What a day!!!! No, the earth didn't move for us here in Chester - hope it didn't effect too many people!!! I had all these ideas that I wanted to try and for one reason and another (work, Kyla being sent home from Nursery etc) I have only just finished my second card of the night.

I decided that I was going to start having a go at some of the challenges ......

The first one is for the Papertake Weekly challenge, which is 'blue and green should never be seen'. I found some odd bits of paper that I have had literally for years. It's Powder Blue / Mint collection by Printworks Collection Inc and I bought at a craft fair over 3 years ago. I cannot believe I haven't used it as it is really nice paper - how shameful :-( The flower in the centre is from the Woodware Dotty Flowers set, and I used some glitter, a tiny bit of chalk and some of Michelles fabbie brads to finish (Poppicrafts)

The second challenge I've had a go at is over at My PaperWorld - there is a link on here. There is a sketch for you to use and you can create a card based on the sketch. The papers are Pink Petticoat, the stamp is my lovely Maggie stamp (Funky Kits) and there is a bit of glitter and some old buttons from my stash.

I'm off to get some sleep now but hopefully I will have a bit more time tommorrow to do a few more xx

Saturday 23 February 2008

I ordered some stamps from Funky Kits on 20th and they arrived this morning!! How speedy is that!!! I was itching to have a go this morning but there were 101 other things I just had to do and consequently by the time I sat down to have a fiddle, it was quite late and then I could not believe it but I had one of those mental blocks!!!. Is it just me that gets this or does it happen to everyone now and then? If so, how do you deal with it cos I would be interested to know. It doesn't happen very often but it's really annoying and I know that if I had sat down earlier, I would have been fine. But anyway, I persevered and eventually managed to do 2. Once again, apologies for the dreadful photography, but I just cannot seem to get it right - oh dear!!

The first one is using my new Maggie with Dotty Scarf stamp (M0706) from Funky Kits, some PP papers, PP Mini Tags (thank you again Liz - she'll know what for), and some ribbons and glitter to finish off - I am quite predictable!! It is for my daughter's friend's 2 year old and I think the stamp is just soooo cute. My little Kyla has a hat just like that, but no green wellies just yet - she has red and white spotty Fifi wellies which she adores and would wear all the time if she were allowed!!!

I really like strong colours with black and white. The big brads are from Michelle's fab Poppicrafts, the papers and punched flowers are PP and the ribbons are from my ever growing stash!!

Also got the most gorgeous lilac blooms from Creative Pastimes today which are so delicate they are almost like lace, plus some more Prima flowers (naughty naughty, but I cannot resist them) and new set of Woodware stamps, so all being well I am hopefully going to have a more productive and inspiring cardy day tomorrow.

Have a great Saturday night xx

If at first you don't succeed ............................. give up and re-post!
These SHOULD open now xx

Heeeeelllllpppppppppp!!!

Just to let you know that the last 2 piccies I posted won't open in the big window like they should. I am trying to sort this and getting nowhere fast, but I will keep trying. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, any clues on what I am doing wrong?

Cheers me dears xx

Tuesday 19 February 2008

Had a rotten day yesterday with one thing or another (It never ceases to amaze me how some people just have to stick their oar into other people's business and cause them grief). But that's life I guess.

Anyway, enough whining Dawny!!!

Bought some Woodware stamps at the weekend. I'm not a good stamper - more into my papers - but I just thought they were really pretty. Had a bit of a play with them last night even though my heart wasn't really. I used some PP Blooming Doodles paper in black and white and blossom and the Woodware stamp is Dotty Flowers JRCL304. There is a bit of Glamour Dust on the top one, plus one of Michelles lovely little brads.

Then to cheer myself up, I got Hettie out again!! I can't look at her without smiling. The paper is PP Lola's Boudoir Rainbow Collection - boudoir stripes in lovely (and it is!!) and then I used a large and small Henrietta to look like mum and baby. I finished it off with some ribbon bits, a punched flower, a bit of glitter (naturally) and a Henrietta sentiment

And that was that!!!.

Good news today is that I have lost another 2lbs - woooo hooooo!!! The total now is 10lbs so I will stick at it for another week or so and see if I can do the stone. The M & S puds are still doing my head in and IF I lose the stone, the first thing I will do is have the gooey-est one I can get my mitts on. Haaaa!!

Yummmy xxxx

Saturday 16th February

I was chuffed to little mint balls to see some nice comments on the blog so a HUGE thank you to you lovely ladies xx. It is nice to know that other people like what you do, especially when their own stuff is just fab!!

I have had another cardy day today. I got some new stamps last week from Pink Cat (see link) and I have been dying to have a go but with one thing and another just haven't got around to it. So today I decided that as I had spent hours last night doing work on my other half's blog for him, that I would have a bit of 'me' time today and get stuck into them. Well that was the plan, but then I saw that Liz at Pink Petticoat had got another fab download - Dad's Taxis - and of course, I had to have it. Then I saw Michelle's 3-2-1 comp. So that was it - I was torn between the 3.

So I did them all - naughty naughty!!! The house is like a tip now but hey, who cares!!! So here are the fruits of my labour today. Please excuse the photography :-( I don't think David Bailey has much to worry about ........

What a fab download Dad Taxis is. Check it out peeps!! I used the leopardy one for this card and I happened to have a bit of black and white doodle stripes paper from the PP Rainbow Doodles kit and thought it looked a bit like a road for the little car to go along. So I made a little slider and the black strips push and pull it along the 'road'. A friend of mine (Annie xx) gave me some gold paper and it is really nice - lovely texture - so I used that and some gold brads to finish it off.

This one is for Michelle's comp. 3 blooms, 2 brads and 1 piece of ribbon. PP Minis big dots in pink matted onto some acid green card - I really love those colours together - and then I covered some PP monograms with some bits of other PP paper and edged them with lime green glitter. I finished it off with 3 punched flowers and 2 little green brads I got from Michelle. The ribbon was from Hobbycraft and there is a bit of bling in the centre of the flowers. It is on it's way to you Michelle xx

I am not really into stamping but I could not resist these stamps from Pink Cat - Crafty Kitty Plate 1. They are such good value, and they arrived from America within a week - awesome - and a big thanks to Melissa for fantastic service!!! I put them with the leopard print paper from PP Sweet Cupcakes and a bit of the gold paper I got from Annie. Out came the ribbons, Glamour Dust and brads to finish. I am dedicating this card to all you lovely craft queens out there.

So after all the self indulgence today, I had better go and get Richard some dinner. Bless him - he never once complains.

Have a great Saturday night folks xx

February 14th 2008

It hasn't been a bad day all in all. Apart from a rotten cold that is. Still, I have managed to make a couple of cards this afternoon with the fabulous new download from Pink Petticoat - Henrietta. The images go so well with the rest of the papers and I can see many hours of fun to come, having a play with them all. The backing paper is Pink Petticoat Minis Big Dots in black and white and the ribbons are juts some odds and ends I found at the bottom of my ribbon stash. I think she looks really cool with her gorgeous little diamond earrings. The glittery stuff is Glamour Dust which I got from my local craft shop, Creative Pastimes. I really love it as it is so fine and iridescent. It takes on whatever colour it goes over and I just cannot stop using it.

I also got my new bag of goodies from Michelle at Poppicrafts (check out her website and blog - the links are on my blog) and they are wonderful. I used one of the pink checked big brads in the centre of the Prima flower (thank you once again Jan at Creative Pastimes) on Hetties bum for the other card and the little 'cheeky' flowers are again from Pink Petticoat.

Dawny's Card Gallery

This was made using Pink Petticoat Minis Big Dots in pink and black and also Pink Petticoat flower punches. The heart shapes were made using Craftwork Cards hearts templates. and as usual, there is a bit of spotty ribbon as well!!

Another concertina card using the same Pink Petticoat Big Dots and flower shapes in lovely plus a Pink Petticoat sentiment from Simply Sentiments. Brads and a bit of bling finish it off.

This was a card I made for Emma's birthday using up bits of Pink Petticoat papers - all from the Little Fleurs kits - plain chocolate. They are all matted onto silver card and faux stitching drawn on to lok like patchwork. The stamp is from Stampendous, number Q131 - ruffled bloom - and I finished it off with Glamour Dust and brads from Creative Pastimes, Ellesmere Port

More Pink Petticoat paper, this time from Sweet Cupcakes, tiny leopard print in oatmeal. How fab - I love it!!! The shoe image is from PP Lolas Boudoir and it is finished off with a bit of glitter and black satin and oatmeal and black spotty ribbons..
