Twisting My Melon Man!!!

   Picture 003c copy

Hi there lovely peeps and happy Saturday to y’all :)

I’m a day late with the old card because I had to take his Lordship for physio and it took longer than we thought and  then we got ‘Kyla’d’  so it all sort of went out of the window yesterday.

So anyway this is my card for this week’s Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this week our theme is

Springtime

We are sponsored today by the best ribbon gals in the biz and of course I mean …

.. so nip across and have a mooch if you get a sec :)

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did.

I went for Spring colours and thought I’d do something different from my usual 6x6 and so I went for a twisted easel card. Well twisted was about right because they are the easiest peasiest cards in the word to make,  but I simply  cannot take a decent pic of them to save my life. By the end of it my lot were very nearly calling the cops because I was quite frankly incensed with it lol!!!

So apols lovely peeps  :(

I used Watercan Tilda and coloured her with these Copics -

Skin -  E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E42, E43, E50, E81

The rest – C00, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, G99, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, YG0000, YG00, YG03

The papers are all from Nitwits .

Picture 006c copy

I used a Magnolia Lovely Fence Die and chopped it up … like you do!!!

Picture 002c copy

The butterfly was made using 2 Memory Box dies.

The bottom layer is Darla Butterfly and the top is Vivienne Butterfly. They look nice together I think and these dies cut like a dream. All the dies here today are available from Simon Says Stamp.

The beautimous bow was made 38mm Pink/White Striped Grosgrain from The Ribbon Girl :)

Picture 004c copy

Ohh this pic is dreadful.

So much cloning going on in the background to hide the paper joins that it looks filthy, cry cry!! But hopefully you can see how it is all set up.

Like I said,  taking these pics really was twisting my melon and majorly!!! . So I thought that I’d share a bit of melon twisting  Happy Mondays with you seeing as it’s Saturday and the lovely Miss Marcea does her Music Saves My Soul thing today. So I’ll leave you with a very young Sean Ryder and if you get to about the third minute you’ll see a very young Bez  complete with shed loads of specs (why??? who knows – not even him I suspect!!) strutting his stuff.

I love Bez and I’ll let you into a little secret here …. many moons ago when I was a fair old bit younger than I am now, I used to do a very good Bez  impression when I’d had a few!!!!! Truly it must have been a sight to behold (not)!!

I tried to teach Kyla to do the freaky dance thing when she was about 2 but she just used to look at me like I was completely off my rocker :) Mmm well she may have had a point there!!

So enjoy the Mondays, even though it’s Saturday - at least we got the ‘happy’ bit right!!

See you next week  loveliest of peeps and have the best weekend.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxxx

Lilac, Lavender & A Little Cutie Too (Plus This Week’s BFTP)

Picture 006c copy

Morning lovely peeps and we have another gorgeous day here in the UK today.

We have sun but no fuel it would seem as we have all been panic buying, but it’s hard not to when you think you will run out.

Anyway it’s time to nip over to see what’s happening at the Lili’s Little Fairies Challenge and this week our theme is

Anything Goes

so  time to fill your creative boots so to speak!!

We are sponsored this week by Nitwits

image

So ….

Picture 001c copy

… this is what I did.

I went away from my usual colours and used lilacs and lavenders. I also used another of the brand new release which of course is now on sale and today I used Patchwork Bunch Of Balloons.

I coloured him with these Copics -

Bear – E25, E29, E33, E35, E50, E51, E99

Balloons – V000, V06, V09, V12, V15, V17, V91, V95

and I also used some polychromos pencils as well.

The papers are from the new FQB Gratitude collection from Nitwits

Picture 004c copy

You can just about see this but I made a double bow using some mauve vintage seam binding and some 25mm white plain sheer ribbon and both are from The Ribbon Girl :)

Picture 005c copy

I made a flower using the Peony Petals die set from Simon Says Stamp. I inked the edges and added some glitter then topped them off with a small punched circle which I’d covered with some seed beads I happened to have on my desk.

Picture 007c

The inside was decorated to go with the front of the card and I will be adding this card to my ebay site shortly

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So that’s the card done and now its time for my blast from the past.
I thought that  seeing as the sun was out, I’d choose a sunny, happy, feel good sort of vid and this one always made me smile. My kid used to love it when they were young as well  because they liked the fact the the little girl gets the old man a drink!!! Aww, what nice caring little dinks I had lol!!!
Personally I liked it cos I liked Michael Stipe, although I now know I was barking completely up the wrong tree there (not that I was ever likely to run off with him of course lol).
Anyway enjoy the vid - I hope it makes you smile -  and see you tomoz.
Have a wonderful  day and huggiest of sunny hugs to all xxx

Something Completely Different :)

Picture 005c copy

Happy sunny morning loveliest of peeps and hope you are all OK today.
We’re promised another lovely day here in the UK and it’s such a nice change to wake up to sunshine. We are so not used to it really!!!

Anyway it’s time to check out what’s happening over the water at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and we have one of your fave themes today because

Anything Goes

This week, the DT  are showcasing products from My Favorite Things and as always, you don't have to use them.  But if you do have some then we would love to see what you do with them :).

And as always, our lovely Heidi is giving away a humungous …..

… which our lucky winner will get to spend ….

Simon Says Stamp

.. right here.

Picture 001c copy

So I thought I’d do something a little different – just for a change  - and I think it’s nice to get away from the usual image / papers /embellies every now and then. These ‘Anything Goes’ challenges are perfect for pushing your creativity a little further or maybe just experimenting with things you don't usually use etc.

The papers are all from a Basic Grey Little Black Dress  6 x 6 Paper Pack and I used Wonky Rectangles nesties and Spellbinders Rose Creations dies.

Picture 004c copy

To make the flower I cut 2 of the next to largest dies, 2 of the next size down, 1 of the next size down again and finally 2 of the smallest dies.

Take the largest cuts first and curl both sides of each petal using a bone folder. Run an embossing tool over the centres  so that the petals start to curl upwards and then glue together, offsetting the petals.

Repeat for the next size down.

Glue these all together.

For the next size down, just go over with the embossing tool again and then add this to the bloom.

Repeat with the smallest sizes but really go over them with the embossing tool so that they are all but curled closed then glue them together and add to the bloom.

Pop a brad in the centre and you’re done :).

Picture 005c copy

I used my new MFT Leafy Flourish die which I am so loving at the mo.

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

And there you have it.

It’s quite striking with these papers and I think if you used all white papers / elements etc,  you would have a very different look again. I am going to have a fiddle when I get a bit of time so I’ll share when I do.

Right I’m off as I have a list as long as yer arm to get through and barely enough time as per usual. Plus I have to get all the prep done for card club on Monday so I want to make a start today. It’s non stop sometimes at chez piggy!!!!

I’ll be back tomorrow with my usual format and a helping of fairy-ness but until the, have the sunniest of days and huggiest of hugs to all xxxx

So what do we have today then?

Well it’s  Tuesday so it’s Papertake Weekly time and as it’s the last one of the month, it’s sketchie time  as well.

Picture 001c copy

And here’s the old card and I’ll be popping it on ebay later on :)

I’ve done another sneakie peekie of one of the new release – not long now girls – and this one is called Close Your Eyes.  It’s ever so cute :)

It was coloured with Copics in these colours -

Skin -  E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E25, E35, E43, E51, E81

The rest -  E25, E29, E35, E51, G99, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10YG0000, YG00, YG03

and of course the papers are all from Nitwits.

Picture 004c copy

I got these gems from the NEC on Saturday from The Hobby House – absolutely bargainous peeps!!!

I also thought I’d add a bit of  Magnolia Lovely Fence Die for no other reason than I just love this die. You can get it from Simon Says Stamp of course.

Picture 006c copy

I did the inside of the card to match the front.

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

And there you go.

Well what a fab time we had at the NEC on Saturday. I went with my Nikkie and we had a good old bead shop :)

All we have to do now is make something with them lol!!!

I love going  to the NEC but not for the shopping.  For me, the best bit is catching  up with lovely peeps who started out as blog buds and ended up as friends, and  we had a very nice lunch in Wetherspoons.  A highlight this year  for me was finally getting to meet Mary & Andrea from The Ribbon Girl. and they are both every bit as nice as I imagined they would be. The usual gang were there including Kim Piggott and her gorgeous daughter Claire who had a good old non crafty chat with Nikkie, my cyber twin Kath (love ya Mrs K xxx) ,  Heather (who looked fab following her illness last year) , Jo, Tab and Kim Dellow.  Thank you one and all for a super couple of hours xxx  MIA though were Mummy Fairy Jacqui and Chris Dark  but hopefully next time girlies cos I really missed you xxx

Well did you see the final of DOI then? Not a shock that Matthew won cos he was pretty awesome.  I did feel a bit sorry for Chico when he nearly dropped Jodeyne – that could have been really nasty!!! But that’s it for another year and I do hope that for the next series they replace Christine Bleakely – talk about smug!!! It may be me but Phil doesn’t seem to have the same chemistry that he had with Fern or Holly.

So now it’s  time for BGT.

Ohh my life, what about that young lad then? It actually made me cry when he sang.

If you didn't see it peeps, here’s a little clip …..

.. is he amazing or what!!

And you just know that he’s had a hard time of it because of his weight so if he ever was bullied – and to be fair, it didn't say that he had been but I did wonder -  then it’s one in the eye for them now isn’t. I’m sure that this kid will do really well.

Right I’m off to get some work done and then later I am baby sitting Miss Kyla cos Emma has parents’ evening. She wanted to come with us on Saturday but my nerves would not have stood it – I’d have been terrified of losing her.  I had to drop her off bright and early so we missed the baking thing but I’m sure we will make up for it next week.

Have a fabulous day and see you tomoz and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Friday, 23 March 2012

I’ve Done It At last!!!!!!!!

Hi there sweet peeps and hope you are all OK today.

Tis Friday and the weekend is almost here. Tomorrow I am off to the NEC and will no doubt be frequenting Wetherspoons for most of the day so if you are about, come and say howdy. I cannot wait to catch up with everyone again :)

I don’t have any cardage today but I just wanted to say happy weekend to y’all and also to let you know that I have joined the 21st century at long last and thanks to the loveliest of lovelies Miss Marcea, I am now officially an ebay seller!!

Woohoooo!!

I am a real technical dimwit (it is sooo true) so this gorgeous girlie helped me to set it all up  - thank you sweet cheeks – you are the BEST, mmmmwaaaahhhhhh xxxxxx

I am quite chuffed to see one of my cards on there.

Just the one mind!!!

Poor Billy No Mates it is. I do have others but I have yet to list them but they will be on there soon. There will be no stopping me now and the family better watch out or I will be selling them on there next!! Mind you, whoever got my Richard would soon send the begger back!!!

Bless him – I wouldn’t sell him really!!!!

So have the best weekend and don’t spend too much if you are going to Brum. Actually, yes, do spend loads and loads. It’s only twice a year and we so deserve a little splurge don’t we lol!!

See you soon as soon and huggiest of hugs to all xxxxx

Picture 005c copy

Morning peeps and hope you are all OK today :)

It’s time to nip across the water and catch up with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and today it’s time for a game of

Bingo :)

And here’s the card …….

As usual, Heidi is giving away a humungous …..

which our winner will get to spend  …

Simon Says Stamp

… right here in the store.

This week the Design Team are showcasing Magnolia products so if you have any, why not get them all out and join in the fun. You don’t have to use them of course and  you can still enter this challenge and use other stuff if you want :)

So….

Picture 001c copy

… here’s my card.

It reminds me of  marshmallows – don’t you just love the smell of them? The taste isn't bad either lol  :)

I coloured sweet Tilda & her Bunny with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E42, E43, E50, E81

The rest – E43, E50, E81, RV0000, RV000, RV00, RV10

Picture 004c copy

This is the first time out for my Peony Petals die and I did the rolled flower thing and popped it on the top.

I really like this die, as I do all of the Magnolia dies – you probably noticed!!!! . They are just about as good as you can get I think and you are guaranteed a nice clean cut every time. Mine get some hammer, they truly do,  and not just on here but also for my classes and workshops and they are still as good as the day I got them.

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So here’s the stuff I used and if you do the clickie piccie thing, it will take you to the right place in the store.

*American Crafts Dear Lizzy NEOPOLITAN 6 x 6 Paper Pad       *Magnolia PEONY PETALS Doohickey Cutting Dies        *Magnolia LEAF & SWIRL Doohickeys Cutting Dies

*E8-001 Spellbinders CLASSIC SCALLOP Edgeabilities Dies        *Magnolia TILDA AND HER BUNNY Rubber Stamp Butterfly Dreams 2011

So that’s the card done and if you get a sec, nip over and check out the challenge sweet peeps.

Not long now till the NEC and I am so looking forward to going. Not for the shopping although I’m sure I will be doing a bit of that no doubt, but I just love to catch up with everyone. I am really looking forward to meeting Mary & Andrea and of course my cyber twin Mrs Kath and all the other lovely girlies too.

Wetherspoons, you have been warned!!!!!

My Nikkie is coming with me and we are hitting the bead stands as well as the cardy stuff as I need to get some more beadage and bits and bobs. I keep thinking that I might start putting my jewellery pics on here as well, or maybe start up a separate blog just for that side of it. Maybe one day when I have a bit more time. Now if only they sold that at the NEC!! Mind you if they did,  I would be bankrupt for sure!!!!!

So on that note I’ll be off and go and get some work done. Have the best day and see you back here tomorrow.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxxx

Sneak Peeks & Giveaways … It’s All Going On!!!!

Picture 005c copy

Morning sweet peeps and what a lovely Spring morning it is here in Chester. The sun in shining and the birds are singing and it’s gorgeous:)

And speaking of gorge, I am so pleased to tell you that on the third Tuesday of every month now, I am having a oh so fab candy prize giveaway which the lovely Mary & Andrea  over at ….

ribbon girl logo

….  have given to me .

We all love a bit of ribbon and you can’t have too much in my humble opinion. In fact I don't think I make many cards without ribbon it it somewhere. So as it is indeedy the third Tuesday of March today, it’s time for my first giveaway.

This month I thought I would be ever so predictable and go for …….

kit_fuschia

… PINK :)

So if you fancy your chances at winning this delish pink ribbon kit, all you have to do is leave your name with old Linky at the end of the post and I will draw the winner next Tuesday and the hugest of thanks to The Ribbon Girl for their sponsorship xxx

Now as it’s Tuesday it’ s time to nip over and check out what’s happening with the Papertake Weekly gang and this week it’s time for a game of Bingo and here ….

bingo march 2012

… is the card.

If you get a sec go and have a mooch cos as always the DT have made some fab stuff to share with you.

I also mentioned a sneak peek and today is the first day of the sneak peeks for the brand new Lili of The Valley release which will be on sale on March 28th.

So here ….

Picture 001c copy

… is one of the brand new never seen before images.

It’s  called Patchwork Butterfly and how sweet is that little poppet bunny!!!  I coloured it with these Copics-

B0000, B000, B00, C00, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV10, YG0000, YG03

The papers are what I had left over from the Tulip pack I used the other day.

Picture 002c copy

I went for the centre line across on the bingo card,   ie ribbon, free and punched shapes.

The ribbon is the same  15mm gingham that is in the Ribbon Girl giveaway kit and the punched shape I used was made from a  Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch. As for the free, well it had to be my new toy, the Martha Stewart PATP Deco Fan Shells set.

Good old Martha :)

Both punches are from Simon Says Stamp.

Picture 003c copy

So that’s me all done.

Ohh did you guess right re the killer in Corrie then?

I have to say that I sussed her out ages ago. They don’t call me the Miss Marple of Saughall Village for nowt peeps!!! I assumed it had to be a minor-ish character as none of the main ones were seen to be leaving.  I did consider the new girlfriend at one point  but my money was always on Mummy Dearest' Foster. Shame she didn’t take silly Sally and even dafter Kevin with her – what a pair of twerps  they are (see, I think it’s real!!)

And what about poor old ‘Hev’ in Easties?  It’s been a bad week for death in Soap-land!! In fact, if you consider John Barton in Emmerdale as well, it’s been a bad year all round so far …. and we are only in March!!!!

Anyway I better go (and get a life by the looks of it) and I’ll see you tomoz.

Take care and have a fab day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx
