Me & My Big Mouth!!!!!

Picture 008c copy

Hi chicksies and hope you are all OK.

Well me and my BIG mouth :(.

When I set the Papertake Weekly challenges some months ago, stoopidly I assumed that as it was July we would be having a summer of sorts.  Mmmmm!!!

Well this is the second time now I’ve assumed this on both occasions the weather hasn’t been too good. So although today our challenge is

Hot Hot Hot

it’s actually  not not not lol!!!

But it isn't all bad cos we are sponsored by those lovely peeps Mary and Andrea  who are the one and only …

ribbon girl logo

And we have one of the new mini kits to give away this week. They may be mini in name but they are crammed with all sorts of goodies …

mini kit fuschia

… and the colours are perfect for this challenge today :)

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did.

I used this very sweet Swiss Pixie – Ice Ceam Birgitta which is available from  Tracy at Dies To Die For – and coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21 (skin), E33, E42, E50 (hair), RV0000, RV00, RV10, R85, YG0000, YG01 (clothes etc)

I forgot to add her rosy cheeks, doh!!

The papers are My Minds Eye – Life Of The Party – and I also used my new Creative Book Pages Die, which Tracy has on offer,  for the base and also for cutting the design paper.

I really like the shapes in this set.

Picture 002c copy

Do you like the little ice cream??

It’s just a bit of brown card shaped into a cone, stuffed with cotton wool and then dipped in glue and then chunky glitter and topped off with a bit of bling:) The self adhesive rhinestones are from Wild Orchid Crafts

Picture 007c copy

This beautimous ribbon is 38mm Grosgrain Stripe ribbon in pink and white and this really does behave itself and ties so nicely. It is of course from The Ribbon Girl, as is the little button.

And finally the sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.

Picture 004c copy      Picture 005c copy

Picture 006c copy

So that’s me done for today and apologies for putting the heeby jeebies on the weather. Next time maybe I should try doing all wet and damp and cold challenges and then maybe it will turn out nice lol!!!!

I’ll see you tomoz and leave you with a bit of a sneakie peek at my card ….

Picture 010c copy copy

… oooerrr, it’s a bit different!!!!

Enjoy your day and hugs to all xxx

Cheeky But Clean & Fresh:)

Picture 014c copy

I know I don’t usually appear here  on a Sunday but  I have had a real job getting this to post  so sorry lovely peeps,  please pretend that it’s still Friday :)o  and Mr Blogger and Mr Live Writer, can you please sort out your probs cos it is a real nightmare for us – grrrrr!!!!!

Over at the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge this week we have a rather fab sketch for you which was done by our Jane and ….

… here it is :)

This week we are sponsored by 7 Kids College Fund who are offering a fabulous $20 voucher for their store!

So what did I do with the sketch?

Picture 007c copy

Here you go - and not a swirl in sight today,  but that probably won't last!!!

I love love LOVE these colours – even though it’s all quite busy it still looks clean which I do like.

I used cheeky Lace Jeans Tilda and coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E33, E42, E50 (hair), B0000, B000, B00, B12, YG0000, YG01. YG03(clothes etc) and I added a dash of polychromos pencil magic here and there as well.

The papers are all from  First Edition Up Up  & Away 6 x 6 paper pack (gorgeous) and the little tag is also from the pack cos there are all sorts of bits and bobs and not just papers in there.

Copics, Tilda and papers are all from Simon Says Stamp

And there is a cheeky bit of one of the  Die-namics Dizzy Doily Duo peeping out and these are available from Dies To Die For

Picture 012c copy

It was still  out so I used the Spellbinders Rose Creations dies again but I used them in a different way to the earlier card and just stencilled then and then layered them up and added some bling.

The centre of the middle flower was made up of single gems. I nicked the idea from our very clever Andrea at Papertake Weekly – I think it looks fab :)

Picture 013c copy

Speaking of Andrea, this gorgeous bow was made from Berisfords 16mm Pencil Stripe ribbon – I used  Meadow Green – and it’s from The Ribbon Girl. The lace is 45mm white Guipure lace and is available from Wild Orchid Crafts

Picture 008c copy      Picture 009c copy

Picture 010c copy

So that’s the card done and I’m off now to finish some bits and bobs, then we are getting ready for a house full of visitors later.

Richard’s mum is moving to Cornwall tomorrow so it’s going to be a bit of a sad day of us and especially for Richard. His brothers and sister all moved away as young adults and he is the only one that stayed up north so it’s going to be a wrench and I feel really sorry for him as he goes to see her at least twice a week and has taken Kyla every Sunday morning since she’s been about 6 months old. We’re sorting out Skype and flights there aren't too bad so he can nip down as often as he can but I’m sure it won’t be the same for him and I know he has been dreading it.

But we will have a nice afternoon and I hope the weather picks up a bit cos it’s chucking it down at the mo (yesterday was glorious and we spent most of it in the garden).

Enjoy your Sunday and I’ll see you in the week.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

There’s Swirls Jim But Not As We Know It!!!!!!

Picture 006c copy

Howdy lovely peeps and hope you are all OK xxx

Today's the day when we are almost at the end of the week … but not quite. And it’s time to check out what’s happening over at the Lili Of The Valley Thursday challenge

This week we have a sketch for you done by our very own Donalda ….

image

… and here it is :)

We also have a very nice gift voucher for one lucky girlie to spend in the shop ….

GIFT VOUCHER[4]

So what did I do with the sketch?

Well I actually stuck to it which is quite unlike me cos I am a bit of a tinkerer sometimes!!

Picture 001c copy

And this is the result.

I used  Emma – Rose Garden and she is one of the new Here Come The Girls release. Is it me or do these just keep getting better and better?

I know it’s the same colour scheme as the last 2 but that’s cos I am too bone idle to put the Copics away so they are still out on the desk.  And so they ones I used are  ….

E000, E00, E21 (skin), E50 (hair), E000, E11, E42,  G21, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, RV14, RV23, Y06, YG0000, YG01. YG03 (clothes etc).

And once again there were no polychromos today :)

The papers were a freebie from a mag but they are all My Minds Eye Quite Contrary but Tracy sells them over at Dies to Die For and the lace and self adhesive rhinestones are both from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Picture 005c

Now, I know that I used the Magnolia leaf and swirl die yet again BUT today I did something a bit different with it. I chopped it up and then re-arranged it :)

I also used my new Spellbinders Rose Creations die set to make the flower – soooo easy peasy and there is a great vid on you tube which shows you how to put one together ….

I saw a few but this one seems to be the best :)

Both dies are from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 002c copy     Picture 003c copy

Picture 004c copy

So we are all done for today but I’ll leave you with a sneakie peek of tomorrow’s cardage just so you can see that I have used a different colour combi, but the question is  ….

sp1                   sp3            sp2

…  have I given the old swirl die a day off?

What do you think peeps??

Tune in in the morning  and all will be revealed lol!!

Enjoy your day and hugs to all xxx

Simon Says Sew :)

Picture 005c copy

Morning peeps and what a disappointment the weather is here today.

It isn't cold but it’s greyer than a single bloke's undies quite frankly!!!!

And on that rather  unsavoury note – hope you weren't eating then, ugghhhhh  lol!! – let’s nip over and see what’s going on at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge today.

Our theme this week is

A Stitch In Time

As always there is a whopping prize ….

… which you can spend …

… right here :)

Picture 001c copy copylow

You can use real or faux stitching –  I went for faux :)

So using a very similar colour theme as yesterday this what I did. It was actually the  second card I’d done for this challenge but my DT pack arrived and this sweet little stamp was in it and I just HAD to use it there and then (sad I know but there ya go!!)   She is Mimi About Town and she a Penny Black wood mounted stamp.   And as it happens, the colours I used are very similar to those used on the front of the stamp are they are -

E000, E00, E21 R11 (skin), E33, E35, E37, E77 (hair), G21, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, RV14, RV23, Y06, YG0000, YG01. YG03 (clothes etc).

No polychromos today :)

I just happened to have some of those funky buttons in my stash.  I’ve had them years  and didn’t really like them but they look quite good on the wheels I thought.

Like lime green alloys :)

Picture 006c copy copylow

The papers I used are Prima Flowers 6 x 6 Paper Pack Jack & Jill Celebrate.

And it’s here again!!

Yes the Magnolia leaf and swirl die is on yet another card. I LOVE this die – you may have noticed lol.  I feel a bit sorry for the leaf bit cos that hasn't been used yet… but it will be!!

I also used the Magnolia Tilda Lace die which is another fave.

Picture 002c copy copylow      Picture 003c copy copylow

Picture 004c copy copylow

I have to admit that I have been pleased with yesterday’s and today’s cards which doesn’t often happen.

We had a nice walk up to the pub last night and had a really nice meal. The pub is in the middle of the village and it used to be one of those places where you got the ‘Slaughtered Lamb’ effect when you went in – or at least that’s how we and a couple of other non born and bred villagers felt.  We never found the landlord  very friendly either,  boo hisssss.

Then last year the pub closed down cos miserable manager did a bunk  (allegedly) and the pub was  really just rotting away. Then it re-opened a few weeks ago having had a complete refurb with a new and friendly manager and a great menu.  You are made to feel so welcome and the food is FAB –  a million per cent better than it was, and the atmosphere is really good in there now.  And it’s nice to see it busy after seeing it looking neglected – just what our lovely village needed.

So last night I had a British tapas with all sorts of yummies – very different and  it was AMAZING.   Rich had one of the specials which was called The Greedy Pig (and hold that thought cos I know what you’re thinking lol!!). It consisted of ham hock on a bed of proper mushy peas – the real deal ones that you have to soak, a  bowl of little  home made sausages, a bowl of the best crackling I have ever had, and ….. wait for it …. pig’s trotters!!!!!  I have never eaten pigs trotters in my life – perish the very thought cos it’s like cannibalism lol. But I was curious and I have to say that they are delicious!!!

A tasty treat indeed. And now that I;ve had them I feel like  a true northern girl!!!  Then we had a stroll back, holding hands and pretending we like each other,  in an attempt to walk off the calories we had just eaten ( we were very good and didn't do pudding!!).

Incidentally you might have guessed that I am still undecided about which diet to do next, so until then I am on the See Food diet!!!!

Right,  on that note I am off to do my work. I’ll see you tomorrow and if you get a sec nip over and check out the challenge and rather fab DT cardage peeps.

Enjoy your day and hugs to all xxx

If You Want To Get Ahead ……..

Picture 012c copy

Hi peeps and hope you are all OK :)

I’m a bit late cos my poor camera forgot to tell me that it needed a bit of life breathing into it – I know just how it feels!!.

But here we are now and it’s my first card of the week which is for the one and only Papertake Weekly and we have an

Anything Goes

theme this week with the optional extra is to use buttons but it is only optional and you don't have to use it if you don't want to :)

And of course, as it’s the first one of the month, we are sponsored by those lovely girlies Lisa and Laila over at Lili Of The Valley.

And check out what’s up for grabs peeps ….

GIFT VOUCHER

Woohoooo :)

Picture 007c copy

So this is my card.

I’m keeping the waffle to a minimum today cos I am late over here and poor old Richard is chomping at the bit and hurrying me along as we are nipping up to our local for din dins:)

The cute little Lili Of The Valley girlie is New Hat BUT she isn't a stamp. Well I do have her as a stamp, but this one was part of a freebie pack with this month’s Papercraft  Inspirations mag. If you haven’t got a copy, do nip and bag yourself one chicksies cos this freebie is fabulous!!!

I coloured her with Copics and polychromos pencils and for the life of me cannot find the list. I have definitely not chucked it out though so I’ll keep searching and update when I get me trotters on it.

And you’ll see not one  swirl made with the  Magnolia leaf and swirl die today but 2!!! I got mine from the ever so fabby Simon Says Stamp

Picture 011c copy

This beautimous bow is made from 38mm Grosgrain Stripe ribbon, some Baker's Divine twine and a button from the old stash. The ribbon and twine are both from The Ribbon Girl

Picture 013c copy

The paper is a mixture which I don't normally do – I usually stick to the one brand – but these looked so nice that it was a shame not to put them together. They are Crate Paper Neighborhood 12 x 12 Collection Kit and Wild Rose Studio Gorgeous Ginghams and both are availabe from Tracy at Dies To Die For.

Picture 008c copy      Picture 009c copy

Picture 010c copy

So I’m off for some grub and I’ll leave you with a sneakie peekie of tomorrow’s cardage ….

See you tomoz and have a great evening and hugs to all xxx

Friday Pink Fest :)ooooo

Picture 010c copy

Morning chicksies and hope all is well with you today.

My weekend starts in about 4.5 hours – woohooo – and apart from collecting her ladyship from school later today,  I am doing not a lot apart from being glued to the telly for a tennis-tastic weekend!!! I have me card club prep to do as well but I will fit that in around the matches.

But before we get there it’s time to head over to the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and today it’s our special monthly challenge and our theme is

Anything Goes with the optional extra of Shabby Chic

And we are sponsored today by those lovely peeps over the water ….

… so check it all out if you get a sec lovelies :)

Picture 008c copy

This is what I did.

Yes no 6 x 6 today cos I saw these DoCrafts Tulip papers and I just fell in love with them.

I got an A5 pack and the papers have a linen effect which adds a nice bit of texture – you cannot see it in these pics :) There is also a pack which has step card blanks in and they are quite BIG I have to say so I thought for something different I'd use one.  I didn't think about how it would photograph – not easy for me as I always struggle with easels or anything other than a square. But the last pic gives a better idea of the overall shape.

I got mine from Purple Butterfly Crafts  and Lesley has now set up a shop blog which has all sorts of fab stuff on it including a useful info section. And all the courses and workshops that are taking place including the ones I do are on there as well   – you can see it here :)

I stamped the oh so sweet Hello Little Butterfly Tilda  onto the largest Nestabilites Labels 18 and then coloured her with these Copics -

E00, E000, E21 (skin), E40, E42, E50 (hair), B0000, B000, B00, RV0000, RV000, RV00 (clothes etc) and I also adder polychomos pencil detail as well.

Nesties, Tilda stamp, Tilda Lace Die and Copics are from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 005c copy

This beautiful pure silk ribbon and shiny small heart charm are both from  The Ribbon Girl. I promise you that the one you get won’t have me and my camera on it – doh!!!!!!

Picture 011c copy

An array of prettiness from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I used 35mm trellis rose in pink mist from the Classic Colour Range of Roses, hip rosebuds, 4mm closed rosebuds and some sweetheart blossoms

Picture 013c copy

A different way to use the fab Magnolia leaf and swirl die – well the swirl bit in any case!!! I guess one of these days I will make something where I don't use it but for the mo it is staying on my desk lol!!!!.

The Pink Petticoat sentiment was printed onto Safmat.

Picture 012c copy

And here’s the side view.

The light was doing all sorts of weirdness  when I took the pics. It was quiet windy and the trees outside were blowing so there was a flickering effect which was quite frankly doing my swede in!!!

Anyhoos that’s me done for today.

I do have a couple of  bits to share if I get chance over the weekend (ie if I can drag myself away from the telly!!) but if I don't get back here, have a great weekend one and all and see you next week.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxxx
