It's Hearts & Flowers ...

... over at Papertake Weekly

So here's mine.

I was a bit late getting it over to Steph this week cos it's just been mad here. But it is such a fab theme I couldn't not do it. The other DT girls have done some brilliant cards so pop over and have a mooch.

I used a Penny Black Stamp (I love that stamp), coloured with the usual and the dp is Nancy Kubo from Prima Hybrid. The ribbon is one I got from a local wholesaler and it just caught my eye

I added some bling to the punched hearts just to give it a bit of interest.
This is one of the cards we did last night at Card Club (Saughall girls, if you are reading this, we are gonna be doing this tomorrow!!)

What a night it was last night.

It started to snow quite heavily here just about 5.30pm. Which is about 30 minutes before I leave the house to go and collect the keys and get set up. I honestly thought we would only have about 3 people and it even crossed our minds that nobody would turn up, so we got one table out. But the ladies of Ellesmere Port are a tough bunch and one by one they started to arrive, and we got 2 tables out, then 3 and on it went. All in all, 18 ladies turned up in the snow - pretty fantastic I thought, bless them.

It was one of those nights though cos no sooner had I arrived at the hall, than I realised that I had left the sample cards at home - doh!!!. I didnt want them to get wet taking them to the car, so I moved them from the usual place to put them in a bag, got distracted and went off without them. So the poor ladies had no samples.

Then about 45 minutes from the end, all of a sudden all the lights went out. So we were sitting there in the pitch black, all scrambling for our mobiles . 2 of the lades had torches in their cars so they got them, we found the fuse box, saw that it had just tripped, so we were able to carry on again!!! Phew!!! xxx

Most of our snow has now gone - there is just the odd bit left. But I am told there is more on the way. Kyla has never seen snow so she was quite excited yesterday. I promised her that we would make a snowman tonight but there isn't much of it left. So hopefully this weekend, if there is more snow and it's safe to do so re the roads, we are going to go to Moel Ffamau which is a mountain near here. The snow is great there - I've seen people ski-ing before now lol xxx. We take heavy duty bin bags and slide down on them - sledges don't go half as fast!!! It brings the kid out in all of us. There's nothing like being out in it and then coming home with rosy cheeks and changing into warm clothes - I leave them in the airing cupboard before we go. Then we are all toasty again :))

I hope you are warm where you are, and I'll see you tomorrow with some more cardy stuff.

Hugs xxxxx
