Picture 005c copy

Morning peeps and  a very happy Friday to all xxx

And hahhhaaaaa Mr Weatherman cos you said it would be raining  here today and it is actually  GORGE :) No doubt I will pay later for my smugness when there is a torrential downpour just as I am collecting Kyla from school.

Today over at the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge we have a fabulous challenge for you which has been set by our very own Mindy and it is

Pink, Purple & Pearls.

Do I sense lots of happy faces out there then? I know mine was when I saw it.

As well as a nice challenge we have 2 prizes up for grabs and they are ….

20 Euro Credit to the Embellishments DE store.

Plus another lucky person will win one of Mindy’s Magnolia Copic Coloring Class at Color me Creative!

But it doesn’t stop there because today I have my very first blog sponsor – wooohooooo :)  I couldn’t be more chuffed to say that my post today is sponsored by Wild Orchid Crafts

DawnyP_blog

Hugest of thanks to Paul & Siri xxx

So if you want to win the goodies above all you have to do is post it on your blog and then leave your name with good old Mr Linky at the end of the post and I’ll get the Random thingy to pick one of you this time next week.

Good luck to all xxx

Picture 001c copy

I used the old  Magnolia leaf and swirl again (yes I know it’s getting booooring but I am addicted and probably need some form of therapy to stop me using it lol !!).

But I went for something a bit different than my usual 6x6 card and I used a grand circle and grand scalloped circle die to make the base.

Watercan Tilda (aww!!)  was coloured with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E31, E40, E42. E50 (hair), BV0000, BV00, BV02, BV04, C00, C1, C3, C5, R85, RV0000, RV00, RV14 (clothes etc)

The papers are Pink Petticoat and image, die and Copics  are from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 004c copy    Picture 008c copy

And another beautisimous array of  bloomage courtesy of Wild Orchid Craft

The arrangement was made using  a  Classic  Colour Range 35mm trellis rose, hip rosebuds - 2, 6mm closed rosebuds - 2, 10mm open roses - 1, sweetheart blossoms – 2,  and a cherry blossom

Picture 007c copy

The  self adhesive pearls are also from Wild Orchid Crafts  …..

Picture 006c copy

… and the pretty pink ribbon is my fave silky crush from The Ribbon Girl :)

OK so that’s the cardage done for the week and I’m off to do the prep for my jewellery class tomorrow at Purple Butterfly Crafts.

I will be back at the weekend but before I go I must share this with you lovely peeps. I was lucky enough to be asked if I would try out and review this fabulous lamp here …

590 copy

It’s a daylight table top lamp with a magnifier and is available from The Daylight Lamp Company.

I have to tell you that I am really impressed with it. I did have a small one before and I thought it was OK but once I tried this one there was no comparison. For a start, the head of the lamp is adjustable, not just up and down but it can move from side to side as well so you get the light exactly where YOU want it to be.  It’s  really sturdy and very easy peasy to put together – 10 seconds literally.  And for taking your pics when the light outside is fading, it’s FAB :)

The light is steady – not a flicker in sight and  how I ever managed without a magnifier before I don't know!!.

You see,  I am short sighted – I probably told you this before. Well actually I am as blind as a bat so I have to have bottle bottom contact lenses pretty much. This is fine when I am driving or watching the telly etc etc but when I need to see close up to craft or even to read, I have major probs.

Either I have to take out the lenses and then I am OK but if I get up from the table I am like Mr Magoo and bump into things and generally cause chaos. Or if I leave them in I don’t see that well.

Not any more though cos this has sorted it all out, and when I am doing me jewellery I can see perfectly – even the tiniest beads. And threading is now a doddle.  And like the light, it’s fully flexible so you can move it wherever you want.

So if you are looking to get one or replace the one you have, you could do a lot worse that getting this one.

Hope that helps chicks and enjoy your day and have a great weekend.

Hugs to all and don’t forget to leave your name with Mr Linky for the blog candy – you have to be in it to win it :)xxx xxx

I almost used one of the new release but then I spotted little Pom Pom and realised that I hadn’t used her for a while so out she came. We really are spoiled for choice with all the lovelies at LOTV aren’t we :)

I coloured her with these Copics -

The papers are all from the Kaiser Lullaby 6.5 x 6.5 paper pack which are available from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 005c

And the swirl-less spell didn't last long peeps. I just HAD to use it again but don’t worry cos I got a new die this morning so before long I'm sure that will be on here as well.

So just in case you missed the last 100 or so posts with it on (slight exaggeration there lol) you can get the Magnolia leaf and swirl from Simon Says Stamp, along with the other old fave the Tilda Lace Die :)

You wouldn’t want to be be one of my fave dies would you – I work the poor beggars half to death!!!!

The pretty gingham ribbon you can just about see is 15mm Berisford Small Check Gingham in Sky Blue (why do I always cover it up when it’s so lovely) and this is available from The Ribbon Girl

Picture 006c copy    Picture 008c copy

A bit of  Wild Orchid Crafts fabulousness here.

