a 15mm Sparkly 2-Hole Button which doesn't look very sparkly on these pics but IRL it GLEAMS

Picture-006web

A nice inked up bit of paper lace courtesy of a Francesca Border Die

I’ve linked the die to Sir Stampalot cos Jan has a fab selection there, but if you are ever over at the Lili of The Valley shop, there is a mahoosive selection there as well :)

And speaking of the shop, are you planning on coming to the Open Day this weekend?

There's all sorts going on - demos, workshops and an eye feast fit for a King with all the lovely stuff in the shop.
PLUS you will be able to get your mitts on all of the new stuff before they go on general release.

There MAY be one or two spaces left on the workshops but please don't quote me - best check with our Erica as she is the girl in the know :)

So …

Picture 001 copy

… this is what I did.

The image I used is Tilda Catching Stars from the Princes & Princesses 2012 collection.
I coloured her with
Distress Inks – I can see an improvement here so I think that I’m starting to get somewhere with them.

Picture 007 copy

The colours I used are -

Skin - Tattered Rose & Vintage Photo
Cheeks - Worn Lipstick & Tea Dye
Hair – Antique Linen & Walnut Stain
Clothes – Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey

The papers are all by Nitwits and they are from the FQB - Life's Little Lemons Collection and Promises Collection.

Picture 004 copy

Two bows made from 16mm Yellow/White No 106 Berisford Pencil Stripe and 15mm Orchid No 910 Microdot Ribbon and topped with an 18mm Sparkly 2-Hole Button which has been threaded with some natural button twine.

Picture 005 copy

Oh my I am loving these roses :)
They are
Ivory Rolled Paper Roses and they are so delicate – I could never make them with such fine paper. I added a pearl and some leafy things made with a Martha Stewart BRANCH Craft Punch M230367 (from Simon Says Stamp).

You can just about see the  Francesca Border Die which I topped with some 5mm Lemon Cream Loopy Trim

Picture 006 copy

Another Cheery Lynn die – this one’s Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily Die

I’ve linked these dies to Sir Stampalot cos Jan has a fab selection there, but if you are ever over at the Lili of The Valley shop, there is a mahoosive selection there as well :)

Picture 002 copy

Picture 003 copy

So that’s my card all done.

Well it is a quiet old weekend here peeps. My lot have gone to the Cotswolds so we are grandchild-less. It’s one of those things that looks fine on paper but the reality is different and we are soooooo missing them. The house is nice and quiet (and tidy) though so I guess we should enjoy it while we can …. as long as it doesn’t happen to often lol!!

Right, enjoy the rest of your Sunday and don't’ forget to nip over and check out the challenge. Also I still have my gorgeous giveaway and it isn't too late to enter – you can read all about it right here.

Take care, stay warm and safe and see you tomorrow (yes I will be back but I can’t say why!!!)

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

A Cute LOTV Candle :)

Morning lovely peeps and hop you are all OK today xxx

It’s that time of the week when we head over to the Papertake Weekly challenge and see what’s happening and this week our theme is

Anything Goes

We are sponsored by the lovely Lisa & Laila over at

Lili Of The Valley

And they have given us a …

.. to spend in the shop :)

As we usually do on Anything Goes weeks, we have an optional extra for those who want to use it and this week it’s to make a gift for Christmas. …

 Picture 001 copy

… so that is exactly what I did :)

This is the candle that I made at the last  Lili of The Valley Open Day and there is a tutorial over at the website if you want to have a go at making one yourself - they are ever so easy :)

The link to the tutorial is here peeps and there is a nice pic of me licking the back of the tissue paper – ever the lady!!  But it works a treat.  I think this is the first pic of me since I ditched the hair dye so I am as God intended me to be and the L’Oreal stuff will not longer darken my doorstep.

I am still worth it though lol!!

Picture 002 copy

The image I used here is

Milly Winter Window

Have the sharp eyed amongst you noticed my schoolboy error? Guess who forgot to colour her hair.

Doh!!!

I only just realised -  oh what a flamin’ dope.  Such an amateur lol!!!

However, the image in the tutorial  peeps has been coloured properly!!!

Picture 004 copy

The base was made by gluing together 3 chipboard circles and then gluing another 2 dark green circles on the top and bottom of the chipboard ‘stack’. Then I stuck a Cheery Lynn  doily on the top, after inking the edges of course. I wrapped a length of  Cheery Lynn  Francesca Border around the bottom and then added a bit of ribbon.

Picture 003 copy

This is the side.

The bits and bobs cover up the border and ribbon joins. The holly leaves are punched using a Super Duper  Holly Punch and the little sentiment is from Set 18 – Greetings Postmarks.

I love this set :)

I stamped it onto kraft card, punched it out and then stuck it onto one of ...

Tim Holtz - Idea-ology - Memo Pins

…Sir Tim’s Memo Pins which you can get from Janice at Sir Stampalot.

Picture 005 copy

And in a bit closer!!!

Right that’s me done and if you get a sec do nip over for a mooch at the challenge and also the tutorial. If you make one of these do let me know cos I’d love to see what you do :)

Have the fabbiest of days sweet peeps and see you tomorrow.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx
