Blimey O’Reilly It’s Warm !!

006 copy_thumb[2]

Good morning sweet peeps and is it hot today or is it HOT!!!

It’s my turn to post over at the DTDF Cutey Crafts blog today, and here’s ….

001 copy_thumb[3]

… my card.

It features a Bildmalarna image  and this one is the sweet Mimosa Guitar.
I’m not sure that I’ve ever coloured one of these images before but they are  just gorgeous, and I coloured her with the following Copics -

Skin E000, E00, E13, R00, R02,
Hair E31, E35, E39, E50
The rest B0000, B05, B23, B32, B39, B93, B97, E30, E41, E42, E43, E50, E87, R00, R045, YG00, YG03, YG95

So just one or two then lol!!!

The beautiful papers are Maja Design - Coffee in the Arbour - White Daisies – verry pretty I think .

  004_thumb[2]

See the border there with the lace on?
Well this is the strip on the bottom of the plaid paper …

Maja Design - Coffee in the Arbour - White Daisies

… you can see it on here.
I thought it was too good not to use.

The beautiful lace is from Mary at The Ribbon Girl.
I’ve forgotten which one it is (doh!!) but I will update this when I’ve sorted my two brain cells out !!!

This wide grosgrain type ribbon was off of a bedding set I bought recently from BHS.
The crafter in me couldn’t bear to part with it and I'm glad I kept it now.

I topped it with one of Mary’s 14mm Acrylic Gems.

The daisy, which isn't in this pic, is also from Mary and it’s a 40mm White Mulberry Daisy

002 copy_thumb[3]

I haven’t used it for a while I now but I thought it had been idle for long enough!!
Yes I’m talking about the good old
Magnolia Doohickey Leaf and Swirl die.

In fact, I thought that as it had been slacking for soooo long, I would use it twice : )

003 copy_thumb[3]

So that’s my card for today.

It’s been so muggy these last few nights that I bet none of us have slept properly. I have a fan going in our bedroom all night which annoys the hell out of his Lordship because he says it gives him a sore throat. I guess it’s better than the headache he would get from me moaning it if wasn't there though. It has to be strategically placed so that not one iota of breeze blows on to him.

Anyway last night I had one of those eureka moments.
Now this is how dim I am at times peeps cos really it is plain common sense.
I used a wet flannel to dampen my skin and then the breeze from the fan chilled the wet skin right down.

Yayyy, result.

I was cool at last,  or rather cool enough to get some zzzzs.

Talking of dim,  I am not without intelligence (no, really lol), but there are times when I do the daftest things.
If you’ve followed this blog for a while you will know this fo sho!!

So the dope struck again last week.

I decided that I would get an electric mincer …

15863_1

.. this bad boy here from Lakeland (not cheap but a mincer is for life and not just for Christmas, I do believe).
The reason I got it is that doing this diet (a stone of flab gone up to now, wooohoooo), I’ve got a few recipes for stuff that used mince. I am a really fussy mare about mince and I never quite trust what’s in it from the supermarket.  Plus you can make sure that there is zilcho fat involved if you do it yourself.

So we got it home and I decided to make some burgers.

To be honest, they were not very nice because I didn't put in enough seasoning but hey ho, we live and learn and anyway, I’m digressing.

So the dope here didn't read the instructions properly and bunged all the moving parts into the dishwasher.
See that lovely shiny silver bit on the actual mincer? Well it is now dull and grey. I could have cried because to be fair, I am usually very verrry careful about stuff like that and I do generally look after me stuff!!!

So I rang Lakeland to ask if they sold anything that would restore it to it’s gorgeous shiny self again. They didn’t - there isn’t anything unfortunately – so I asked the nice lady if I could buy some spares. She said she would see what she could do but she couldn't promise and she would get back to me.

That was last Thursday and today, Mr Postie has brought me some a parcel of lovely shiny new parts. My machine now looks as good as it did before I ruined it, and better still there was no charge.

Wooohoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Now in this day and age where most companies do not know how to even spell customer service, I am truly impressed.

So a massive huge big up to Lakeland – they have restored my faith in human nature and I think they are completely and utterly awesome.

So on that happy as Larry note (whoever he is), I’m off.

Have a fabulous day, stay cool and I’ll see you soon as soon.
Huggiest of hugs to all  xx

A Fairy Nice Cup of Tea :)

Hi there sweet peeps and hope you are all OK today.
A nice loooong weekend looms, yayyyy : )

I’ve got another Lili of The Valley Birthday Fairy sneakie peekie to share today and this little lovely is called

Fairy Tea.

She’s adorable I  think.

And here she is.
I thought I’d do a different shaped card today and I used a Go-Kreate die to make the base.

I coloured her with the following Copics (it’s loong list I’m afraid!!) –

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E13, R00, R02
Hair – E31, E33, E34, E35, E39
The rest – E0000, E02, E08, E11, E30, E31, E34, E35, E39, E49, E50, E95, E97, YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG95, YR00, YR02, YR61

I did add Glamour Dust but only to her wings, headband and skirt.

The papers are from a Pressed In Time paper pad – gorgeous colours : )

Now I saw these on The Ribbon Girl website and I KNEW they would be perfect for this image.
They are
Acorn Caps and they are so sweet.

The bow is made using 15mm Pale Peach No 71 Berisiford Satin ribbon and I topped it with some Green Mix Hemp Twine then added the acorn cap on top.

It would work this way or if you upturned the acorn cap.

I even made a little tea cup out of one to match the one on the image.
Awwww : )

Not sure that handle would stand up to too much tea though lol!!!

So that’s my card for today and I hope you like it.
It was actually quite quick to put together but it looks like it took longer.

Enjoy your day and I’ll be back as soon as soon with some more cardage.

Huggiest of hugs to all xx

A Fairy Sweet Sneekie Peekie

006w

Morning sweet peeps and hope you are all OK and that you had a fab weekend.

This week, the  Lili of The Valley DT are going to be sharing some sneak peeks of a brand new release which will be out soon and you are going to LOVE this one because it’s all about fairies.

So keep your eyes peeled.

So what did I do then?

007w

This little cutie is called Cobweb.
Do you like her?

I think she’s absolutely totally and utterly sweet and I coloured her with the following Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E13, R00, R02

Hair – E31, E33, E34, E35, E39

The rest – B0000, B00, B02, B05, B22, B32, B63, B97, BV04, C00, C0, C3, C4, C5, C7, YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG95 (so just one or two then lol!!).

The papers are from the beautiful  LOTV Petal Fresh paper pads.

004w

Now you know I do love a bit of  gingham ribbon lol.

This bow was made using 25mm Black/Cream Rustic Gingham Berisford No 10 ribbon from The Ribbon Girl. I topped it off with one of Mary’s 14mm Acrylic Gems which I coloured with a Copic so that it matched.

Just peeping behind is a Magnolia Leaf & Swirl die swirl – I haven't used this for a while!!

005w

The sentiment is from the brilliant LOTV Sentiments to Fit Scroll set and I finally got around to using my Grand Nesties Scalloped Rectangles dies as well. I’ve had them ages and they don't seem to have paid for their keep yet!!

Oh and there’s some
White Liquid Pearl-age as well which I also got from Mary Ribbons.

002w

003w

So that's me done for today but I will be back tomorrow with my card for Papertake and I wouldn't be at all surprised if there wasn't another new fairy on display. Possibly in pink? Tune in then and all will be revealed Smile

Have a great day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

The Most DELISH Colours :)

Hi there me darlins and hope all is well with you today xx

The weather seems to have picked up a bit here inasmuch as it isn't raining and it isn't windy. In fact, to be fair, it's actually one of them lovely Autumnal days which make me just want to put on my snuggly coat and warm boots and go for a nice walk.

I won't of course cos I am still in the crafty zone!!
But the thought was there ....... for all of 10 seconds!!!

So I'm back today to share another sample with you and today I thought I'd share one the cards I did for last week's show and also a bag we did on one the last but one workshop. I used the beautimous  Beach Bliss papers and the colours in these papers are just so pretty. I love putting them with Kraft card (I am so into Kraft at the mo) and it seems to highlight the blues in the papers to perfection.

So .....

 DSCN0052w

... here's the card.

It's such an easy one to do but it looks lovely I think and this would work for anybody really, although I would possibly lose the bling if it was going to a bloke (unless it was for my nephew  in which case I'd add more cos it would be right up his strasse lol!!).

DSCN0057w

I added some glitter to the diamond shapes and went to town with the old sewing machine (which has never seen a scrap of material in it's life!!!).

A couple of die cut stars, a die cut button, a sparkler and a double bow made with Royal Peacock Seam Binding from The Ribbon Girl (which goes beautifully with these papers IMHO) and that's pretty much it.

 DSCN0054w

Don'tcha just LOVE cards that are easy to put together but look the biz when you're done!!

I decided to do something different for the all day workshops that we are holding at LOTV HQ and one of the projects we did at the last but one workshop was to was to decorate a bag - these are the bags that you get if you buy any stamps etc from the shop or at shows.

Louis Vitton et al, eat your heart out!!!

The papers all but cover the front so they are perfect for this and again because of the colour of the bags, they coordinate really well.

Picture-001w

I added a border which I glittered again for the sake of all things bling - I LOVE blingy (probably where my nephew gets it from!!).

I also love the fact that there is so much detail at the bottom of the paper and it looks really pretty.

Picture-004w

Magnolia swirl and peony petal dies, plus punched holly leaves and more bling :)))

 Picture-003w

A cheeky little sentiment from the SET 33 - Christmas Grungy Messages - uber cute.

Ok so that's me done for today and I hope you like my Beach Bliss post. Also, just to let you know that we are back on the telly next Tuesday at 11am - hope you can join us for an hour of crafty fun.

Take care and see you back here soon as soon and enjoy your day xxx

Simon Says …. You’re Late You Naughty Piggy!!!!!

(they didn’t really lol but it’s  true so gazillions of apols xxx!!)

So hi there lovely peeps and hope you are all OK today.

It’s that time of the week when we head across the water and catch up with our friends over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and this week and as it’s very nearly Thanksgiving in the jolly old US of A, our theme this week is

Thanksgiving / Thank You

so it’s self explan really, and for those of us who don't celebrate we can make a Thank You card / creation instead.

As always, our lovely Heidi is giving away a fabulous …

… for one lucky winner to spend …

…right here (lucky girlie!!)

So ….

Picture 001 copy

… this is what I did.

I just realised that I used the same colour theme for last week. I must be in an apricot sort of mood!!!

The papers are gorge Basic Grey WHAT'S UP 6 x 6 Cardstock and I just die cut a heart shape using the largest Spellbinders Nestabilities CLASSIC HEART 6 Die and layered it up using dimensionals.

I had a bit of a mishap (surely not I hear you cry!!) because this was the second attempt.

I have sort of started inking up the edges of practically everything (I blame Debi at Crab Apple Crafts!). So I am merrily inking away when the paper slipped and I ended up with a nice big brown streak across the paper.  Well this is not at all attractive as you can imagine,  so I had to start again – doh!!!

Picture 004 copy

I topped one of the fab Prima Craftable blooms with some Hero Arts 24 Flowers SUNSHINE PRINT CH206 Orange blooms. Then I had a little die cutting sesh with the Memory Box Delicate Fern die and of course the leaf bit from the Magnolia leaf and swirl die set.

 Picture 005 copy

Now where would we be without SAFMAT Self-Adhesive Printing Film???

I really do love this stuff and use it all the time. If you’ve never used it, go and and have a go – you will be hooked!!! Yopu juts print out whatever you want onto it, cut around the printed bit, remove the backing sheet and put it onto your card.  A quick rub and the film becomes practically invisible.

Awesome!!!

Picture 002 copy

Picture 003 copy

So that’s the old card done and I’ll be back soon as soon with some more cardage. If you get a sec, nip over and check out the challenge – and if you fancy joining in we would love to see you there :)

Have the fabbiest day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx
