Is This The Easiest Card Ever????

Hi peeps and that is a bit of a bold statement but I think there may be a grain of truth in it.

I’m talking about my card for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Challenge where our theme is

Spots and / or Stripes

You can have just spots, just stripes or spots AND stripes, it’s entirely up to you!!!!!

The Design Team  are showcasing Memory Box products this week but you don't have to use them of course. And I do have a bit of new for you re Simon Says Stamp - they have just started a Monthly Card Kit and these are amazing value for money !! Check them out but if you want one, best be quick as they are going like hot cakes.

Look …..

… fabulous :)

Anyway, back to the challenge and as always,  Heidi will be giving one lucky girlie …

…  a whopper of a $50 voucher which can be spent …

Simon Says Stamp

… right here :)

Now about this card …..

Picture 001c copy

... well it mau look ‘busy’ BUT the layout is very easy and there’s no image, just a couple of die cuts, some stick on letters and a bow.

I did do a bit of stitching but even so, it took no time at all,  and I was really pleased with how it turned out.

The papers I used are all from the Echo Park Happy Days 12 x 12 kit - perfect for Feb 14th I think- and the letters are from the kit as well.

Picture 007c copy

I really like this.

Remember the ‘happy accident’ from here?

Well I’d made another flower / rolled die thing which should have gone in one of the corners but it looked dreadful so I took it off and was left with a blob of gunky glue,  hence the butterfly cover up. But I kept the flower / rolled die and it was on my desk when I started to make this card.

So I used the flower, rolled another circle in different paper, die cut a heart and inked the edges then put it all together.

Picture 006c copy

The die I used here is a Memory Box Sanibel Border die – I think I used the negative  but the beauty of this die is that you don't waste anything as both can be used and both look fab

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So here’s the stuff I used -

*Memory Box SANIBEL BORDER Craft DIE 98178            *Magnolia HEART TAG Doohickeys Cutting Dies       *Echo Park HAPPY DAYS 12 x 12 Collection Kit HD19016        *Tim Holtz Distress Ink PAD TATTERED ROSE Pink Ranger

Right, that’s me done and I hope you like the old card.

I do like CAS styles – I predict that this year will see a shift back to this sort of card – I may be wrong but it’s my prediction anyway. And I think that neon colours are going to be big as well – apparently they are all over the catwalk this season (like I’d know lol!!).

Anyway, I’ll be back tomorrow with something different but until then, have a wonderful day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Papertake Peekly!!!!

Picture 005c copy

Hi there peeps and hope you are all OK today :)

It’s time for a bit of Papertake Weekly seeing as it’s Tuesday,  and this week our theme is …

Die Cute Special

… so it’s time to get the dies out and make a cutie patootie of a card :)

This week we are sponsored by The Stamp Fairy and there is a yummy voucher up for grabs so nip and check it out chicksies if you get a sec.

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did.

I used a Stamp Fairy image and this is Molly Peekers – I think she is so sweet.

I coloured her with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R11, R20

Hair – E41, E42, E43, E50

Clothes etc – G99, R85, RV01, YG0000, YG00. YG01, YG03

The papers are from the  My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 Life Of The Party Paper Pad – I just love the colours in those papers. The border was die cut using  the Memory Box MINI SCALLOP Craft DIE 98117. Both the papers and die were from Simon Says Stamp.

Picture 004c copy

I did one of me flower thingies and again this uses the Spellbinders Rose Creations die set (Simon Says Stamp), a gorgeous pink two tone blossom from The Ribbon Girl  and a Martha Stewart BRANCH Craft Punch M230367  (also Simon Says Stamp).

Picture 0011c

I LOVE this ribbon – well I love all ribbon if truth be told!!

This is 38mm Fuschia Pink/White Spot Organza and it’s from The Ribbon Girl :)

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So that’s the old card done and I’m doing a runner cos I’ve  literally just got back in from Kyla’s birthday tea and I am knackered quite frankly!!! Yes my little treasure is 6 today – I cannot quite believe it. It won’t be long before her little sister is here (yes, we now know it’s a little girl, aww :)

But before I go, I’ll leave you with a sneakie peekie of tomorrow’s card which is the easiest card ever but so effective and I am so pleased with how it turned out…...

Picture 001c copy copy

… and on that note I’ll say night night and see you tomoz.

What’s Happened To Her Hair??????

Picture 006c copy

Hi there peeps and Happy Friday to all xxx

Today over at the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge, it’s the first one of the year and the turn of Team B

This week it’s our Special Monthly Challenge with the theme of

Anything Goes

and there is an option of  Happy New Year and/or use something new on your project.

There is a fabulous prize as well …..

of a Simon Says Stamp $25.00 voucher.

So …

Picture 001c copy

… I went for a new stamp.

I used one of the Tilda’s from the new collection. She is very sweet but I am not sure that I like her barnet like that. This maybe because I have bad memories of having a similar hair do when I was a teenager – more later!!!

So old curly Shirley here was coloured with Copics in these colours -

Skin - E000, E00, E11, E21, R11, R20

Hair - E35, E41, E42, E43, E50

Clothes etc - BV0000, BV000, BV00, BV02, BV04, E41, R11, R32, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, RV29, YG03, YG95

The papers are from the Oh The Possibilites Collection over at Nitwits

Picture 005c copy

I had a fiddle with the bloomage here and it’s a bit mix and match which I kind of like.

The main flower is for a Marianne Design Creatables die but I don’t know which one (doh!!) and this was topped with a rolled flower. Then I threaded a small ivory aster through a small paper flower and added some 5mm closed rosebuds - the asters and rosebuds are from Wild Orchid Crafts

I wrapped 2 lengths of 25mm white flat lace around the centre panel to make one really wide piece – you can’t really see it in this pic – and then wrapped a piece of  15mm Heliotrope No 7 Berisford Satin ribbon round to hide the join :)

Both ribbons are of course from Mary &Andrea over at The Ribbon Girl

Picture 002c copy

You’ll notice that the sewing machine was hauled out again but don’t worry sweet peeps cos  I will get bored of it soon lol!!!

The Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch which I got from Simon Says Stamp  was used because of a ‘happy accident’ in the corner.

It  wasn't the only ‘happy accident’ on this card – the image was matted onto some lilac card and I stitched the edges,  but made a cods of it so it was trimmed down  and now has no mat behind it nor any stitching!!!

That accident wasn’t happy at all :(

 Picture 003c copy

So there’s the old card done.

Now why I have got a bit of a downer on old Tilda’s frizz then?

Well, it’s because of these here ….

sa1085

… they are the Hair Bear Bunch,

When I was just into my teens, I had very long hair, past my bum, and I pestered my Mum to let me get it cut into a feather cut, which she reluctantly let me do (she cried when it was chopped off, aww). Anyway a year or so later it had grown a fair bit and I then decided that I wanted a curly perm – very Kevin Keegan!!!. And bless her, she let me have that as well. I liked it for about 10 seconds and realised it was a big mistake, but I brazened it out and went to school the next day feeling slightly concerned about what my friends would think. Well the girls were fine – they must have felt my pain, nay shame lol!! But the boys had a field day – they were so nasty and they kept calling me Hair Bear. I didn't know why, but then I went and found out and have to say that they were right – cry cry :(  I was the one on the left  btw lol!!)

Anyway I was mortified and ended up so unhappy with it that my poor Mum paid for me to get it straightened again (or relaxed as they called it!!). I will never forget sitting in that hairdressers for ages with this gunky stuff on my hair which smelled of depilatory, puke bluh!!!

So on that lovely note I’ll say toodle pip and see you soon if not sooner.

Have the fabbiest of weekends and hugs to all xxx

Pink & Green Should Definitely Be Seen :)

Morning peeps and at last, it’s our very first one ….

lilis-little-fairies-banner

Yes, the Lili’s Little Fairies Challenge is up and running and out first theme for you is

New Beginnings

There is a rather scrummy prize this week so if you get a sec, please nip and check it all out .

So I said that yesterday I had made a card which I was actually pleased with ….

Picture 003c copy

… and this is the very chap!!

Yes there are one or two little mishaps (ooops and aren't there always!!!) but generally I actually like it. I like the zingy colours, I like the clean look, I like the simple layout, I like the embellies, and I like the image.

What I don't like are the somewhat  grainy pics but there was no light at all here yesterday and I ended up having to shoot these in night time mode which is never good. But never mind you cant have it all I guess lol!!

The sharp eyed will notice that I have kept at least one of my rezzies and the new sewing machine has at last been used – it’s only been there since October (how shameful!!).

So be warned that you may see a lot more stitching on the old blog now!!

Picture 008c copy

So I used one of last year’s images – this is The Little Things and I chose this as my image as my new beginning was the start of the sweet little romance going on here!!

I coloured it with a mixture of Copics and Polychromos pencils and I used these colours -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R20
Hair – E41, E42, E43, E50
Clothes etc – E07, E08, E09, E41, E42, E43, E50, G99, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, RV29, YG0000, YG00, YG01, YG03

Phew!!

The papers are from the FBQ Confection and FBQ Butterfly Kisses collections over at Nitwits

Picture 007c copy    Picture 009c copy

Ohh these little blooms are so sweet I think and the pinks and greens go nicely with the colour theme here. They are Mulberry pink two tone 15mm pretty blossoms and they are from The Ribbon Girl, as are the 15mm hot pink no 52 microdot ribbon and 9mm hot pink / white saddlestitch ribbon

Sorry chicks, I cannot for the life of me remember what that MS PATP punch is called. If anybody knows please let me know and I’ll update this bit. That will teach me to chuck out the packaging before noting the name won't it :(

The little self adhesive pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts

Picture 005c copy

Picture 006c copy

So there you have it – all done for another day.

I do hope you are all OK cos the weather was fierce last night wasn’t it :(  Blimy O’Reilly (whoever he is/was) , I thought the lamppost on the main road was going to snap in half cos it was bending so much!!

Take care and see you tomoz.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Something New

Picture 006c copy

Morning lovely peepers and hope you are all OK today and not too blown away by the terrible weather we had yesterday.

Chester got away lightly although there was really heavy rain first thing but when I saw the news and saw what other places had been like, it was nothing at all. Hope all is well for you anyway xxx

So over to the jolly old US of A today and time to catch up with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. Our theme today is

Something New

and as this is quite a common theme this week, it’s a great opportunity to bit of challenge combining :)

Talking of new, do you like this …..

… it’s our brand new voucher design and I think it’s so sweet.

And of course the lucky winner will get to spend it ….

Simon Says Stamp

… in the store :)

This week, the DT are showcasing Cuttlebug products but of course you don't have to. But if you have them, why not get them out and have a go:)

Picture 001c copy

So this is my card and I went for a Magnolia image – this is Lace Jeans Tilda (I think she’s a bit of a cheeky monkey this one!!) and coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E11, E21, R11 – R20 - skin

E41, E42, E43, E50 - hair

C00, C1, C5, C7, R05, R17, R27, R59 – clothes etc

The papers I used are these ….

.. and they are from a Basic Grey Little Black Dress  6 x 6 Paper Pack

*Basic Grey LITTLE BLACK DRESS 6 x 6 Cardstock Paper Pack 3494

Verrry delish me thinks!!!

Picture 004c copy

I had a little fiddle here – just to do something different really, and I cut one of Lord Tim of Holtz’s Tattered Florals Dies, topped it with a white Prima Flower then made a rolled flower from a small Nestie circle. Oh and I popped a little Hero Arts Gem which I’d coloured  in the centre to cover up the Glossy Accents I’d used to stick it together (that stuff is AMAZING – even Moses couldn't part it once it’s stuck !!!)

Picture 005c copy

The Cuttlebug Folder I used is I think one that most of us have cos it is so useful and it is of course the Swiss Dots Folder. I like this one because it isn't too fussy and the pattern goes with just about everything really.

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So there we are done for today.

I’ll be back tommorow with a card that I literally have just finished so no sneakie peekies to share,  but it’s one of those cards that I am quite pleased with - it doesn’t happen THAT often – AND I did something I never did before as well (no, it wasn't that I didn’t make an mistakes cos there’s bound to be one or two lol!!).

So tune in tomoz and all will be revealed.

Till then, have the fabbiest of January days, stay warm and dry, and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Happy New Year Sweet Peeps xxx

Picture 006c copy

Hi there peeps and a very Happy New Year to all. I wish everyone the best year with lots of happy crafting along the way xxx

Have you made any resolutions? I have but more in a sec ….

Firstly it’s time to pay our first visit of the year to Papertake Weekly and we have our usual

Anything Goes

theme this week with the optional extra to use a ‘new’ them, so new house, new baby, new beginnings, new year, new stash – you get the picture lol!!!

But it’s only an option so feel free to ignore it!!

We are sponsored by the lovely Lisa & Laila from Lili of The Valley and there’s a yummy voucher up for grabs so nip over and check it all out when you get a sec me darlins xx

Picture 002c copy

And this is what I did.

I have to say that so far I have struggled to get back into the old crafting malarky following the hols  and hope I get back to normal PDQ cos it’s driving me up the flag pole quite honesty!!

I used one of the new Lili Of The Valley images – this is All Our Dreams – and it comes with it’s own sentiment …..

Picture 005c copy

… awww, isn't that lovely :)

I coloured it with the following Copics -

E000, E00, E11, E21, B0000, B00, B05, B12, G99, YG0000, YG00, YG03

and all the papers are from NitwitsFBQ Bundle of Joy and Bundle of Joy Too

Not often that I do boy type stuff I know,  but I thought I’d do something different for a change!!!

Other stuff I used  is -

210503-BluePretBloss      065909-gg_spot_blue  205154-ricrac_blue

All from The Ribbon Girl and

100 SELF ADHESIVE RHINESTONES - BABY BLUE - Click Image to Close

from Wild Orchid Crafts

The Martha Stewart Flower Bed  Deep Edger Punch is from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 003c copy

Picture 004c copy

And talking if SSS, here’s a little sneakie peekie or 3 of tomorrow’s cardage ….

sp1    sp2    sp3

.... mmm, I wonder if you can guess what image I used lol!!!!

OK back to the resolutions which I will TRY and keep but I’m not optimistic about some of them.

#1 - I am going to try and do a bit more blogging cos it has dropped off somewhat these last few months. Of course this is dependant upon work and other stuff but it’s on the list so I will be doing my best.

#2 - I am going to cook / bake more, Over the hols I did loads of it and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it.

#3 -  I am going to actually USE the sewing machine I bought not so long ago instead of leaving it sitting forlornly in the craft room

#4 - I am going to TRY and regain my fitness levels cos they are not great at the mo and I don't like it. So I rejoined the gym and I have actually been and had a game of tennis with his Lordship – I now have a sore wrist, grrrr (so note to dopy here that it is advisable to wear the wrist brace that is sitting in the cupboard).

Reading this as I am typing it, I can see a flaw in the master plan already, so resolution  #2 may have to be modified to cook more healthy stuff because if not, resolution #3 will have to be used for sure,  if only to let out my clothes!!!!

Rightly-oh I better go and do some work. Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tomoz.

Huggiest of new year hugs to all xxx
