Morning lovely peeps and hope you are all OK and having a nice weekend. At least the weather seems to have behaved itself and the sun  is actually out bright and early here today. Not sure if it will last though?

As  it’s the first Sunday of the month, it’s time to catch up with what’s happening over at

The Ribbon Girl Blog

and our challenge this month is actually a bingo challenge ….

… and here is your card :)

There are 2 fab prizes up for grabs.

and there’s also a Lili of The Valley stamp of your choice as well :) …..

2 verrry good reasons indeedy to play along don’tchya think sweet peeps xxx

So, what did el Piggy do?

Well I know that nobody likes a show off, but …

 Picture 001 copy

… I did ‘em all!!!

I sort of set myself a challenge to see if I could and I think I just about managed it!!!

Picture 004 copy

The cute lil image is Snow Queen from Lili of The Valley and I used the following Copics -

Skin – E0000, E000, E00, E11, R00, R02

Hair – E15, E31, E33, E34, E35, E29

The rest – N0, C2, E50, RV0000, RV000, RV00, R85, Y21. Y28, Y38

Just for a change I’ve made a shopping list at the end of the post with pics of all the products I’ve used and they are all hyperlinked to take you straight to the right places :)

In the meantime, here’s some more pics for you.

2 pretty blooms and a die cut  which I chopped down!!

  Picture 006 copy

Lace, ribbon and some pretty pink sugar and spice pearls

Picture 007 copy

A perfect sentiment and a couple more die cuts!!!
I know these are ferns but I think they look fab for Christmas cards as well.

Picture 008 copy

Picture 002 copy

So that’s what I did.

I wasn’t too unpleased with how it turned out but I wish I could take better pics when I do a base card other than the usual 6 x 6. I never seem to get it quite right!!!

Here’s what I used -

From The Ribbon Girl -

170439-mini-makes-pink       215801-ivory        163415-sugar-and-spice-pearls

215923-pinkcherryblossom             105106-Diamante-Daisies

From Nitwits -

         fqb_mrandmrs_LRG

From Which Craft -

From Simon Says Stamp -

        MBdelicatefern98341

And last but by no means least, the sentiment is from the Pink Petticoat Heartfelt Christmas Sentiments collection (sorry there wasn't a pic ).

Did you all watch the Olympics last night? I tell you, I was nearly hoarse from cheering on Mo Farrah - that last lap was beyond exciting. Makes you proud to be British and isn’t Mo a nice man. Hugest congrats to our athletes – what an amazing night it was.

It topped off a very nice day yesterday.

I’d gotten Richard a driving experience day for his birthday last year so we went there first, and he really enjoyed it but at least we know now that if we ever win the lottery, we won’t be buying a Ferrari (unless Tom Selleck – drool drool - is included and then I will have  to have one just to look at) !! Apparently they are tricky beggars to drive – funny gears by all accounts!!   Then we went out for a nice late-ish lunch before getting back home and just flopping on the couch and watching the telly with a Bulmer's Red Cider (Rich, who doesn't normally drink ) and a glass of chilled vino (moi, who normally does)!!.

Not long now before my little sausages are back and I am missing them so much, and Emma sent me this pic of the baby yesterday in her sun hat …..

thea in spain

…awww bless her little heart.

One eye looks like it’s going to close but she still looks sweet (I know I am biased). She’s nearly 10 weeks old now  and she’s all chubby cheeks and hair (you can’t see the hair cos of the hat but she hasn't lost any). And Kyla is such a lovely big sister to her – there has been no jealousy and considering she has been on her own for 6 years she has coped really well with the little interloper. I am so proud of that kid.

So on that doting soppy granny note,  I am off to finish off the colouring for the next lot of LOTV sneak peeks ( they are just adorable) and also finish the prep for my classes at the LOTV open day next Saturday.

Enjoy your Sunday whatever you are doing and if you get a sec, nip over and check out the challenge because the DT cards are amazing. I am so honoured to work with such talent, I can tell you.

I’ll see you in the week so until then, huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Not What You Might Expect :)

Good morning lovely peeps and a very Happy Sunday to everyone xxx

It’s time for another  challenge over at The Ribbon Girl Blog and this month’s colours are …

colour challenge label 15

… and what a fab combi too :)

Talking of fab, check out what’s up for grabs.

Firstly, there is this gorgeous ribbon kit ….

ribbon girl pink and blue prize

… which is made up of 5 metres of  beautiful cotton, guipure and cluny vintage style lace, pink satin ribbon, old rose tiny ric rac, pale blue pom pom trim, blue and white spot organza, blue loopy trim, pink mulberry roses, sparkly buttons, and rose petal pink seam binding.

And that’s not all because we are also sponsored today by the lovely Lisa & Laila from Lili Of The Valley and there is a …..

….  to giveaway  as well.

And it’s a fab month for me cos my lovely pal Lols is our special guest designer, so if you get a sec, nip over for a mooch and check out the amazing cardage. Like I always say about PTW, there is such a wide range of styles in this DT and I can’t wait each month to see what everyone else has done – and I am never ever disappointed.

So the colours this month are pink & blue and this may come as a bit of a shock cos you’d probably be thinking that I would do me usual pastels thing – and I had intended to do just that -  BUT when I saw the image I wanted to use, I just knew she wasn't a pastels sort of girlie, so I went for BOLD!!!

Oh yes, I am still a bit shocked meself lol!!!

Picture 007c copy1

The usual lighting issues are still ever present – roll on Spring / Summer -  but IRL this is bright and very zingy, as befits this sassy chicksie.

She is Queen of Hearts and she is of course an image by the talented Krista over at Saturated Canary. This is the first time I have used one of her images and I can safely say that it won’t be the last.

Picture 012c copy

I coloured her with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R11, R20
Hair – E41, E42, E43, E50, E51
Clothes etc – B000., B12, B45, B93, B95, B97, C00, C1, C3, C5, RV0000, RV000, RV00, RV10, RV29

and I also added some polychromos pencilling  to add a bit of depth here and there.

All papers are from Pink Petticoat and I thought they matched the image really well.

Picture 010c copy

It’s back again, the poor overworked Magnolia leaf and swirl die!! I added some bloomage in the form of a couple of pretty pink two tone blossoms from The Ribbon Girl, and I made some others using the smallest Spellbinders Rose Creations die and a rolled flower thing which I doused in Diamond Stickles.

Dies and Stickles are from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 011c copy

I used some 16mm saddlestitch ribbon in hot pink and white. I love working with this ribbon because it goes just  how and where you want it to go ……  and then stays there!!!

The navy die cut was made using a Nellie’s Multi Frames Die  from Dies To Die For.

Picture 008c copy

Picture 009c copy

So there we have the card all done.

I’m entering this card into the Colour Me Creative Copics Challenge which this month is Retro Fun – Hot Pinks / Blacks / Whites

The weather has turned very cold here  these last few days and everything is white this morning. It’s the sort of weather that I like to wrap up warm and go walking in. My old dad used to say that it kills off the winter germs,  and I think he has a point, and I like the feeling of coming back to a warm house with rosy cheeks and lungs fill of fresh air.

So maybe later I might venture out.

Before I go I must share this with you because for sure it will put a smile on your face. My good friend and fellow Papertaker Sharon posted it up on our DT blog and I have to say that it is just amazing. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to actually experience it but for sure it is a once in a lifetime thing. I do wonder if the chappie had to change his trousers after – I would have for sure – but it’s so sweet.

So enjoy, and have a the fabbiest of Sundays and see you soon.

The Most FABULOUS Colour Combi – And No Pink In Sight :)

Picture 008c copy

Morning lovelies and don’t come too near to the screen cos I am streaming with a cold (or man flu as it is sometimes known!!)

It’s that time of the moth when we head over and catch up with the lovely Mary & Andrea over at The Ribbon Girl Blog and this month is one of my fave ever colour combis ever that doesn’t involve pink ….

colour challenge label 14

… and here it is.

There is also a super dooper prize up for grabs …

december prize

.. and who  wouldn’t want to win that bundle of gorgeousness??

Not only that but the DT cardage is just jaw droppingly fab so nip and check it all out when you get a sec. The thing I love about this team is that there are always very different styles and lots of  ideas and  inspiration :)

So …

Picture 001c copy

… here is what I did.

The image is one of the new Tildas from the latest kit  and I coloured this little sweetie with the following Copics -

E000, E00, E11, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E41, E43, E50 (hair), E0000, E40, E42, E50, G99, R02, R05, R17, R27, R59, YG01 (the rest).

All the papers are from Pink Petticoat.

Picture 005c copy

Drool drool – this 38mm faux silk ribbon is a dream to work with and makes the most stunning bows – love it :) And I topped it off with a little black small polka dot spotty button

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So there you have it and I was quite pleased with how this card turned out.

So that’s me done – another short one cos I am not feeling 100%. We went to Cornwall for the weekend to see R’s mum and while we were there we had a  tour of a vineyard there which was amazing.  But it was unexpected and it was also very cold indeed and el dingbat here had on a black lacy top and no coat!! So that, combined with sitting in the car with his Lordship for over 6 hours while he was snotting and sneezing everywhere on Friday night clearly did not help. And just in time for 25th as well when I am cooking for 9 this year (nice!!).

Oh well, we will survive 'I’m sure. Have a great day and hopefully see you tomoz!!

Hugs to all xxx

I LOVE This :)

Picture 006c copy copy

Morning lovely peeps and hope you are all OK today :)

It’s Thursday and that can only mean one thing – yes it’s time to check out the Lili Of The Valley Thursday challenge  and this week our theme is

Aqua, White & Glitter

Well say no more cos this is right up my blingtastic  street !!

