Blooming Stitches :)

Hi there peeps and it’s another gorgeous day here in Chester today :)
In fact, it’s so nice that I am off on me bike shorlty for a bit of fresh air and exercise  …. before I go and fill my piggy old chops at Frankie & Benny’s later on!!!!

But before that, it’s time to hop over and check out the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and today it’s my turn to host. It’s also our special monthly challenge so our theme is

with the option of adding some stitching somewhere – you can either draw it on or use real stitching.

So …

… here’s what I did. I coloured Tilda Loves Flowers from Simon Says Stamp in these Copic colours ..

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E25, E29, E35, E50, E51,

The rest – B0000, B000, B00, B12, BV000, BV00, BV02, BV04, E81, RV000, RV00, RV10, RV29

and I also added a bit of polychromos pencilling here and there.

The papers which I am, LOVING, are the new release from Nitwits and they are from the FQB - Bonnets 'n Bowties Collection – right up my street they are lol!!! And the pretty ribbon is 38mm faux silk ribbon from The Ribbon Girl - where else would I get my gorgeous ribbon from :)x

   

This is a Marianne Design Creatables die but I cannot remember which one (soz peeps ) and the packet seems to have gone walkies but I’ll have a look and update if I find it. I topped it off with a little carnation made from paper flowers.

So that’s  the old card done and I may very well be back over the weekend with something tomoz. We have our Saturday morning baking sesh and then her ladyship goes swimming and seeing that Dicky Mint is working all day, I have the whole day to myself – wooohooooo!!!

Emma is going for another scan later today and she is taking Kyla with her, who on the one had is vey excited to be going, but on the other was apparently a bit put out that I wasn't;t collecting her from school today. Mind you, I wasn't too chuffed when Richard told me last week that she sidled up to him and whispered ‘Grandma’s got a big bottom hasn’t she’!! Well out of the mouths of babes and all that so I thought I’d better get the big butt back on the bike (that’s quite good alliteration there lol!!) . But sadly we are all then going to F&B’s for our din-dins so my hard work will no doubt be undone :(

Catching Up (Or How To Be Disorganised!!!) And Some Thank Yous xxx

Hi there peeps and hope you are all OK today xxx

I’m doing a bit of a catch up today and sharing a card which I made for last week’s Just Magnolia Challenge but I had probs uploading it so it never went on the main blog in time. I intended to put it on here this week while the challenge was still running but due to being a dozy beggar, that never happened, so I thought I’d share it today.

The challenge was Pink  White / Red …..

… so this is what I did.

I used Through My Heart Tilda and coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E11, E21, R11, R20, E41, E42, E43, E50, R17, R27, R59, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV01, RV10

The papers I used were sent to me by the lovely Tracy at Dies To Die For. She had lots of spares and thought we could all use them up. So this is the first one I made with them,  and thank you for being so generous to us T xxx

I have to fess up here cos I nicked this idea from my friend and fellow pickled onion lover, the card making / crafty genius that is  Chris Dark ( so thanks for your inspiration sweet cheeks and hope to see you next year xxx)

I used the little heart die as a mini easel card thing on the main easel card if you get my drift.

It’s so sweet and such a clever idea (so clearly not one of mine then!!)

A little Tilda Swirl and pink gingham ribbon adornment – 2 of my faves here, slobber, drool :)

I have to say thank you as well to Janice over at Sir Stampalot for sending me the heart and lace dies (amongst other things) for a recent commission I did xxx.  As you can see Janice, these things are for life and not just for commissions lol!!

I will use them loads for sure.

So I’m done for the week.

I’m off to do some work then I have the prep to do later for tomorrow’s jewellery class at Purple Butterfly Crafts (we are going to be very glam tomorrow lol!!) and then this weekend it’s prepping for Monday’s card club. Phew I am exhausted just thinking about but it keeps me of the streets I guess lol!!

We have Kyla tomorrow night instead of tonight this weekend so Rebekah reminded me that it’s the Christmas Market in Chester (thank you chick xx)  and it looks so pretty so we are heading into town when it starts to go dark so that she can see it all. There is an old fashioned helter skelter there as well and I’m not sure she has ever seen one before.

We’re here at last with my card for this week's Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge where

Fall Is In The Air

Don’t you just LOVE Autumn colours peeps :)

 

And our very own Jacque is hosting and had done us a lovely sketch to follow.

So this is what I did.

The sweet hAnglar girl was coloured with shed loads of Copics but el dopee here cannot find the list. I know I haven't chucked it so I just need to get to Specsavers and find it lol!!

The papers I used are Papermania Hamstead which I got from Hobbycraft ages ago.

But I love the rich colours and I made one or three rolled roses and topped em off with a little self adhesive pearl from Wild Orchid Crafts which I’d coloured with the Copics.

And quelle surpise – there’s the old Magnolia leaf and swirl die again BUT this time it’s the leaf and not the swirl!!!

That beautiful lace is 22mm cream fan Cluny lace and the ribbon is 9mm olive green / white saddlestitch and of course, both the lace and ribbon are from The Ribbon Girl :) 

So we are done today peeps and I’m just off to get me dinner and watch Corrie.

I’m not having much cos I am TRYING to lose a bit of lardage seeing as there are 2 weddings coming up and I do not want to look like a beached whale on the photies lol!!! I’ll see ya tomoz and enjoy your evening.

so you just need to make a ‘friend’ inspired card or project.

So this is what I did.

I seem to be back on the pink again peeps and I coloured the lil hAnglar & stAnglar sweetie with these Copics -

E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E33, E50 (hair),  C00, C1, C3, RV0000, RV000, RV00, RV85 (clothes etc)

and the striped paper is Pink Petticoat

I used a scalloped circle card blank pack from Which Craft UK and covered a plain circle with the paper then I edged it with some lace.

The ribbon is organza organza spot 9mm – I used pale pink – and the tag is Pink Petticoat

     

I used some Wild Orchid Crafts self adhesive pearls to decoate a corner and also to make a little button on her shoe and the die is from  Go-Create die set Pointy Frame #2 which I got from Purple Butterfly Crafts (I added a bit of bling round the edges as well!!)

Check out these beautiful  blooms peeps – I think they look so pretty.  Blooms used are a 25mm wild rose,  10mm open roses,  6mm closed rosebuds, 5mm closed rosebuds, 8mm semi open roses and last but by no means least, some gorgeous sweetheart blossoms.

And of course they are all from Wild Orchid Crafts

So this is my card – oooh it’s another bright and breezy one lol!!

Sorry peeps I cannot find the list of Copics I used (I know I haven't chucked it) and if I find it while I am clearing away later, I’ll update it on here.

But it was the usual hair and skin plus RVs and YGs

Papers are from Nitwits and are the new Egg-stra Special collection. The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and that is a Marianne Design Creatables  Die - Swirl – LR0118 which of course is available from Tracy at Dies To Die For

There’s a cheeky bit of Tilda Lace thrown in as well and I‘ve used another fab doily die from Tracy as well :)

    

So we are done on the old card front for today and also for this week.

I am always glad on April 1st that I am no longer working at Castrol because I was a sitting duck for April Fool pranks –I am  oooh so gullible!! I cannot tell you that stuff I fell for and every year I used to be on my guard but there was a particular lad  in the lab upstairs who was so plausible and he used to come up with fabulous little plots and stories and stuff, so of course I always believed him. It was no good getting my own back either cos a) I wasn't as inventive and b) I cannot keep a straight face!!

I wonder who they picked on after I left, heeheeee.

Right, back to it for moi – nearly 6th April and back to normal (ish!!). If I am not back before next week, enjoy the weekend and

Happy Mothers Day

to all the lovely Mums out there.

We are having a houseful for lunch on Sunday but Emma and Nickie are cooking so I don't have anything to do, bless ‘em. We usually go out but we thought this year that for a change, we would have a nice family lunch at home instead. It will start off nice and quiet but then we will have a few glasses of vino, the Wii will go on and it will degenerate into madness and mayhem (here’s hoping!!!). Kyla is  hysterical on it – unintentionally of course. She knows all the moves, it’s just the words she has a prob with, but you don’t lose points for singing it wrong so she doesn't really care lol!!!.

Wasss Goin’ On Here????????

But first, HAPPY FRIDAY and hope all is well with you on  yet another lovely Spring day :)

Today over at the  Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge which is being hosted today by the sweetness that is our Pops and she has set a great challenge cos it’s time for a game of  BINGO – woohoo!!

So you just need to choose any 3 of these in a line – straight up and down or diagonally – and use them on your card.

And we have not one but 2 fab prizes today :)

Well the choice of colours today might be a shock but not the 3 things I picked ie gems, flowers and ribbon & lace!!

I coloured the little Attitude hAnglar girl with these Copics -

E00, E21, R11 (skin), E21, E40, E41 (hair) E08, E51, G99, R59 W00, W3, W5, YG03, YG63 (clothes etc)

I saw these papers on offer in Hobbycraft a while ago and got them for reasons I don’t really know cos they sure as hell aint my normal thing re the colours and patterns etc.

But the more I looked at them, the more I liked them. I’m not sure if this will mean that I will use them loads, but perhaps my style is changing.

Who knows!!

I did the rolled up flower thing here and if I did this again I would colour the back of the paper as well.

I cannot do them like Caz unfortunately cos hers are amazing – I have rolled up flower envy!!!

See those yummy pearls (OK I cheated cos these were the gems, slappity slap, naughty piggy!!)  well they are what you get if you cross these ….
