Hi peeps and hope you are all OK and having a nice weekend :)

It’s time for another Robin Girl Challenge and this month our colours were chosen by my bezzie blog bud and cyber twin. Mrs Kath.

colour challenge label 12

The colours she chose are oh so pretty and they are

Our friends at Lili Of The Valley have once again kindly given us a £10 voucher to spend in the Lili Of The Valley store, so many gorgeous stamps to choose from!

We also have a Ribbon Mini Kit in either lilac or green from The Ribbon Girl and the winner can choose the kit they prefer

october prize

So there are 2 FABULOUS reasons to go and check it all out when you get a sec.

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did. The image is one of my new Sugar Nellies  from Funky Kits and this one is called Hello Little Robin. I coloured it with the following Copics -

E000,E00, E21, R11 (skin), E50 (hair), BV0000, BV000, BV00, BV02, C00, C1, C3, C5, E31, E33, E42, G94, R27, YG0000, YG01, YG03 (the rest).

All the papers are from Nitwits – I’ll check out the collection and edit this bit later on!!

What do you think of that bow!!

The colours are even prettier IRL  and I used  lilac 38mm faux silk ribbon topped off with a lime green polka dot button :)

Picture 005c copy

And a few strips of 15mm pencil stripe ribbon in meadow green.  and the ribbon and the button are of course from The Ribbon Girl.

I added a strip of paper lace made with my fave Tilda Lace Die

Picture 003c copy s

So that’s the old card done and I’ll be back tomoz with a late card and a candy winner – woohooo!! I’ve now got to go and try and sort out the email issue I’m having thanks to Mr Stoopid Hacker once again (total idiots aren't they!!)

Not For A Long Time ……..

Picture 008c copy

Hi peeps and hope all is well in your world today.

It’s that time of the week where we head over to Papertake Weekly to see what’s happening there and this week, as well as some gorgeous cardage,  we have 2 lots of news – a fabulous new DT member and also what’s going to be happening next week, so if you get a sec, nip and check it all out :)

So as our reggies will know., the last week of the month is sketchie time and this month ….

sketch #60

… it’s this bad boy here.

We are also sponsored by the ever so fab Simon Says Stamp and as always there is a nice little voucher up for grabs to spend in the shop :)

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did and once again I actually stuck to the sketch (shock horror!!!).

Now not for ages have I used a Sugar Nellie (why ever not Dawny???)  but when I saw these, well how could you resist them?

This little sweetie is Little Apprentice and of course she is from Funky Kits.

I coloured her with Copics and these are the colours I used -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E42, E50, (hair), C00, C1, C3 R17,  R85,  RV0000, RV00, YG0000, YG01, YG03 (the rest).

The papers are Bo Bunny Crazy In Love and Memory Box 8 x 11 Moroccan – Licorice and these are both from Tracy over at Dies To Die For.

 Picture 004c copy

And just to make it extra extra  pretty, how about a yummy bow and a bit of bling in the form of some 15mm Gingham ribbon and a sparkly button, both of course from The Ribbon Girl.

Picture 007c copy

And there’s also some gorgeous Wild Orchid Crafts blooms and some pretty little  pearl star beads

The diamond pins are from my stash but if anybody wants any, I can probably get them for them.

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So that’s me done for today and I’m rushing off peeps cos I have loads of stuff to do ie commissions prep for the Copicific Retreat, work etc etc and then I am getting the badger streak in my hair removed!!! One of these days I will just say sod it to the vanity and let nature take it’s course… but not yet!!!

I’ll be back tomoz and do you want a little sneakie peekie of the cardage?

Well here you go then …..

Picture 008c copy copy …. merry and bright it would seem peeps!!!

See you back here in the morning and have great day and huggiest of hugs to all xxxx

That's Better lol xxx

Call me sad, but I had to do one I liked - it was upsetting me!!!

So I did another challenge, and this time I joined in over at Friday Sketchers - a really gorgeous sketch I think. Just up my street.

So I thought for a change, I'd use a stamp I haven't used for a while, so I chose this little Sugar Nellie - sweet Daisy. You can get her at Funky Kits.

Of course, I still used me PMs and then gave her a bit of sparkle with the old faithful Glamour Dust. I can't help myself seemingly!!

Ohh, wishy washy editing here, sorry chicks!!!!

That gorgeous stripey paper is PP - Little Fleurs (one of my faves and sadly no more, sniff sniff!!), and the gingham is Mad About Cards.

The big pearls were from Creative Pastimes.

I made the flower using a small scalloped nestie.
It looks a bit weird here cos I didn't straighten it before I took the pic (so sloppy photography as well as sloppy editing lol xxx). The little button was in the bottom of my stash box.

And I know I said I was giving Martha Stewarts doo-dah a day off, but I changed my mind!! This is why the other one committed suicide I think, cos I just worked the poor sod to death.

So I am a bit happier now. I just wasn't fussed on the other one.

So I am off to watch Corrie. Once again, have a fab night and I won't pester you again - well not until tomorra.

See ya then xxxxx

Foxy Gorjuss Papertake Weekly xx

She IS foxy gorjuss :))

The challenge over at Papertake Weekly this week is a colour challenge and it is Hot Chocolate (pink and orange for the 'hot' and brown for the 'chocolate').

I kept the layout fairly simple so that the elements stood out.

The image was coloured with my fabbylicious PMs and highlighted with a sprinkling of Glamour Dust. The papers are both PP and those beautiful blooms are of course from the ever wonderful Poppicrafts, as are the 2 small brads in the centre of the top flowers.

You can see them better here - I thought they went well with the paper

Well I have been away from the land of blog for what seems like agaes - even though it is only 6 days, but it has been a fairly mad week. My boss was taken into hozzie with suspected meningitus and I was a little concerned as even though my understanding is that there are various strains, I had been sitting 3 feet away from him during our weekly team meeting the day before - oooo errr missus!!!. It isn't meningitus and they still don't know what it is.

Then I had all the prep to do cos it is card club week this week. We had the Ellesmere Port group last night and I was delighted to see my blog bud Caryn there. It was lovely to meet ya chick xxxx

So things are back to normal again now :))x.
Thank you for the lovely e-mails asking if I had dropped off the planet or if I was poorly sicko xxxxx I will be back later with summut cardy, but I'm just off to the dentist. I need to go and look for me courage first, cos it seems to have cleared off today lol xxx

Ohh I am such a great big mardy wussy baby!!

Laters xxxxxx

No 3 - Fabulous Maggie xxx

I so love this image xxx

It is one of my all time fave Sugar Nellie stamps
And would you believe it, but this is the third post today!!
Holy moley, I will be wearing out the Blogland welcome mat xxx

But I did have the most peaceful and quiet afternoon, even if my Aunty didnt (she loves it really :)
So I made hay while the sun shone. Well I made cards while the sun didn't shine, but that don't sound quite right somehow lol xx

I did this one for the Sugar Bowl challenge which is to use one piece of patterned paper only. Well as you know, I do love me papers and I thought this would give me a real headache, but I realised that the layout from the previous card would be perfect as that only uses one.

Et voila lol xxx

Now, just to be different (perish the thought!!), I thought I'd give myself more of a challenge and NOT use any PP paper. I am ashamed to admit this, but I have boxes and boxes of the most beautfiul 12 x 12 paper which I cannot bear to put the scissors near, so I decided I would stop being so utterley ridiculous and use some of that.

Sad thing is, that I found a little piece that I had obviously used before in a previous moment of wild abandon, so I decided to use that bit - but I don't know what it is of where I got it from cos it's been so long since I went in those boxes.

I had a teeny scrap left so I paper pieced her hat and bag - so they match natch, cos they must!!! Of course, the PMs and Glamour Dust were still brought out. Well, when I say brought out, they never really get put away!!

Funny that :))))

The gorgous ribbons are Poppicrafts.

And isn't the pin fab!!!

The lovely and talented Penny, who isn't blogging at the mo, made it and I absolutely love it. I thought the colours would be perfect for this card. Penny if you are reading this chick, I hope all is well with you and I for one cannot wait for you to start up again cos you are such an inspiration and I miss your fabulous work, truly.

So this is the last card for today.

I have just been watching Dancing On Ice and I'm just waiting for the results.
Ohh I yell ya, Ray Quinn is awesome - how fantastic was he!!!! And wasn't Ruth Henshall horrible to Roxy, who I cannot stand (but I do love Dan, before Kath wallops me!!!). I may not like the girl but at least I know her name. I thought it was really poor of Ruthie - she is obviously picking up nasty bits from Jason, the crabby old boot!!!!. Back to the West End for you love if you can't be a bit nicer I say!!!!

Loved Jessica and Pavel, although I am reminded of his skanky grey undies every time I look at him, poor lad!!! I do wish I wasn't cos it does sort of detract from his awesome skating. He has such a sweet face though. And I loved Zoe as well - espesh the music. There is something about Mamma Mia that just makes you want to get up and dance - or is that just me!!!. I think tonight it might be Colleen and Donal who are in the skate off, but we'll see.

So that is it for this evening peeps. I'll be back tomorra for Papertake Weekly, but till then, have the most fabulous of evenings.

Huggiest of hugs xxxxx

Pretty Pastels xxx

I just love this image
And this is my card for this weeks Secret Crafter challenge, which is a gorgeous sketch by my good blog bud Jill xxx

The image is Sugar Nellie Daisy from Funky Kits - so very sweet. I coloured her with the PMs and used a bit of Glamour Dust just to give it a bit of sparkle, and the papers are PP. I really love the sketch and will use it again, I'm sure.

I double layered the image using Nesties. Ohhh there are some fab ones coming out and they have gone straight on my 'I-want,-nay-must-have' list. Possibly the NEC????? Fingers crossed.

And here's another one - it's not for a challenge, but I thought I'd share.

This one is for a very special blog bud of mine, the lovely and awesomely talented Dawn. It was her birthday last week and silly moi wasn't organised in time so I am late, major slaps!!!. So this is for you chick, and it is on it's way to you, along with mahoosive apologies for being a crap friend, and a little something which I will put on here after you've got it xxxxx
These are 2 of my new Tilda stamps - just gorgeous

The papers are PP and the ribbons are the wonderful Poppicrafts. The sentiment was a freebie from a card mag and the little pearls were from Creative Pastimes

I just stamped the flower onto the back of the card, coloured it a little with PMs and highlighted with the usual sparkly stuff.

And another view here lol xxxx

Well what a funny few days.
After an all but sleepless night on Thursday, I went to the dentist to get my filling replaced. I needn't have worried cos she fixed it straight away and without the need for an injection (ohhhh thank you God xxx). Mind you, she still charged me £71!! I nearly wept, but I was just glad to get it done. My dentist is also someone I used to play tennis with in my 'fit' days and I know her quite well. She knows I am just a bag of nerves at the mere mention of the 'D' word. So over the years she has built up my confidence, and I was going along fairly happily.

But then the dreaded hygienist struck.

OMG - is it just me or is it just really brutal the way they manhandle yer gob??? I tell you, she is a lovely lady but put that teeth cleaning thingie in her hand and she morphs into the terminator. So it put me off going. My dentist on the other hand is so gentle and as a favour, she is going to do me scale and polishes, bless her heart.

And they are now doing beauty treatments there as well, including botox!!! So I am having a complimentary manicure next time I go and I am also having a free consultation with the botox doctor!!! But if it hurts, then she can do one, cos I'd rather have lines that pain lol xxx I'll keep you posted. But Marlene darlin, if we meet again at the NEC, you might not recognise me chick, cos I could end up looking like Bo Derek instead of Bo Diddley - fabulous!!!!

After the trauma of the dentist, Nikkie and I went for lunch, except it was after 4pm so it was late lunch , early dinner - not sure what you call it really. It has been ages since we did that and it was nice just to have time to chat and catch up. Obv the diet went out of window AGAIN (hang head in utter shame!!) Then we did a bit of retail therapy and just happened to end up in M&S where we bought nice yummy and fairly healthy food. But the diet went for a burton yet again cos we shared a bag (v small) of jelly babies on the way home - but they don't count if you eat them in the car while you are moving!!!

And I've been very very verry bad today cos this afternoon we took Kyla to Parkgate which will mean diddly squat to most of you. But it is a village on the Wirral Peninsula and is very popular with tourists, and also people who live fairly near. The beach there is actually grass and if you look across the estuary, you can almost see my Mum's old house :)))) During high tides, the water comes right up to the sea wall and people come from all over to see it, along with the bird life it brings with it.

Now I am probably not selling this place to you up to now, but hang on a sec....

It is also quite famous for its shrimps and ice cream. The most delicious, gorgeous proper ice cream. And that's not all - there is the most awesome fish and chip shop that does the best fish and chips in the world - I kid you not. So we had to partake, of course. It would have been rude not to lol xxx We sat on the sea wall and ate them - it is practically the law to do that there - I would not dream of doing that anywhere else but there, it seems so right. It sounds kind of chavvy-tastic but it isnt. We didn't have the ice cream today so it wasn't a total disaster- too chilly -but the fish and chips were fab and lil Kyla tucked in and really enjoyed hers, plastic fork and all!!!!.

So although we had a nice afternoon, it has been yet another bad diet day - I really have to knuckle down cos at this rate, I am never going to lose the lardage and I will be destined to be a waddler for the rest of my life. Is that what you want Dawny P, to be a weeble waddler? ( inner voice that bit lol xxx) Then cut it out girl!!!!!

Maybe the botox doc does a bit of liposuction on the quiet. I could book myself in for a bit of that as well then the fat bits could just get hoovered away (puke, bluh!!!). Then I could eat what I like, go and get hoovered and then eat what I like, go and get hoovered, and on and on. It would be like Groundhog day - but for real hogs lol xxxxx Fantastic!!!

Ohh before I depart, did anyone see Biggins doing his Danny Zucho impression on the comic relief dancing thing??? I almost wet myself laughing - it was his dodgy wig that got me!! Sooo funny, bless him. He was supposed to be dancing but it was more like a ruddy stroll !! He looked like he was stalking Nikky Whatsername!!! I LOVE Biggins - I just want to cuddle him (and an added bonus is that he would make me look thin as well!!)

And on that note, I will say tara!! Have a fab Saturday evening and I will be back tomorra with some cardy stuff cos R is watching a film and I am going to have to go back to my card room cos I don't wanna watch it. So I will be forced to make a few more cards :)))

It's a tough, rotten, horrible job but someone has to do it lol xxx.

Huggety hugs xxxx.

Blog Candy, Sneak Peeks and a Willow Sketchie xxx

Ohh there's a lot going on here - it's a post in 3 parts so best get comfy lol xxx

OK, sneaky peakies first.
I was a bit more sneaky yesterday cos you couldn't really see the image, just my fave punch in the world :))x

This is another card for this month's Tutti Fruity Raspberry Ribbons kit. This time I used the pink organza and the gorgeous floral satin ribbons, along with the sweetest lil Sugar Nellie image, from Funky Kits. I won't even tell you what I coloured her with lol xxx The pretty papers are PP and I double printed them - see Liz's tutorial here.

In this month's ribbon kit, you get some little fruity charms and I also used a couple of them.

You can see them better here.

-------------------------------------------------------------
And now for a challenge - the Willow Sketchie Challenge
And it was a challenge, but thanks Sharon cos I really enjoyed this.

So this is the sketch.
But Sharon don't make it that easy girls, oh no!!

So, you have to follow the sketch natch, but also you have to put 2 hand drawn shapes out of patterned paper on and you had to use at least 1 Willow Design item.

And if that wasn't enough, you had to make a keepsake.
Phew lol xxx

Well as luck would have it, this lil fairy flew into my stamp collection today all the way from Willow, and I could not resist using her.

And this is what I made.

The papers are Willow Design, except the crown and the bow, which I drew onto PP paper. I thought I had better tell you what they were cos I have said it before and I'll very likely say it again, by I won't be giving Picasso any sleepless nights with my drawing ability.

The ribbon is from my stash, the little pink pearly dots were from Creative Pastimes, and that beautiful butterfly lace was a prezzie from my lovely blog buddy Dawn xxx. It was one of the things in the parcel she sent me yesterday and was the only thing that put a smile on my fizzog all day!! How gorgeous it is, and even nicer IRL

So we've done the sketch, and we've used the right stuff and we've drawn (badly) 2 things, so what about the keepsake bit?

Well it isn't a card, it's lil box, and one with dividers.

I thought Kyla could use it to keep her array of hair bobbles, ribbons, clips, slides etc in. I got the template for it from The Cutting Cafe and it is really easy to do. I will use it again for sure and it will come in handy for Easter.

BLOG CANDY bit is now at the top xx

The Piggy Is Drunk xxxxx

You thought I meant me didn't you, naughty bloglies -
you know me too well lol xxxx

I just love this image and I thought I would use it for this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge, which is 'have a giggle'

Well I do like a giggle, and I do love pigs and this makes me smile everytime I look at it, so I thought it would be perfect. I know she's called Porridge but I changed her name to Esmerelda - a friend of mine had 2 Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pigs and they were called Quasi and Esmerelda and I think they are the coolest names, so I nicked it from her!!

The image is a Sugar Nellies image from Funky Kits and the papers are PP (Milk Chocolate Dots and then I ran the paper through again using a pretty pink solid). It's coloured with PMs just for a change and the ribbon and three little stone things are from my stash. I did the sentiment on the puter and that's pretty much it.

Here comes the angle .......

Now I have to say that my camera is playing me up something rotten (as is the mouse on my PC). I don't know what is up with it so these aren't awesome and I may end up re-taking them in natural light tomorra and see if it makes a difference.

While we are on the subject of giggling - well we were at the beginning of the post before I went off at a tangent about cameras and mice. But anyway, our Kyla has been been on top form today and I thought I would share this cos it really made me giggle xx

She has 2 buggies for her dollies and she had one doll in each of them and was pushing both buggies round, taking them for a walk (like little girls do). Well I think I may have mentioned this to you before but all her dolls are called 'Baby'. So Emma asks her as she is 'walking' them round, what their names are, just to see if this has changed. So Kyla tells her, pointing to one of them, 'this one is Baby Haydn (Haydn is my niece's baby and we all call him Baby Haydn), and then she points to the other one and says 'and this one is Baby Jesus'

We just collapsed - you could not make it up!! I wouldn't mind but both dolls are dressed in pink!! I'm sure the Lord won't mind though :))

I have to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who tooted our sale. Considering the short notice and the fact that our marketing and advertising campaign was basically non existant and it was mainly word of mouth, we didn't do too badly. We STILL haven't sold it all and we may well have one final sale in a few months.

I said I would do the random number thingie and I did and it picked number 5
which is Diane W so can you e-mail me your snail mail addy please chick and I'll get a little something nice off to ya to say thanks.

Well that's me done for today.
I'll be back manana cos it's Papertake Weekly time again - corrrr, don't it come round quick!!
Have a great evening y'all xxxx

How Gorge ......

... is the new PP download?

I am so 'hearting it' and I bet I'm not the only one :)
It was one of those 'I HAVE to have this' things as soon as I saw it and it is absolutely utterly gorgeous.

So I couldn't resist using it for this week's Spoonful of Sugar Challenge which is based on a faberoonie sketch by Nikkie and I really enjoyed doing this one.

The image is a Sugar Nellies Leanne Ellis beauty which I got from Funky Kits and coloured with PMs and highlighted with lots of sparkly Glamour Dust. The gorgeous ribbon is from a past Raspberry Ribbons kit and the sentiment is very very nice but I lost the back to it during the clear up operation so I don't know where it's from, sorry chicks!!!

Well this is a short post here but if I get time, I will be back later with another!!

Off to Birkenhead now to collect the post and then back to do a spaggy bol for dinner - with a bit of help from Lloyd Grossman !!!! Someone once said he has irritable vowel syndrome which cracked me up and I think about it every time I see his name!!!

See ya later and have the fabbiest of days xxxx

Black & White & Seeing Spots xx

Back to normal again now - so it's time for the first Papertake Weekly challenge of 2009, which is Seeing Spots.
All you have to do is use circles or spots on your card and that's it.

The DT have made a plethora of spotty wonderfulness, so nip over and have a nosey :))

This is my spotty creation lol xxx
I was in a sort of black and white mood as you can probably tell. I used to use these colours a lot once upon a time and I do still love them, espesh with an accent colour thrown in for good measure, although there's not one on here!!!

The image is Blossom, one of the new Sugar Nellies Leanne Ellis stamps (I'm loving her spotty frock lol xxx) Papers are a mixture of PP and also a set by Marieke which I bought a while ago but they are fab. The spotty ribbon is Poppicrafts, (sale on girls, so fill yer boots xx) the old MSBP came out cos it has rested for long enough and the teeny bit of colouring was done with my beloved black PM pen. You probably can't see from the pic but there are tiny black beads on the flowers but being the dippy boot I am, I cannot remember where I got them from - doh!!!

It was our first card club of the year last night - the new club in Ellesmere Port. I must say that I thought nobody would turn up as the roads were lethal. Torvill and Dean could have done Bolero on one of them near here, I kid you not, and I did a spectacular skid at one point, which was a bit scary!!!

However, 20 lovelies turned up and I was soooo chuffed, including Shell who came all the way from Birkenhead, bless her.

The room was really cosy and toasty warm and we had a great evening. Poor Jan missed it cos she went flying on some ice yesterday - I think secretly she has been practicing for Dancing On Ice which starts soon and which we just love (we call it Skating On Thin Ice lol xxx). Hope you are ok soon Jan cos we missed ya xxx

I have made 3 resolutions this year, 2 of which will no doubt be broken
by then end of next week.

The first one was to re-organise the tip that is my craft room, cos peeps it was BAD. And thanks to a really ugly but sensationally practical storage unit thing from Costco, I have done that one - woohooo!!! I cannot tell you how virtuous I feel, and I get this sort of sickly smug smirk now when I go in there.

The second one which I hope I will stick to is to try and blog / blog hop a bit more regularly (mmm, well I will try!!)

And the third one which has about as much chance of being stuck to as me winning the lottery, is to lose some lardage (again!!). I did lose nearly a stone last year but due to my greedy girl antics and love of all things buttery, creamy, and generally unhealthy (you know, the sort of stuff that clogs up your arteries just by looking at it) well it all piled on again. Although in my defence (your Honour lol xx) I am still 3 pounds less than when I lost weight last time, so it wasn't a total disaster!!!

I might go back to fat club and I might not.

It sort of put me off when I hadn't been for 3 weeks or so and they send me a letter sort of saying that I was not to beat myself up for putting the weight back on, and basically they forgave me for being a weak willed fat bloater of a failure!!!!!

Ha!!!!!

What did they know, cos I was still losing it without having to fork out 5 squid each week, so Mrs Slim Jim Marjorie Dawes, if perchance you are reading this, there was nowt to forgive.

But there is something about getting weighed each week by a scowling stranger that sort of keeps you on the straight and narrow a bit.

So maybe I will waddle down there next week.

But I probably won't cos I will probably be too busy stuffing my face with chips and cheese and Lurpack butter and bacon sarnies. Or even better, all of those things together on one humungous big butty lol xxx

Be back later with some cardage cos I am starting to feel the crafty thing again after the pooey last few weeks xxxx