As always we have a fab voucher up for grabs ….

image

… for one lucky girlie to spend in the shop (I wonder what she’ll choose!!)

So …

Picture 001c copy

.. this is what I did and it’s one of those times when I actually really like the end result.

I used Christmas Dance and she is from the first Christmas release this year – and she is soooo sweet.

I coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin),  E41, E42, E50 (hair) , BG0000, BG01, RV00 (the rest)

and I also added some shading with polychromos pencils and then went a bit mad with the old Glamour Dust.

The papers are all from the Bumbleberry Cottage collection from Nitwits  and I stamped the image onto a Nesties die cut – this one is Labels 18 and you can get them from Tracy at Dies To Die For

Picture 004c copy

I love how this bow turned out – it looks so pretty.

It’s a mixture of 23mm white organza and  vintage seam binding (I used aqua of course!!). And as it’s a Chrimbly card, I added 3 silver jingle bells which I’d tied together with some Divine Baker’s Twine (again I used aqua).

And all of these are from The Ribbon Girl :)

Picture 005c copy

The flowers are all made from Spellbinders Rose Creations dies and of course I just had to add a bit of Tilda Lace and both dies are from Simon Says Stamp. The pretty aqua self adhesive rhinestones are from Wild Orchid Crafts but you can always colour plain ones with your pens if you don’t have any.

The sentiment is Pink Petticoat and printed onto Safmat.

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

Well that’s me done for today.

I’m off to try and get through a mountain of work then start the prep for my class at the weekend. So it’s all go today peeps. I hope that your day will be more relaxing!!!!

But before I go, remember my little mini rant re the travellers and  I said that the council had agreed to a permanent site on some green belt land near here? Well apparently it isn't a done deal after all and the info wasn't released 2 days before the closing date for objections (my source was wrong and they are sacked lol!!)  and there is a petition going around which has practically everybody’s signature on so maybe there’s hope ?  I think the council have pretty much made up their minds to be honest.

And I won’t even start on the saga that happened at Hobbycrap yesterday. I’ll save that for another time – grrrrrr!!!!!!

All I’ll say is that if you are going to have a major refurb, you really ought to consider that your customers might still want to buy things (strange concept I know!!) so best not pack most things away where it can’t be gotten at!!!! Oh and if they could maybe get some peeps that work there to understand the difference between 12 x 12 and A4 sizes, it would be MARVELLOUS!!!

Or am I just being Miss Picky Knickers again :(

Have a fab day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

3 Lili Lovelies :)

Picture 003c copy

Hi peeps and hope that you are all OK today.

It’s time to catch up with Lili’s little fairies  over at the Lili Of The Valley Thursday challenge and this week our theme is

Red, Green & White.

So it’s rather festive over there  today.  We have a fab voucher up for grabs as well ….

image

.. and I’m sure that our winner will be spoilt for choice in what to spend it on as there are soooo many lovely things in the shop.

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did. I did another shaped card made using Spellbinders Grand Nesties

The image is All In A Row and it’s one of the new releases – don’t you just love ‘em :) I coloured it with Copics and these are the colours I used …

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E41, E42, E50 (hair), G99, R17, R27, R59, Y28, YG0000, YG01, YG03 (the rest).

I used the frilly bits of the Magnolia Dream Tag  to surround the image and them stuck another piece of card over the back so you can’t see the joins!! The holly ‘paper’ was made using an old holly punch  which I’ve had for years and a small hole punch.

The Nesties, Copics and tag die are all available from Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment is Pink Petticoat.

Picture 004c copy

I made a nice big bow with some  38mm Grosgrain Stripe ribbon from the fabulous Ribbon Girl and the button is actually a piece of card punched with a 3/4” circle hole punch and a small hole punch.

Picture 002c copy

So that’s the old card done.

I am suffering a bit today because we went out on our bikes last night, me for the first  time in ages, so I am a tad tired. I got me a new bike so I was testing it out …

Giant Roam 2 x Road Bike 2011 - Hybrid City bikes

… and this is the bad boy here and I LOVE it :) It has 27 gears apparently although I haven’t a clue what to do with them, There are only 2 in my world, ie easy and hard, haaahaaaa!!!.

We both ‘treated’ ourselves to some of those padded shorts that you wear under your trackie or whatever you go riding in and it was hysterical. I looked like Serena Williams (love her but she does have one hell of an ass on her, bless) and they made you walk in quite an unattractive way.

Why I felt the need to add any more butt inches on top of what is already there I cannot imagine and I’m not so sure they are even THAT comfy. Apparently ( according to his Lordship), we are our again later although whether I wear the shorts remains to be seen!!!

My enthusiasm today is underwhelming!!! Best get the Bercooca back out (still no sign of any facial hair or log rolling tendencies peeps!!)

So on that note I’ll go and do some work and I’ll see you tomoz with the last card of the week.

Enjoy your day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx
