PTW and My First Sketch xx

It's Monday (well it was yesterday when I should've posted this lolxx) so that can only mean one thing!!

Time for another PTW challenge
.

Our lovely Katharina unfortunately isn't able to do our sketches any more so I offered to do them instead. Ohhh she is such a hard act to follow, as her sketches are just fabulous.

Thank you Katharina - I will miss your sketches for sure and if I am half as good at them as you, well then I will be happy xxx.

I have been having a dabble with sketches for a while but have never gone public with them, so this was a bit scary, seeing one of them 'out there' lol xxx
So here is the first one - hope ya likeeee :)

The fabulous DT girls have produced some stunning work and I just want to thank them for their encouragement and support - mmmmwwaaahhh xxxx

So, this is what I did with it.

Richard said he preferred this card to the pink pop up one from the last post which I was going to give to his Mum for her birthday, so this is the one she got instead.

I also did another one this week ...........

It looks so different using a square base card.

Papers: Nitwits Homespun Holiday collection and PP
Stamps: Alota (image, oh they are such nice stamps to work with), Hobby Art Stamps & Borders set (sentiment) and Tilda (Fall collection)
Beautiful Blooms: The ever so fabulous Poppicrafts.
Ribbon: was from the very depths of my stash, so I don't know where it came from (sorry).
Brads: Papermania and Kars
Bracket: Cricut George & Basic Shapes

The usual suspects are in there as well ie the MSBP and Glamour Dust
and all coloured with PMs.

Right, I am off for a blog hop - serious catching up to do. Sorry for being a bad blogger again, but there is this flippin credit crunch / recession / financial meltdown thingie going on - you may have heard lol xxx - so work is a bit mad at the mo.

Hope everyone is ok and I will try and do a bit better re my blog visits.

Love and hugs xxxxx

2S4U and 2 Cards For You xxx

Did you know that ........

I know it's a bit late in the month, but better late than never, especially as this is such a good cause.

I've bloggered about this kit before but it's worth telling you about it again as it is just so gorgeous. It's the Awareness Kit designed by the very lovely and talented Summer Driggs and she has dedicated to everyone who has suffered or is suffering from this dreadful thing. I used the papers from it for this week's 2S4U challenge which you can see here. You had the option to either do a pop up or leave it flat.

So I decided to pop lol xxx

The photo is plain dreadful - I found it quite difficult to get a decent angle and you probably cannot tell it is a pop up from this rubbish pic, but it is!! The ribbons are from Hobbycraft (or Hobbycrap as my kids call it - slaps to the pair of them) and those gorgeous blooms are from Poppicrafts. The MSBP got an airing - just for a change (weeeeell I loves it a lot!!! ). I used a sentiment stamp from Butterfly Kisses and the tiny pearls are Kars which I got from Creative Pastimes. It's my MIL's birthday on 27th so I thought it would be nice for her. I'll put 'Mum' on it somewhere (maybe / maybe not!!)

It's quite weird but Richard's Mum and my Dad were born on the same day. My Dad was only 64 when he died and as a result, I find it hard to imagine him as old as Richard's Mum (83).

And now for something completely different!!!!

This is my card for Sketch Saturday. When I first saw the sketch it didn't immediately grab me as some do, but I have to say that I really LOVE it. The snowflake paper is from the new PP download, Tis The Season (fab as ever - great work Liz xx) as is the image which I coloured with PMs, creature of habit that I am, and the stripey paper is PP Little Fleurs, one of my all time faves.

The poinsettia is from Poppicrafts and if you haven't got one of these sets, you truly don't know what you are missing cos they are gorgeous and great value as well at only £5.99 for shed loads!!!

Well that's me done for today.

Have a great night and see ya soon xxxx

Frightful but Delightful .......

..................... is the challenge over at Papertake Weekly this week

Here's my pumpkin-tastic card lol xxx

I thought for a change I would get away from my usual 6 x 6 format, so I drew a pumpkin shape. Now, my dear old Mum was very gifted arty farty wise, but sadly, I did not inherit her awesome drawing ability. But I think you can tell what it is, just about!!
.

Tilda is from the new Fall Collection and I coloured her with PMs and gave her a hat!! This is from pc Crafter's Ooglie Googlies collection.

The spider???

Well the less said about that the better!!!
Now before you all tell me that spiders actually have 8 legs and not 6, I realised AFTER I had done the card. To be totally truthful, I realised AFTER Emma came in and kindly pointed it out to me (slap slap, el smarty pants!!).

So it is not anatomically accurate, but hey ho - blame it on artisic licence!!!

Thank you for all your good wishes for my demo on Thursday xxx. We had a fabulous evening I have to say. I am always just blown away at just how lovely crafters are. I met some really nice ladies, as well as catching up with some familiar faces. There was lots of totally yummy food and Bucks Fizz and wine ( sadly not for me cos I was driving) and a band, and everyone had a great time. There is another one planned for 27th November so if you are in the area, pop in. I believe there is going to be a very special guest making an appearance. No Kath, it isn't Tim Holz lol xxxx Although this fella does have a beard, but it is white, he is a good bit older and he usually wears a red suit!!!!

Ho Ho Ho lol xxxx

Finally, I just wanted to say a HUGE welcome to Blogland to my Poppicrafts team mare Sara. She is new to this blogging thing, but she has some gorgeous cardage on there already for you to feast your eyes on. Sara is the lady who won the Pink Petticoat Lots of Dots comp and her work is just stunning.

