Just Peachie & This Week’s Blast From The Past :)

Picture 007c copy

Morning loveliest of peeps and what a beautiful morning it is here in Chester. The sun is shining and it’s just gorgeous.

Long may it last (it won't!!).

It’s a white rabbit day today ie the first of the month and I cannot believe we are into the third month of the year already!!! I hope that if you did the proposal thing yesterday that it went well for you and not like poor Rhona in Emmerdale – eeee, yer daft ‘apeth Paddy!!.

Anyway enough of this rural banter stuff, it’s time to check out the Lili’s Little Fairies Challenge and this week we have a peachie theme for you. In fact, it really is just that cos it’s

Peaches N Cream!!

Now I must confess that this isn't really a colour combi I usually go for even though I really really like it :)

So here’s the old cardio and today I used one of the new releases from Lili Of The Valley and this super sweet lil sausage is Wish Upon A Star. I coloured her with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E50, E81

The rest – E50, E51, E53, YR0000, YR00, YR02, YR20, YR61

and the papers are all from Nitwits  from the FQB Buds n Blossoms collection.

This ribbon is amazing, it really is. It’s 32mm pure silk ribbon and it is the softest ribbon I’ve ever seen. I could barely bring meslef to cut it to be honest!!!

And it’s back after its day off – yes the Magnolia leaf and swirl die has had enough of a rest I think!!!!

An array of beautiful bloomage and all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

So that’s the card done.

Now as it’s Thursday it’s time for one of me blasts from the past and I’m sure you can all guess which one I went for today, being the predictable piggy that I am. I was quite shocked to hear about the death of Davy Jones yesterday. I liked the Monkees and even though I didn’t really fall in love until Donny Osmond (sigh sigh) came along, I did quite like Peter Tork even though he is a bit gormless looking back on it. But I was only 8 at the time (yes I really am THAT old lol!!) and it goes to show what appalling taste I had in men even at that young age cos most of the girls liked Davy…….

….  and no wonder - didn't he age well, bless him!!!

Another bit of  useless info is that Mike Nesmith’s mother (for the young ‘uns amongst us, he’s the one with the woolly hat in the vid) invented Liquid Paper ie Tippex (or idiot ink as we used to call it!!).

Now I just had a thought.

I bet a lot of the young ‘uns won’t know what that it cos now if you make a mistake now when typing,  you just delete it. But back then when we had old fashioned clunky typewriters, if you made a mistake you had to insert this paper and re-type your mistake and it put white ink over the mistake. Then you could type the correct letter.

Clever stuff eh,  and very high tec ……. back in the 50s!!! You can read about it here (riveting doesn’t come close lol!!!)

Anyway here’s the vid –those of a certain age will remember it fondly (it’s a toe tapper). It’s that old that it’s slightly out of synch but then so are most of us over a certain age!!!  I think most of the young uns will know it as well cos they do it in Shrek The Musical.

So pop pickers (jeez I am doing the old fart thing majorly today), enjoy and huggiest of hugs to all and see you tomoz xxxx

Lol Dawny I remember always being too impatient to wait for tippex to dry properly and writing on it and making great wedges in it and getting it all over the pen! Davy did age well bless him! I love your card too the little image is so sweet and that ribbon is yummy! Hugs Rebekah xx

Thanks Dawny I must say that clip was quite moving in light of recent events. I was a Beatles fan and my younger sister loved the Monkeys but looking back I quite enjoy their music. Gosh I remember Tippex I was always too inpatient to let it dry properly then it made a right old mess and I would have to throw it away and start again lol!! Love your card, as always they are sheer perfection xx

thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Monkeys and Donny, i am still chuckling about your mentioning the Gormless one, oh you sure do have a sense of humour, one that i certainly enjoy. Also i had to laugh at the You tube, made me feel soooooo old though, ha ha ha

P.S: as for the typex, what a dissaster, no patience for waiting for it to dry, used to just end up embossing the new type over it, lol
