Spring Daffs and a Brand New Image

Hello lovelies and hope everybody is OK today.
Not such a warm Spring day today but at least it isn't raining - yayy!!

I'm sharing a card which I made using one of the brand new digi images by my sweet friend, Ruth Hamilton.

I've known Ruth for quite a few years and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the nicest, sincerest and most genuine people I've ever met (she will hate me saying that but it's so true).

She's also rather good at the craft thing as well.

And I'm proud to call her my friend.

So I've used one of her images - this is Daffodils.
It's perfect for this time of year.

I coloured it with Nuvo markers in the following colours -

401 - Lemon Drops
405 - Indian Saffron
391 - Butternut  Squash

409 - Desert Sage
410 - Persian Lime
420 - Wildwood Moss

485 - Feather Grey
507 - Blender

I added a teeny tiny bit of glitter and some highlighting using a Posca Pen.

The sentiment is from Tonic Studios Sweet  & Simple Sentiments stamp set - I really like this set because there seems to be something for every occasion.

I'll add links and my affiliate links at the bottom in case you want a mooch :)

OK so you know I like a button and bow combi!!
And I have a LOT of buttons.

But could I find one in the exact shade I wanted?

No!!!

So I just coloured one with my Nuvo pen and added a few Posca pen dots.

Simple :)

I also like a nice spotty paper and the ones I used here are both from Crafty Devils. They are a really good quality and good value as well - they are 8x8 and you get 48 in a pack (4 sheets each of 12 colours).

Ditto their stripey paper.
They work nicely together because the shades all match which I really like.

So that's my bright and cheery daffodil card and I hope you like it.

I'll be back soon with some more stuff.
I am expecting a couple of things today which I am dying to use.

One is an upgrade to something I sort of already have, and the other bag of goodies ... well let's just say I've waiting far too long to join this particular party!!

All will be revealed once they arrive.
Oh please let it be soon lol.

Take care, stay safe and well and lots of love to all xx

Baby Bunting : )

Good morning crafty peeps and thank you for stopping by today.

I’ve got another baby card to share and it’s this one ….

DSCN1696 copy_thumb[3]

… here.

I wanted it to look like a chest of drawers so I used an outside edge from Tonic Topnote Trellis to cut the ‘legs’on the left hand side then made little drawers.

I think it helps to ink the edges on something like this, even though I don’t usually do it.
I used Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

DSCN1698 copy_thumb[2]

The bunting is cut from the Rococo Petite Baby Balloons die and stuck together.
And the paper I used is from the Nitwits Country Meadow download.

DSCN1697 copy_thumb[3]

And the main element is the little cutie from Adorable Elephants.
The little hearts and clouds are cut from the Rococo Baby Nursery Mobile die and the sentiment is the Miniature Moments – New Baby.

DSCN1695 copy_thumb[2]

And that’s the card done.

I hope you like it and if your dies have arrived, I hope you’re having as much fun with them as I did.
Have a lovely day and crafty hugs to all xxx

Pretty Pink Heart

Good morning  peeps and I hope that you are having a lovely week so far.

It’s time to head on over to Papertake Weekly and this week our theme is

Ooh So Pretty

and we just want to to make something pretty or add something pretty to your work.

There’s a fab prize from
The Ribbon Girl as well so go and have a butchers if you get a sec xx

The card I’ve made today is a bit special because it’s actually for somebody – often my card aren’t, but this one is.

So ….

… here is is.

It’s another quick and simple card and I’ve used some gorgeous Tonic Studios Dies mixed with some Ribbon Girl pretties.

The older die is the Tonic Studios Affections Insert Die – On Mother’s Day – and I  just cut the largest inside edge  into a piece of white card which I then layered onto some pink before sticking to my card base.

I then used some of the Tonic Heart Stamp and Dies Sets and the pink heart in the centre is cut using the outside edge from the Paisley set, then I cut another one exactly the same in white and added the inside edge from the Floral set

I LOVE how all of these sets works so well together and they are available on pre-order from Crafty Devils .

A bit of pretty here.

I went around the edge with some Nuvo Pearl White Crystal Drops then added a sprinkling of Candy Pink Nuvo Glitter.
I also used the Nuvo Glue pens on part of the heart design and added a bit more there.

Once again I have used one of the tail parts of the Large Lacy Bow set to stamp my sentiment onto.

And WHAT a sentiment – this is from
Set 92 Birthdays & Best Wishes from Lili of The Valley  and it is fabulous value. You get 12 wavy sentiments for only £8. And there’s a cracking Christmas offer on right now as well – go and have a mooch because you snooze you lose peeps lol xx

A pretty little sparkly made with some hot glue and Candy Pink Glitter : )

And those gorgeous bows are made from 25mm Rose Pink No 57 Large Check Gingham ribbon and  9mm White/White Spot Organza ribbon, both of course from The Ribbon Girl.

