Pucker Up:)

Picture 007c copy

Hi lovely peeps and hope that you are all OK today.

It’s the first Papertake Weekly of the month and  we have our usual

Anything Goes

theme with an optional extra -  and this month it’s to use metal.

We’re sponsored by the fabulous Lili Of The Valley an there is a voucher up for grabs so if you get a sec, check it all out :)

So this is what I did.

I used one of the new LOTV releases – this one’s called Under The Mistletoe and coloured it with these Copics -

E000, E00, R11 (skin), E42, E50 (hair), B000, C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, G94, G99, R85, RV00, RV000, YG03, YG63 (clothes etc). Then I added some polychromos depth – like you do!!!

Here’s some deets pics - I got a bit carried away with the editing, which isn't great cos I cannot seem to do bright pink very well :(

Other stuff I used is -

Papers - Joyful Hearts by Nitwits

metal corners and self adhesive pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts

And I got the old MS embossed zig zag punch out cos it had been idle for too log, the slacker!!!

So there you go.

I just heard that Harrods (it’s where I go when I run out of foie gars and caviar lol) and some other posh shops have got their Chrizzy displays up already.

What???????

I just checked and apparently there are only 144 days left until Christmas – ooops, sorry if I’ve panicked you now!!! Quick, go and get the turkey – they might sell out!!!!

I feel a bit of a ….

… rant coming on.

Is it me or is this waaaaay too early?

I know us ‘cardie’ peeps get started on our cards now and I’ve been doing Christmas commissions for months but that’s different (isn't it??).

Come December, we’ll all be heartily sick of it and it would be much better if they started say in October – like they used to do – so that there was a nice little run up to the big day. Call me old fashioned but it would get us all in the festive spirit and keep us there without us all getting bored, would it not? I mean, we haven't even had summer yet???  Ok well maybe we have cos we had 4 nice days in a row so that counts I guess.

What next?

Maybe they will just leave all the decs and displays etc up and start the run up in January – only 350 days till Christmas peeps, woohoooo!!!. You didn’t think of that one did you Mr Greedy Shopkeepers!!!

I don’t mean to sound bah humbug but perrrleeeeze!!!

I probably sound like a right old moaning biddy-bag now but it’s not cos I hate Christmas – au contrair, I love it. And I want to keep it special and something to look forward but not months in advance if you get the drift.

It’s a bit like Cadburys selling  crème eggs all year round!!!

Anyway, that’s me moan over and the soapbox is away again.

And breathe …..

Ahhh that’s better – I’ll leave you with a sneekie peekie of tomorrow’s card ….

Mmm,  you see the red and green?

But we have to do them now cos we aint machines and we need time to get them all ready.

Ooohh I’m going before Basil comes back!! See you tomoz and hugs to all xxx

Hi Dawny!!! I sure hope you're doing ok and that your poor little hand is much better!!! So sorry I haven't answered your email yet! LOOOOVE your card! The papers are fabulous and love that image!!! And I completely agree with your rant on the Christmas items up for sale. I can remember the day when the rule was NOTHING went up in the shops before Thanksgiving day. And then over the past twenty some odd years, it's completely changed. And to be honest...the reason it keeps getting earlier and earlier is because people buy the products that are out there for sale. So as long as people buy, they will continue to offer them for sale earlier and earlier. So if you think about it, you can't really blame the shops as it is indeed their bottom line that it helps. So if we really want them to stop, then we all have to stop purchasing. Just my two cents worth, LOL! Love ya girlfriend! Hope you're having a wonderful week!
hugs, Sharon

Ha Ha Just had this conversation with Hubby...It's rediculous, Harrods are talking about NOT taking their Christmas stock off the shelves at all. Apparently they sell alot of Christmas stock to the tourists this time of year!!
I have only just started making cards, and thats very early for me, I usually start in October. Last year I sold loads of cards at Christmas fairs and wish I had done more, so don't mind starting early for that, but other stuff....NO NO NO! Debbiexx
P.S. Love your card, that image is on my wish list for September at Harrogate. Gorgeous colouring too.

Hi Dawny, a stunning card as usual! I agree with you about the shops getting Christmas stuff out too early. They do it with everything now and it really annoys me, especially those big 'Back to School' displays that go up even before I've started my summer holidays! xx

A stunning card, just love it. I agree with your little rant on Christmas. I hope we don't follow with such early decorations, and when they start playing the Christmas carols...which I really love.... in October ...I want to scream. Have a wonderful week.
