Hi peeps and hope you are all OK.
There’s a lorra lorra pics on here to day so I’ll try and keep the waffle short
I’ve got two cards to share today, cos I thought I’d do a challenge over the weekend, but more of that in a sec.
The first card is for this week’s Papertake Weekly and this week we have a sketch for you -
… and here it is.
The awesome DT have weaved their magic and have made some stunners so if you get a sec, nip across and check it out. We’ve a fab prize and a new DT member as well so it’s all happening over there xxx
So this is my take on it.
I kept fairly close to the sketch and I used one of my fave ever Pink Petticoat images – she’s Pudding and she’s a Frilly Millie. I was in two minds whether or not to colour her in on the computer which is just so easy with these images, but the pull of the Copics and Pro Markers was too strong so out they came. I used a mixture of both– no list peeps cos to be honest I forgot to do it – doh!!!
I decided to layer her frock to give it lots of dimension which of course I LOVE :)
And the pretty papers are of course Pink Petticoat and I think the sugar and spice colour theme works well. I wouldn't have thought of using it for Christmas cards before I did this, but you know, I just might now cos I like it a lot (well it’s pink isn't it, so that figures!!)
And I used some Wild Orchid Crafts self adhesive pearls as berries.
Okee dokee so that’s card numero uno.
And this is the second one.
I have been dying to use this sweetie little sausage from the minute she flew through the letter box. Her name is Ava and she is one of the brand new Wild Rose Studio fairies – nip over here and check them all out cos they are oooooooh so sweet.
When I saw the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday, I thought that it would be perfect for her. The challenge is Gently Does It and the CCT crew want to see parchment or vellum on the cards. So I went with velum and I used it to give her wings a little bit of interest.
Ooops a bit too much glare on this one but I hope you can see what I did.
Firstly I covered her wings with a thick-ish layer of glue (I used a glue pen but I squeezed it so that the glue blobbed out and made a pool) then I added some Glamour Dust and left it for a few seconds to seep into he glue before I removed the extra. Then I used a bit of Glossy Accents to stick down the vellum wings. The thick layer of glitter seems to hide the Glossy Accents so it’s practically invisible.
As Eric would say, you can’t see the join!!!
And I found a bit of shrink plastic while I was looking for the velum so I made a little charm with it which I managed to cut off this pic!!!
The blooms are of course from Wild Orchid Crafts and the papers are Nitwits. I used my PATP eyelet lace punch which you can get from the lovely Tracy over at Dies To Die For (as well as a whole heap of other fab stuff) , and I added a bit of bling for good measure.
So that’s my two cards for today peeps.
Did anyone see Corrie last night?
Ohh it was a tear jerker but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. That said, it still made me cry real tears. I loved the fact that ‘our Vera’ came to get him. Now if she could only have taken Molly as well, I would have been a very happy chappy cos she quite frankly gets on me pip and she isn't forgiven for cheating on Tyrone with that total idiot Kev who gets my vote for the most immature and stupid man in the whole of soapland!!! NOT that I think it’s real or owt (oooh, did you notice how I lapsed into Northern speak then???)
And breathe ……………..
Anyway I did say not much waffle so I better go and do some work. Have a great day and I’ll see you tomoz with a bit more cardage.
Hugs to all xxx
