Very Piggy lol xxx

Picture 004 copy1

Yes, the pale and pastel look is back after my explosion of vibrant red and black yesterday (it was never going to last lol !!!).

It’s my card for this week’s Just Magnolia challenge and this week we have a fabulous sketch by our very own loveliness that is Mina Pink Puds.  As always, the DT cards are just fantastico :)

I loved working with this sketch and I will use this little fella again for sure :)

Picture 001 copy And this is the old card.

I did a bit of paper piecing with her trousers cos it was stripey paper (bit pale on here, soz) and the rest of her has had the Copics treatment. BUT the dope has struck again cos I have a feeling that I have chucked out the piece of paper that I wrote the colours down on – doh!!!!!. You see, I  just shouldn't do ‘tidy’ cos it always bites me on the bum!!!

But I’ll have another look later and if I find it, I’ll re-edit.

So here’s the rest of the pics.

copy21

Picture 005 copy And there’s another thing as well.

The papers were from my 12 x 12 mountain (I am soo not joking about that!!)  and there is no clue on them who they are by or what they are called. So all in all, I am not doing very well today am I. Of course, the gorgeous blooms are Wild Orchid Crafts and the punch is of course my beloved MSBP which you can get from Tracy at Dies To Die For. The beige scalloped circle under the image is a Nellie’s Multi Frame and Tracy also has them – you can see them here

So that’s me done for the week lovelies.

I’ll be back over the weekend – perhaps tomorrow if I get the lardage into gear.  I have to say that it’s on the move again, woohoooo!!! Well it was until I ate a load of leerdamer last night  – that stuff is addictive!!!

But ……

I went to Next last night (after the leerdamer incident) to get Kyla some swimming cozzies and saw loads of nice things that I so wanted to buy but I am not squeezing into them just yet so I’m going to be good now. I think I’ll wait a few more weeks and see how much more blubber I can dump and then I’ll go and get me some new clobber.

See you soon and have a great Friday and a fabulous weekend, and hugs to all xxx

Verrry Un-Piggy Like …..

image1

… I know, but I just had to use red and black for this card. This might sound weird but I had a red top on at the time and maybe there was a kind of subliminal thing going on!!

But I do kind of  like it, even though I have to admit that I do usually reach for the pastels when I am colouring in these gorgeous images.

Patent leather shoes and shiny tea set are both courtesy of Glossy Accents btw :)

Anyhoos, enough waffle cos it’s time for another fairy-tastic challenge with the Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge girlies which this is week is  ……

lotv1

one of me sketches.

We have not one but THREE new DT girlies, a fab prize courtesy of the always wonderful Paul and Siri from Wild Orchid Crafts and lots of wonderful cardage to share with you, so if you get a sec, do nip over and check it all out lovely peeps.

Don;t forget that to qualify for the prize, you have to use  a Lili of the Valley Stamp  or Diecut Image on your creation. There’s over 150 images to choose from, plus there are some new Designer Die Cuts available now, all stunningly coloured. There’s 9 on each sheet and they’re £1.10 each or 10 for £10 which I think is brilliant value.

I’m going to do the shopping list and Copics colours at the end again so I’ll see you in a sec when you’ve seen the pics :)

Lili, Lilac & Lemon

Picture 003 copy Hi peeps and it’s another grey and wet day here in Chester.

Now what happened to summer?????

But it’s all nice and sunny over at Papertake Weekly and although it’s sketch time again, there is a bit of a twist this week.

So firstly, here ….

sketch #42

… is the sketch. Typical Dawny one this, very plain and hopefully lots of room for scope.

But the twist is that there is an optional extra to use lilac and lemon to sort of go with this week’s sponsor, Lilac Lemon Designs who do the most gorgeous art nouveau images

Picture 002 copy

So as it is such a pretty colour combi, I went with that and this is what I did. Unlike me I know, but I didn’t faff about with the sketch this time. I used it as it was – straight from the tin so to speak lol xxx

The image which I think is so sweet, is another one of the new releases from Lili Of The Valley – this one’s Mirror Mirror. It reminds me so much of Kyla because she just loves dressing up. I coloured her with the following Copics -

B60, BV0000, BV00, BV02, BV03, C00, C3, E00, E11, E21, E50, R11, Y02

b

The papers are Pink Petticoat’s  Little Check and Lots Of Dots and the blooms are of course Wild Orchid Crafts.

d

The border punch is Martha Stewart one but for the life of me I cannot remember what it is called. If anyone knows could they put this decrepit old girl out of her misery please and let me know please pretty please xxx

So that’s me done for today lovely peeps.

I have the most awful migraine so I’m going to go and lie down in a darkened room!!! I wonder if we are in for a storm because it is one of them there sickly headache things and looking at the ‘puter screen is not really helping, so please excuse the ‘shortie’ today.

Have a fab day and I’ll see you soon if not sooner.

AFA & A Bit Of A Wooohooo :)

Picture 003 copy

Morning peeps and I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend :)

It’s time for another challenge with the Anyone For Anya girls and this week it’s

Hot Hot hot

so zingy and bright colours or summer themes are what we want to see  (or both together if you are feeling adventurous).

Picture 001 copy I sort of went for both. There’s flowers and a butterfly and the hot pink is fairly zingy :). The images Ii used are Ladybug Nora and the mushroom. These are both new CC Designs images and are available from Tracy at Dies To Die For. You can see them here peeps :)

I coloured them with Copics and use the following colours -

C1, C5, C7, E0000, E00, E21, E50, E51, R11, R85, RV34, YG0000, YG03, YG06

butterfly

The gorgeous papers are also from Tracy and they are  GCD Cloisonne. What you can’t tell from the pic is how nice they feel. They are a fabulous texture and have a lovely linen feel to them.

The butterfly is one of the new Marianne Designs Creatables that  Tracy has in stock and this is Butterfly Style 3. You can use these with your Cuttlebug or Big Shot – aren’t they pretty and a great size as well?

The flower is of course from the wonderful Wild Orchid Crafts – have you seen the new website btw?

Picture 004 copy

So that’s me card and now for a bit of a woohooo!!!

Some of you already know this but I’ve been designing for the last few months for Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine – I STILL cannot believe it peeps!!!  Anyhoos, I haven’t put any cards on the old blog that I’ve done for the mag up till now, but it occurred to me last week (you know how quickly I catch on lol xxx) that not everyone buys it. So I thought I’d share some of the cards with you from time to time.

This month, which is now out,  I did a  ‘challenge the designer’ feature and it’s all about things to do in July.

And this ……

Picture 005ed

.. is one of the 5 cards I made.

Now very occasionally, we in the UK get a bit of sun and sometimes it is in July, so I thought it would be nice to make a BBQ invitation (we do have BBQ’s occasionally!!!).  This is such an easy peasy card to make and as the sun is sort of shining at the mo (not sure for how long lol xxx) it seemed appropriate to share this one today.

To make the apron template, I cut a piece of paper the same size as my card blank, then I folded it in half lengthways. I cut away a curved bit at the top and then opened it out again. This makes sure that both sides are exactly the same, if that makes sense. So this was my template and I then laid it on top of my card blank,  pencilled in the curved bits then cut them out.

I wanted to make the apron look like one of them there chef’s or butcher's aprons so I used navy card and then just glued white strips of card onto it – seeeemples!!! I stamped  Lili Of The Vally’s Top Chef  onto some white card (fab image!!) and then matted it onto some navy card and glued it all to to the front on 3 sides only – so this is the pocket. Then I just made a quick  tag and popped it into the pocket.

What do ya think peeps?

I reckon you could use this for all sorts of occasions just by changing the colours and the image etc.

I’m off now to do the Papermill Shop run cos it’s card club tomorrow and I need some bits and bobs.  Then we’re off on our bikes later cos time is running out and the holiday is looming and there is still plenty of blubber which needs to go (not a single solitary pound has been shifted this week and mostly I have stuck to it - grrrrr!!)

Have a great weekend and if you are BBQ-ing, hopefully the sun will stay shining for you.

Does Anybody Know……..

… how to centre  stuff in the sidebar please.

I am such a techie dimwit and I did look on Blogger Help but couldn't find anything. Maybe it can’t be done but I thought I’d ask you lovely peeps xxx.

Also just to let you know that I managed to put one of them there chatbox things in the sidebar cos my e-mail is still playing up and things don't seem to always get through. So if you have any questions etc,  just pop them in there and I’ll be able to answer them more or less straight away.

Thanks ever so and hugs to all xxx

Kiss Of Death :(

Picture 004 copy

Oh the irony wasn't lost on me today peeps.

You see, when I set the PTW challenges, I do them a few weeks / months in advance so that the DT girlies aren't under too much pressure etc. Well when I did the Papertake Weekly challenge for this week, it WAS quite nice and sunny. So I thought it’d be safe to have a summery sort of theme.

Well how wrong could I be!!!

The challenge is Fun Fun Fun and it’s all about enjoying yourself in the summer sun. See where I'm going here? Yes, today of all days it is persisting down and as grey as a single man’s y-fronts (ooh that’s a bit sexist, sorry!!!)

a But anyway, it might be nice where you are and I hope it is to be fair.

So this is what I did. The image I used is one of the new Lili Of The Valley summer releases which are now available and there is a special offer on right now cos if you buy all 12 then you save £5. You can see them all right here – they are just adorable, every single one of them.

I did me Copics thing with these colours -

B0000, B00, C00, C1, C3, E00, E21, E33, E50, R11, YG0000, YG00, YG03

Picture 005 copy The papers lovely peeps were in the bottom of my scrap box and I cannot find who they are by or anything else about them to be honest – I am sorry. But if I do, I’ll edit the post and put the details on here. I THINK I might have used them before so I’ll have to go through the posts and have a see if I can find anything there.

I was thinking that maybe this is a bit plain after all me flowers and embellies of late, but it’s a boy card so too much jazzing up wouldn’t have been suitable really.  So it’s very like my old ‘plain Jane’ style - not sure which I prefer to be honest!!!

We got up the mountain on Sunday – God knows how, cos R decided we should do the hard route for a change, the crazy fool. Jeez, I thought I was a gonner at one point and never again am I going up that way cos  still feel like I have somebody else's legs. So yesterday was spend hobbling around the house until we all went out for dinner. Then I hobbled into the pub like an old crock, which to be fair I nearly am :(

And on that depressing note I am off to  feed another chick we have to look after – a baby Buzzard and it’s so cute – and then do some work.

Have a fab day and see you soon lovely peeps. Huggiest of hugs xxxx

Sweet Amelia & A Bit Of News xxx

Picture 003 copy

I just love this image – its one of my fave TGF images ever. She’s Amelia and she’s one of the new Buddies which Tracy has in stock at Dies To Die For – you can see her and her pal Oliver here :)

So I thought I’d use her for this week’s Anyone For Anya Challenge which this week is a sketch.

sketch #10a

So this is the sketch …..

Picture 002 copy … and this is me card.

I coloured her with Copics in the following colours -

B0000, B00, C00, C1, E00, E21, E31, E50, R11, YG0000, YG03

Picture 003bowThe papers are all Wild Rose Studio Polka Dots and you can get them from Tracy – here they are and check out the new Japan and Spring Fling paper stacks as well cos they are verrrry delish :)

The ribbon is from my stash and the tiny rose is of course from Wild Orchid Crafts

Picture 005 copy

The DT cards are amazing – some crackers over there lovelies so if you get a sec, nip and have a mooch. We’ve also got a GDT call as well if you are interested.

I did say that there was a bit of news and it’s just to let you know that with effect from the end of June, I am stepping down from running the AFA blog. I am finding that I have less and less time and something has to give. We now really only get to see Kyla at weekends so I want to free up some time for her. But Yvonne is going to carry it on so it won’t be closing and I know it’s in very good hands :)

Now I just have to show you this as well.

DotComGiftShop sent me a lovely package of heart decorations and bits and bobs to have a look at and I just love them. If you haven’t already checked out this site, nip and have a look peeps. It’s full of yumminess and there’s lots of stuff us cardies and crafties can use and the prices are really good.

Anyhoos, the package included these fab goodies -

White Hanging Heart T-light Holder Alphabet Hearts Sticker Sheet Hearts Stickers Hearts Gift Tape

and

Pink Felt Hanging Heart W Flower

… this gorgeous little pink felt hanging heart kit which I’m going to help Kyla to make for her bedroom. We are just about to re-decorate it as it’s still sort of toddler-esque. Now she is 4 now, she needs it to be a bit prettier and less baby-ish, so this is perfect to hang up in there.

I really don’t know where she gets the pink and girlie thing from because my girls were tomboys – both of them – and would not entertain pink, or dresses or ribbons etc. No, it was jeans, wellies, muck and ponies with both of them!!!! And I suppose I know where they got that from cos I might like pretty things now but I was the same as them when I was younger!!!

Although I am surprised that I can actually remember that far back lol xxx

So anyway I had better get on and get some stuff sorted. We are supposedly going to climb Moel Ffamau again today. It’s got to be good for another couple of pounds of lardage I reckon and seeing as I am now in single figures re the weight ie 9 stone (plus lots of pounds admittedly lol xxx), then I am running up that flamin’ mountain / hill / big rock / whatever!!! Yeah course you are Dawny – in yer dreams girl!!!.

Have the fabbiest day and enjoy the Bank Hol and hugs to all xxx