I used a 25mm wild rose, some hip rosebuds, 4mm closed rosebuds and some pretty little sweetheart blossoms

And I added a nice shiny metal corner  and some blue self adhesive rhinestones as well :)

Me & My Big Mouth!!!!!

Picture 008c copy

Hi chicksies and hope you are all OK.

Well me and my BIG mouth :(.

When I set the Papertake Weekly challenges some months ago, stoopidly I assumed that as it was July we would be having a summer of sorts.  Mmmmm!!!

Well this is the second time now I’ve assumed this on both occasions the weather hasn’t been too good. So although today our challenge is

Hot Hot Hot

it’s actually  not not not lol!!!

But it isn't all bad cos we are sponsored by those lovely peeps Mary and Andrea  who are the one and only …

ribbon girl logo

And we have one of the new mini kits to give away this week. They may be mini in name but they are crammed with all sorts of goodies …

mini kit fuschia

… and the colours are perfect for this challenge today :)

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did.

I used this very sweet Swiss Pixie – Ice Ceam Birgitta which is available from  Tracy at Dies To Die For – and coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21 (skin), E33, E42, E50 (hair), RV0000, RV00, RV10, R85, YG0000, YG01 (clothes etc)

I forgot to add her rosy cheeks, doh!!

The papers are My Minds Eye – Life Of The Party – and I also used my new Creative Book Pages Die, which Tracy has on offer,  for the base and also for cutting the design paper.

I really like the shapes in this set.

Picture 002c copy

Do you like the little ice cream??

It’s just a bit of brown card shaped into a cone, stuffed with cotton wool and then dipped in glue and then chunky glitter and topped off with a bit of bling:) The self adhesive rhinestones are from Wild Orchid Crafts

Picture 007c copy

This beautimous ribbon is 38mm Grosgrain Stripe ribbon in pink and white and this really does behave itself and ties so nicely. It is of course from The Ribbon Girl, as is the little button.

And finally the sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.

Picture 004c copy      Picture 005c copy

Picture 006c copy

So that’s me done for today and apologies for putting the heeby jeebies on the weather. Next time maybe I should try doing all wet and damp and cold challenges and then maybe it will turn out nice lol!!!!

I’ll see you tomoz and leave you with a bit of a sneakie peek at my card ….

Picture 010c copy copy

… oooerrr, it’s a bit different!!!!

Enjoy your day and hugs to all xxx

Cheeky But Clean & Fresh:)

Picture 014c copy

I know I don’t usually appear here  on a Sunday but  I have had a real job getting this to post  so sorry lovely peeps,  please pretend that it’s still Friday :)o  and Mr Blogger and Mr Live Writer, can you please sort out your probs cos it is a real nightmare for us – grrrrr!!!!!

Over at the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge this week we have a rather fab sketch for you which was done by our Jane and ….

… here it is :)

This week we are sponsored by 7 Kids College Fund who are offering a fabulous $20 voucher for their store!

So what did I do with the sketch?

Picture 007c copy

Here you go - and not a swirl in sight today,  but that probably won't last!!!

I love love LOVE these colours – even though it’s all quite busy it still looks clean which I do like.

I used cheeky Lace Jeans Tilda and coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E33, E42, E50 (hair), B0000, B000, B00, B12, YG0000, YG01. YG03(clothes etc) and I added a dash of polychromos pencil magic here and there as well.

The papers are all from  First Edition Up Up  & Away 6 x 6 paper pack (gorgeous) and the little tag is also from the pack cos there are all sorts of bits and bobs and not just papers in there.

Copics, Tilda and papers are all from Simon Says Stamp

And there is a cheeky bit of one of the  Die-namics Dizzy Doily Duo peeping out and these are available from Dies To Die For

Picture 012c copy

It was still  out so I used the Spellbinders Rose Creations dies again but I used them in a different way to the earlier card and just stencilled then and then layered them up and added some bling.

The centre of the middle flower was made up of single gems. I nicked the idea from our very clever Andrea at Papertake Weekly – I think it looks fab :)

Picture 013c copy

Speaking of Andrea, this gorgeous bow was made from Berisfords 16mm Pencil Stripe ribbon – I used  Meadow Green – and it’s from The Ribbon Girl. The lace is 45mm white Guipure lace and is available from Wild Orchid Crafts

Picture 008c copy      Picture 009c copy

Picture 010c copy

So that’s the card done and I’m off now to finish some bits and bobs, then we are getting ready for a house full of visitors later.

Richard’s mum is moving to Cornwall tomorrow so it’s going to be a bit of a sad day of us and especially for Richard. His brothers and sister all moved away as young adults and he is the only one that stayed up north so it’s going to be a wrench and I feel really sorry for him as he goes to see her at least twice a week and has taken Kyla every Sunday morning since she’s been about 6 months old. We’re sorting out Skype and flights there aren't too bad so he can nip down as often as he can but I’m sure it won’t be the same for him and I know he has been dreading it.

But we will have a nice afternoon and I hope the weather picks up a bit cos it’s chucking it down at the mo (yesterday was glorious and we spent most of it in the garden).

Enjoy your Sunday and I’ll see you in the week.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx
