Zingy, Springy & Anythingy :)

Picture 007c copy

Morning lovely peeps and hope you are all OK today.

It’s the 29th February today so it’s the one day out of 1461 days when us girlies get our chance to  propose.  It makes me slightly uncomfortable in a way because if they didn't ask you in the 1460 days before (or however long you have been with them for), then part of me would be thinking that maybe they weren't really up for it.

Or maybe I am just a cynical old moo with about as much romance in my soul as a fish finger!!!!

Anyway, this is me on my wedding day. I really did kiss a frog didn't I lol!!

Anyway enough of this leap year nonsense!! It’s time to nip overt and check out what;s happening at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and today we have one of your fave themes cos

Anything Goes

so fill your creative boots and have fun.

There is as always a whopper of a …

… which one lucky girlie can spend ….

Simon Says Stamp

… right here.

The DT are showcasing My Mind's Eye products this week so if you have any we would love to see you use them but you don’t have to if you don't want to.

So I did ….

… this bad boy here.

The papers I used are from one of my fave ever MME papers, the Life of the Party 6 x 6 pack.

The image is of course Tilda & Her Bunny and I coloured her with Copics in these colours -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E25, E35, E47. E50, E81 and check me out doing a brunette Tilda …. but doing it quite badly :(

The rest – E43, E81, RV0000, RV000, RV00, RV10, RV29, YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG95

Picture 004c copy

No Tilda swirl die today – I gave it a day off for good behaviour.

I went for the Magnolia Doily Flower die instead. I inked the edges then added a bit of glitter, then made a rolled flower which I topped off with some bling.  To finish it off I added a couple of leaves punched using a  Martha Stewart Frond Leaf punch.

The shape behind the image was cut using a die from the Spellbinders Fleur de Lys Motifs Shapeabilities set.

So there you go me darlins. If you get a sec, nip over and check out the challenge.

So that’s it from moi today and I’ll see you tomorrow with something fairy-ish!! Have a fab day and mind yer joints when you are getting down on one knee to propose lol!!! But if you are planning on doing it, good luck and fingers crossed that he says yes. He would be mad not to wouldn't he :)

First One For Weeks!!!!!

Picture 006c copy

Morning lovely peeps and I hope that you are all ok today and that you had a nice weekend :)x

Today is Papertake Weekly day (which sounds weird!!) and I realised that it has been weeks since I actually made card for it, even though I have been doing the posts. But it’s  nice to be back with my teamies cos they are a fab group of girlies and I have to thank them all for soldiering on without me these last few weeks  xxx.

As it’s the last one of the month, we have one of me sketches …..

.. and it’s this one here which is very like me ie clean and simple lol!!!

We’re sponsored by those lovely peeps across the water, the fabulous Simon Says Stamp and there’s a $20 voucher up for grabs so if you get a sec, nip over and check it all out – you have to be in it to win it :).

So….

Picture 001c copy

… this is what I did.

I used one of the new Lili Of The Valley releases and this little sweetie is Pretty Bouquet. As per usual, I did the Copics thing and I used these colours -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E42, E43, E50, E81

The rest – RV0000, RV00, RV000, RV10, RV29, YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG95, YR04, YR07, YR17

Picture 005c copy

Ooooerr, this isn't like me!!

Is that a bit of distressing going on there?

Yes it is and I cannot think why I did it really.  I'm not sure that it lends itself but anyway it’s done now. I just cannot get this technique right and I do wonder if maybe my style (ie plain and boring) isn't really suited. But I cannot help meself from dabbling at times!!

I also cannot help using the Magnolia leaf and swirl die either it would seem!!!

The papers btw are from the new Nitwits collection that is FQB One Birdie Lane – I think that these ones came from One Birdie Too. They are really pretty with fresh Spring colours.

This ribbon is beautimous.

It sits just how you want it to sit and is a joy to work with. It’s 38mm fuschia  faux silk ribbon and is of course from our very own Mary and Andrea over at The Ribbon Girl.  The little bling flower is one that I found in my stash looking a bit forlorn but it goes rather well with the ribbon :)

So there you have it me darlins.

Did you watch Dancing On Ice on Sunday? Jeez that blade going in Matt Evers face was a bit nasty.

But I loved his and Jorgie so not Porgie’s routine.

I didn't love Chico and Andy doing a bit of a musical thing before they skated – bah humbug, you dour old moo.  I am such a party pooper. And please in the name of God, somebody tell me that Chico had his hair like that for the show and that it isn't a permanent fixture????

Is it?????

He looks like he has been at the home hair dye and left it on a bit too long  then caught sight of himself in the mirror.  He was  probably too busy doing his ‘what time is it’ thing and missed the ‘it’s time to wash it off now’ bit.   He wouldn’t look out of place in any of the gay clubs in Chester now. My nephew, who is gay-er than Mardi Gras and camper than a row of pink tents,  bless him, goes to them  and I’ve seen his mates!!!!!!  And I went with him once and had a fab night.

But I do hope that he (sorry, I’m back to Chico now) gets shut of it cos I am not at all fussed. To be fair, he would probably say the same about me if he saw me as I just had mine cut short in an attempt to get rid of the purple / pink / red dye that I have caked on these last few years. I’m now thinking pot, kettle and what a hypocrite Dawny – who am I to criticise his locks, or anybody else’s for that matter!!!

So on that note, I’m off. I’ll be back tomoz with my card for the  Simon Says Stamp Challenge – no sneakie peekie today as I haven't yet taken the pic – far too busy casting aspersions on poor Chico’s barnet no doubt.

But have yourselves a great day and I’ll see you back here bright and early.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Woooo-hoooooooo :)

Picture 006c copy

Morning loveliest of peeps and a very Happy Saturday to y’all today xxx

Well I thought I’d scheduled my post for yesterday but being true to my dopey dozy self, I hadn't – doh, ya pillockess Dawny!!!

Anyway it’s nice to be in the Land of Blog on a Saturday even if I am now 2 days late with this post. Talk about away with the fairies. And actually, that’s where we are heading right now,

So over at the Lili’s Little Fairies Challenge this week. it’s all about

Afternoon Tea

and it’s quite appropriate today  as me and my Kyla have been baking this morning – as we do most Saturday mornings – and although the cakes are made, she had to dash off to her swimming lesson so they are un-finished at this moment.  But we will indulge ourselves in a spot of afternoon tea later and before they disappear, I’ll do a pic and share with you. Bless her, she is quite a good little baker :)

Anyway enough of the boasting granny bit, here …..

Picture 001c copy

.... is my card.

I used Cake Glorious Cake ( I quite agree!!)  and gave her the  Copics treatment as follows -

Skin -  E00, E000, E11, E21, R00,  R20

Hair – E42, E43, E50

The rest – E41, E43, E50, r RV0000, RV00, RV10

If I did this again I would add a bit more colour to the skirt and shoes as they looks a bit wishy washy. But hey ho!!

The pretty papers are all  from Nitwits

Picture 005c copy

Gorgeous colour this – it’s 16mm saddlestitch ribbon from the lovely Mary & Andrea over at The Ribbon Girl. I topped it off with a sparkly button :)

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So there’s the old card all done – better late than never.

I noticed that my fab friend Miss Marcea has her Music Saves My Soul post on today so I thought I’d  join is seeing as I’m about lol!!

The reason I chose this one is because it  was the Brits this week and one of my fave bands were featured so this song was in my mind. It’s  one of my fave Blur songs ever ever EVER and I have loads of memories of jumping about and singing this very loudly in an ever so slightly drunken state (surely not I can hear you cry!!).

Well it’s true I’m afraid –but  it’s truly awesome, as am I when I’ve had a few!!!! .

So enjoy me darlin’ peeps, feel heavy metal and let’s hear those woooo-hooos :)

The vid is a cracker and isn’t Mr Allbran a bit of a tasty treat too.

See ya soon and enjoy your weekend and huggiest of hugs to all.

Woooo-hooooo xxxxx

It Doesn't Take Long ……..

Picture 012c copy

Hi there peeps and long time no speakie.

I have been ever so slightly unwell these last few weeks, putting it mildly,  and have had about as much get up and go as a comatose sloth!!! But I am getting back to normal (ish!!) now and have at last managed to make a card, even though it took me almost 2 days.  It doesn’t take long to get out of the swing of it does it. Anyway I would just like to say a quick thank you for your lovely emails and if I haven't replied, I will get around to it soon as soon.

Also hugest of thanks to the DT companies and team members for bearing with me these last few weeks. It has been a great help not to have had any pressure and it has been greatly appreciated.

OK so we starting to get back in the swing of the old card making malarky and today I am sharing the card I made for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Challenge  (I am a day late but not a dollar short!!) and this week we want you to

Use 3 Papers

As always, the lovely Heidi is giving away a whopping …

… which one lucky winner will get to spend ….

Simon Says Stamp

… here :)

This week, the DT are showcasing CC Designs and The Greeting Farm images and there’s a  GREAT variety of rubber stamps from both these companies availabe in the store so if you get a sec, nip over and check it all out.

So ….

Picture 007c copy

.. this is what I did.

I used Party Time Lucy and coloured her with the following Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R11, R20

Hair – E41, E42, E43, E50

Clothes etc -  BG0000, BG01, BG10, BG15, R05, R17, R27, R59

The yummy papers are all from this kit ……

*Echo Park HAPPY DAYS 12 x 12 Collection Kit HD19016

…  which is the Echo Park Happy Days 12 x 12 kit

Picture 010c copy

Oops,  I should have made sure that the petal was lying a bit flatter ( what an amateur!!). The flower was made using the smallest of the  Magnolia Doily Flower dies and I added a rolled flower and a bit of bling. And some things never change do they cos the good old Magnolia leaf and swirl die is still in favour it would seem.

Picture 011c copy

A bit of printing and chopping here :)

Picture 008c copy

Picture 009c copy

.. and there you go - my first card in ages!!!

I did say that I would do an all our yesterdays blast from the past thing on a Thursday so here goes with this week’s pick to make you feel old (well some of us in any case!!).

It’s back to 1991 …..

… and I love love LOVE this one.

REM were the first band I ever took my Emma to see (Huddersfield 1995 - did anybody reading this go? I’d love to know if you did). It was a boiling hot day and The Beautiful South were on with them, as well as Echo Belly and Magna Pop who were not that good IMHO   :(   I could ramble on all night about it cos it was fab, but I better not cos you would be bored rigid lol!!.

So have a great evening whatever you are doing and it’s nice to be back in the land of Blog once again. I will be back tomorrow with the card that should have been on here today -  I am running a day late but I will catch up soon for sure.

Take care and huggiest of hugs to all xxx