Have a great evening peeps. I am off to watch part 2 of Corrie. I KNEW that John boy had something to do with Rawsie going missing (ohh he's turned into a bad lad, that one - mind you, I for one was glad to see the flippin back of her). And Sawphie is being a naughty girl as well. Ooh its all good at the mo.

Love and hugs xxxxx

Loadsa Pics (& 101 Things to Do With Nestabilites) xx

Seeing as I hadn't posted for ages and agggggesssss, I thought I would share these with you.

Tonight I am demo-ing for Creative Pastimes at Sycamore Garden Centre's open evening - all welcome if you are about, even though I know most of you aren't but heyyy it would be so utterly fab if you were xx.
So I am doing the Nestabilities thing, which I just love, and these are some of my samples.

Not much waffle today - hold that thought lol xxx - but a veritable array of cardage here. So without further ado, and starting with a shaker card, here they are and hope ya likeeeee xxxxxx

Ohh just had a quick preview and that green and red on the Santa card looks a tad on the garish side on the photo - sorry peeps, it looks nicer in real life. Maybe my scrooge McDuff camera isnt into red and green!! Which doesn't bode well for the Chrimbly stuff, but never mind, I will try harder next time, slap slap!!!!!

Papers:
Pink Petticoat and Funky Fairy

Ribbons:
Raspberry Ribbons and Poppicrafts

Images:
Pink Petticoat, Elzybells Stamps, Sugar Nellies, Whipper Snapper and Judikins

What A Rotten Week xxx

It was a truly rotten week. Talk about a bottle neck!!!!

Anyway my 'to do' list is looking a whole heap better and I feel far less stressed than I did this time last week!! Hoooorraaaahhhh xxxx

So despite me frantically e-mailing Steph on Sunday night to say that I didn't think I would be able to do anything for PTW (for the second week in a row, slap slap) as I was still working at 10.30 pm Sunday evening, I managed to find half an hour yesterday and did this for this weeks challenge which is based on one of the very talented Katharina's sketches. PLEASE don't look too closely at the colouring - of course you will, now I said that - it isn't as neat as it might have been, but like I say it's warts and all on here.

And there are a few warts in this, but hey ho!!!!

I got this Whipper Snapper stamp at the big craft fair at Port Sunlight on Saturday and I just think it is tooo cute. It was coloured (badly lol xx) with PMs - still loving them and just got my 5th set, naughty Dawny. You will see that I am still loving my MSBP as well - hee hee xxxx

The spotty paper is the most fab PP (Mini Little Big Dots - I love that download and use it so much) and the buttons and blooms are the wonderful Poppicrafts. The little sentiment is from a Woodware set I have had for years. I meant to add a bit of glitter but I was in such a rush that I forgot - dohhhh!!

Port Sunlight was completely fabulous. I was 'doing' Elzybells stamps for Creative Pastimes (which is pretty ironic I thought, as I had applied to go on the Elzybells DT but was rejected :( boo hooo lol xx). I have to be totally honest and say that I think these stamps are such good value for money and they stamp like a dream - no feathering at all.
I also got to meet quite a few lovely ladies including Shell and also my blog bud Pauline C who were both so lovely.

So that's that. I have missed my poor old blog and feel bad for neglecting it and I have no doubt missed out on a whole heap of fabulousnesss out there, so I am off for a good old nosey this morning and hope to catch up with everything, including doing some new challenges I've heard about, so hopefully there will be some cardage as well as waffle on here.

Lastly, this week I am going to try my best and answer the e-mails I have had, so please dont think I am being a rudey ignoramous or anything lol xxx

Loads of love and see ya soon xxxxxx

Bonsoir (and a little tooteee tooteeee) xxx

Hi dee hi peeps xxx

The wanderer returns.

This is just a very quick post to say a couple of huge thank yous.

Firstly thank you to everyone who has e-mailed me asking me if I was ok and if I had got Shingles from Emma. No, nothing quite as exotic as that!!! Oh and sorry if I misled you about Emma - she is my youngest but she is 27!!! And she is getting better by the day.

No, the plain truth is that I have literally been inundated with work. Most of you will know that I do have a 'proper job' and that it is in the finance sector, and as you will probably gather, it aint a fun place to be right now. Plus I have been doing wedding stationery for someone for this Saturday, plus my new card club had it's first sesh on Monday night. I was thrilled cos 18 lovelies turned up and about 6 of them had never made a card before in their entire lives!! Well how chuffed was I to see them going home all proud as punch with their cards. And it was my other card club last night with my lovely Saughall girls.

And also I am demo-ing this Saturday at Port Sunlight. If you are going, PLEASE come and say hello. I am on the Creative Pastimes stand - there are some really fabbydoodles things there lol xxx.

So all in all it's been a bit hectic with one thing or another. Normal service will be resumed very soon, but I'm sorry for being a bad blogger and not visting. I will make up for it next week xxxx

And last but by no means least, you probably guessed that the wonderful Mich has asked me too be part of her fab new DT over at Poppicrafts. Thank you darl, I am as chuffed as chuffed can be - it took me all of .5 of a nanosecond to say YES PLEASE xxxx And huge congrats to the other girls on the team as well xxxx.

Wel that's it for now. I will return with some stuff soon as I get all the jobs sorted. It has all just bottle necked - just one of them things.
I hope all is well in Blogland and that everyone is well and happy.
I have missed ya, chickens lol xxx

Love and hugs xxxxxx.