So that’s my card for today and thank you for stopping by.
Have the fabbiest of days,  whatever you’re doing, and huggiest of  hugs to all,

And Something For The Girls : )

Howdy peeps and it’s another sunny morning here in Chester.
That’s 3 days in a row now!!!

So after the masculine card yesterday, I thought I’d even it up a bit and share one which is a bit more girlie, and ….

DSCN1445 copy_thumb[2]

… it’s this one here.

I made this card up when I was demoing at Bolton and I used creams and whites, and I was quite pleased how it turned out. So I made it up again using pinks : )

I used one of my fave EVER Tonic Studios Dies and this is the beautiful Deco Oval Trellis set.
The base card is an 8x8 and it’s cut  to just over 5 1/2” wide, and I added a pink mat using dimensional pads. Then I cut a slightly smaller piece in white and using the largest inside edge, I ran it through the machine, then stuck it down onto the pink mat, again using dimensionals.

Then I cut another piece from white card using both the outside and inside edges, added some Nuvo Diamond Glitter around the edge using a Nuvo Glue Pen, then I stuck it down onto the card, lining it up carefully with the pattern underneath.

Finally I cut another in pink from the smallest outside edge and added that, again using dimensionals.
LOVE the layers : )

DSCN1446 copy_thumb[4]

I made some little blooms using the flower elements from the Tonic Entwining Trellis Plush Peony Die set.

For the 2 largest flowers, I cut one in white and another from pink using the largest flower die, then I used tweezers to gently curl the edges back before running a ball tool over them to bring the petals up. Then I layered them together. I cut another in white using the second smallest flower and then ran the ball tool over it and then stuck it down.

I made one more using the second largest and the smallest flower dies, which I stuck down onto a bow I’d  made using Mermaid Pale Pink Sparkle Ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.

DSCN1448 copy_thumb[4]

Next I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Pearl White to the edge of the centre pink mat and also the centre of each bloom.

DSCN1449 copy_thumb[3]

Finally I cut a small oval using one of the elements from the Tonic Tent Gift Bag Die Set, stamped one of my beloved Lili of The Valley sentiments onto it then – it’s the Sentiments to Fit Scroll set -  stuck it down.

All the Tonic Studios products I’ve used here are available from Crafty Devils, as is the Papermania Capsule Wild Rose A4 cardstock.

DSCN1444 copy_thumb[7]

And that’s the card all done.

Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy the sunshine.

Huggiest of hugs to all xx

One For The Boys : )

Good morning lovely peeps and I hope that you are OK today.
It’s another sunny day here in Chester and it’s so nice to wake up to this rather than rain and wind, although I will be moaning when it gets too hot lol.

So it’s time to head on over to the Papertake Weekly challenge and this weeks our theme is

Something For The Boys

and as father’s day is looming, we hope you find lots of inspiration over there cos the team have been busy busy.

So what did I do?

DSCN1438 copy_thumb[3]

I did this : )

I made the base card using the largest outside edge from the new Tonic Studios Topnote Trellis set.
I cut 2 out, made a little fold across the top of 1 of them, added some tape then stuck them together.

I then added some of the gorgeous new Lili of The Valley Sunny Side Up papers  and these were literally some scraps I had left over from the 2 other cards I’ve shared on here recently. Waste not want not!!!

The centre panel is made using one of the centre dies from the Tonic Studios Garland Fancy Idyllics set from Crafty Devils and the sentiment is from another Idyllics set – Delicate Drape. The Garland Fancy set is on offer at Crafty Devils at the moment so if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s your chance : )

Here’s a coupe of pics ….

DSCN1441 copy_thumb[3]

DSCN1442 copy_thumb[2]

Some beautiful Tonic Studios  Ebony Nuvo Crystal Drops ……

DSCN1439 copy_thumb[3]

…. some string, buttons and and lots of dimension, and it’s finished.

You could easily convert this into a girls card by swapping the papers, using ribbon rather than the string and using a different colour card for your base.

So that’s me done for and thank you for stopping by.

Have a lovely day and huggiest of hugs to all xx

A Brand New One

Good afternoon crafty peeps.
Have you been enjoying the
Tonic Studios shows on Create & Craft?

I thought I’d share one that I made that didn't make it down to Jodie in time but which uses the new dies from the shows, and …

…it’s this one here which uses that ever so gorgeous Petunia Trellis Die set.

I made the base using the larger outside edge and folded it in half so that the 2 petals were even across the bottom.
Then I added one of the elements from the Thinking Of You set before topping it off with  the smaller outside and inside edges from Petunia and the 2 small circles.

The flower was made using the larger of the small Petunia circles.
I just cut three of them cut one round off then joined then together to make as spiral shape before rolling up.
I ran a Nuvo Glue pen over it then sprinkled it with Diamond Nuvo Glitter.

Those pretty leaves are from the Flora Frames Topper Set – I use these loads because they are a nice size and really sweet I think.

A little tail from the Tonic Studios Large Lacy Bow Die Set - a perfect base for your stamped sentiments : )

This sentiment is from Lili of The Valley Sentiments to Fit Scroll set.

The card btw is Papermania Oyster Blush A4 card from Crafty Devils

And there’s my card all done.
I hope you like it and thank you for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your day and crafty hugs to all xx

Sunshine & Paper Strips

Good morning peeps and I hope that you are all OK today.
The sun is shining and there's blue sky - maybe it;s this heat wave we’ve been told about or maybe summer is on its way?

Well OK,  maybe the sunshine won't last but I've got a nice bright sunshine-y card to share today,
and .....

...it's this one here.

For this card I used the  Tonic Studios Deco Geometric Layering dies which are available from Crafty Devils
I LOVE the shape of these dies, I really do.

To get the striped effect, I cut 1" strips of paper and glued them down onto a piece of thin card stock, then once it was all dry, I die cut the shape using the second largest die in the set. The mat behind it was cut using the largest die.

It's a great way to use up those strips of patterned paper that we all have lying about our craft rooms (or is that just me??)

And the GORGEOUS papers are from the same pack that I used on yesterday’s card and they are
Lili of The Valley Sunny Side Up.

For the sentiment, I used the tail part of the Tonic Studios Large Lacy Bow set.
They are perfect for making fishtails to put your sentiments on.

.... see what I mean?

I  curved the tail so that it stood out on the card : )

So that's my card for today and I hope that you like it.

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

You’re A Star

Hi there peeps – hope you are all OK today.

I’ve not posted for a while as I’ve had all sorts of stuff going on – none of it good really – but we are all OK now and it’s back to crafting again.

Before I get to the card, I just have to tell you that I have set up a brand new blog which is specifically for my Tonic Studios makes ( I’ll still be using this one as well) . But everything ‘Tonic’ will be put on there and all in one place so it will hopefully make things a lot easier to find. You can check it all out right here.

So the card I made here is for the challenge over at Papertake Weekly and we have our

Anything Goes

theme with the option of making something summery.

And …

.. this is what I did.

I used beautiful Tonic Studios Star Layering die set which is available from Crafty Devils and I created lots of dimension by scoring the stars from the tip of each point, right the way across to the other side and I did this on all 5 points, then I simply valley and mountain folded the creases.

The beautiful papers are Lili of The Valley Sunny Side Up and they will be available from this Saturday 6th June.

The white star background was made using the dies from the set as well.
I used the 2 smallest dies and cut several out and then glued them randomly down onto a piece of card.

Then I ran a Nuvo Glue Pen around the outside of each star and sprinkled it with  Nuvo Pure Sheen Diamond Glitter.

Do you like the little sparkler?
I nicked this idea from Jodie so I can't take the credit, but what a fabulous idea.

She used the new Tonic glue gun and just put a blob onto a glass craft mat then covered it with glitter.
A few minutes later, you have a gorgeous little embellishment that has cost you next to nothing to make and looks lovely.

So that’s my card and thank you for stopping by today.
I hope you like the new blog and  that it makes life easier if you are just looking for the Tonic stuff.

Have a great day and hugs to all xxx

Take One Header Die … Part 2

Hi peeps.

As promised, I’m back again with a couple more cards I made using the Tonic Garden Terrace header die set.
Once again I’ll put the supplies and links at the end of the post

The first one today is ……

… an easel card.

Another super easy one to do – I folded a piece of A4 card which had been trimmed to 5” wide into 3.
I die cut one end using both inner and outer edges, then made another edge and stuck it onto the top of the section that had been cut so that there was one and each end.

The inside is just covered in white card and I made a border from  another piece of pale aqua card to go on the bottom, again using both inner and outer edges.

More beautiful blooms made using the  Bellus Buttercup and Delicate Daisy Entwining Trellis dies – LOVE these.
The leaves are made from the
Flora Frames set.

For the second one, I did a similar thing as the first card.

But instead of using it an an easel card, I folded it up to form a little wallet.
I made a little tag thing to pop inside -  you can see it here underneath the card.
It’s very plain here but you could add your sentiment or write a message on it

You could also turn this sideways on to make another type of card – like a Z fold.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing these – I think that these dies are so versatile.
Here’s the supplies that I used – same as yesterday really ..

Tonic Garden Terrace Header Die Set

Tonic Layering Dies Set - Scalloped Squares

Tonic Trellis Circles Die Set

Tonic  Topper die set - Happy Birthday Pansy
Tonic Entwining Trellis Bellus Buttercup Set
Tonic Entwining Trellis Delicate Daisy set

Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops – Pearl

Tonic Nuvo Glitter – Diamond

I’ll see you tomorrow  with something completely different and very very new : )

Enjoy the rest of your day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Take One Header Die …..

Hi lovely peeps and hope you are all OK and enjoying your evening.

I was having a play with some of the gorgeous Tonic header dies while I was at Ally Pally over the weekend and the more I used them, the more I was smitten. So I thought I’d share some ideas here –they are sooo versatile.

I’ve stuck to the same header set, Garden Terrace,  and basically the same colours and embellies etc – hope you like.

I’ll pop a list at the every end of the post so that you can see what’s what, and tomorrow I’ll put on the last 2 cards and a pic of them all together (if I can work out how to do that of course lol).

So for the first one, I’ll start with the conventional way of using them.

I drew a line across the centre of the card and lined up the outside edge, ran it though the machine and then did the same with the inside edge.
The centre is just layered up with Scalloped Squares and a Trellis Circle die.

The blooms are made using dies from the beautiful Entwining Trellis  Bellus Buttercup and Delicate Daisy sets.  I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Neptune to the centres  but then I sprinkled over it with Diamond Nuvo Glitter

I love how it brings out so many colours

I added some little leaves cut from the Flora Frames set and a Frond Finesse flourish.

So for the second card ….

… I kept it very plain and simple.

I just used the inside edge on the front of my card base, added a ribbon and bow, another bloom using the same dies as above and this time I added Pearl Nuvo Crystals.

The sentiment is cut from the Happy Birthday Topper set

It’s such an easy card to put together and takes no time at all.

So here’s the supplies I used -

Tonic Garden Terrace Header Die Set

Tonic Layering Dies Set - Scalloped Squares

Tonic Trellis Circles Die Set

Tonic  Topper die set - Happy Birthday Pansy

Tonic Entwining Trellis Bellus Buttercup Set

Tonic Entwining Trellis Delicate Daisy set
Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops – Pearl

Tonic Nuvo Glitter – Diamond

I’ll see you tomorrow with the last 2 but till then, have a great evening and hugs to all xx

A Bit Of A Tonic Triptych :)

Morning peeps and it’s nearly time for a looong weekend, yayyy : )

But before that we have to head on over and catch up with the Papertake Weekly gang and as it’s the last challenge of the month, it’s time to

Take Your Pick

I combined the colour challenge which this month is pastels,  with the technique challenge which is to make a treat holder for Easter and I also snuck in an oval so that’s the product challenge as well.

I used the amazing Tonic  Tent Gift Bag die which you can get from Crafty Devils and they are super easy to put together and also very quick.

You get a shed loads of little extras in this die set as well which you can use for other things.
I enjoyed making them so much that I ended up making three lol.

And here they are -

This first one uses some of the extras from the set, including the gorgeous filigree plate and the oval.
I covered the plate with some
Tonic Nuvo Diamond Glitter – this stuff is great – it doesn't seem to drop like others do and you can burnish it once it’s dry (you've probably seen Jodie doing this on the telly) .

I added a bow made from
38mm white organza and topped it off with an aqua spotty button, both from The Ribbon Girl

The papers are Up Up & Away from my beloved Lili of The Valley

The second bag uses the same papers and one of the extras from the die set.
I’ve also added some
Nuvo Crustal Drops in Pearl White.
The bloom is made from
Tonic Plush Peony Entwining Trellis and Delicate Daisy Entwining Trellis.
There’s a close up at the top of the post and if I get a sec I’ll pop a quick tutorial on here to show you how I made it.

And for the last one …

… I used a Tonic Deco Trellis Base Die Set and a layered up Tonic Studios Rococo Petite Die - Butterfly Sprig with some Tonic Studios Neptune Nuvo Crystal Drops, again from Crafty Devils. I added some knotted 15cm white tulle from the Ribbon Girl and finished it off with a rhinestone sparkler.

So that’s my little bags.
I thought I’d do a treat holder for an adult as a change from the ones I do for the kids – hope you like : ))

Right I’m off to get some work done.
Enjoy the rest of your day and if I’m not back in the land of blog before then, have a fabulous Easter.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx
