CAS – Even More Than Usual lol!!

Picture 004c copy

Hi peeps and hope you are all OK today – hasn’t it gone cold!!!

Today over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge, our theme is

Thanksgiving /  Thank You

This week, the DT are showcasing Hero Arts products. You don't HAVE to use them to join in but if you have them then why not use them :)

There is a whopper of a voucher up for grabs ….

.. which our lucky winner will get to spend  …

… right here and with so much new stuff being added all the time, our winner will be spoilt for choice for sure.

Picture 001c copy

So I went for ‘Thank You’ and I thought I’d do something different (and that isn't including managing to get the challenge right !!)

No, I went for CAS.

I know I usually err on the CAS side but this is quite plain even for old plain Jane here …. but I rather like it!!

There was no colouring involved – just a bit of paper piecing and I thought that if you had lots of thank you cards to do, hopefully cos you’ve had lots of prezzies to say thank you for (and I hope that the fat lad in the red suit is listening here!!), then this would be ideal.

Ok that’s me done today – a bit of a quickie cos I am prepping for the all day workshop we have at the weekend. Lots to do and not lots of time to do it in as per usual!! Enjoy your night and see you soon if not sooner.

Should Have Gone To Specsavers :( …….. And A Little Warning – Please Read Peeps xxx

Hi peeps and what can  I say!!!!

I set the challenge for this week’s Papertake Weekly and then what did I do? Went and did something completely different, that’s what  – doh!!!

Anyway our challenge this week is

When Is A Card Not A Card? When It’s A  ….

And you are supposed to make a card that can double up as something else eg a gift voucher holder or little wallet etc etc. You get the drift?

We are sponsored by the fabulous Mary & Andrea over at The Ribbon Girl

ribbon girl logo

And our prize this week is ….

ten-pound-gift-voucher

….  a fab voucher for you to spend in the shop.

So this ….

Picture 009c copy

… is what the dope did.

Now even Stevie Wonder would be able to see that this is not a card …. it’s not even remotely like it. I grant you it is MADE of card but that’s about it.

So we’ve extended the challenge so that you can make a little gift as well as if you want to (ohhh my poor teamies, God help them is all I can say!!!)

But isn’t it a lovely design:)
However I cannot take the credit for it cos I'm not that clever (you may have noticed lol!!).

I made it from an amazing  tutorial which was done by the lovely Sarah Bonsell who IS that clever – you can get it (and other fab ones) right here.

Picture 011c copy

Some gorgeous Wild Orchid Crafts bloomage and some beatimous buttons I found in my stash. I cut off the shanks (oohhh that sounds wrong and very painful lol!!) and stuck them on.  The filagree metal corners are also from WOC

And I’ve got a new toy – can you spot it peeps?

It’s  this …

*Martha Stewart BRANCH Craft Punch M230367

…. bad boy here – a Martha Stewart  Branch punch.

Yes I know that it’s been out a while but I only just got around to getting me one and I rather like it actually. I’m not sure it will be over worked like other poor beggars in my stash, but nevertheless it’s very delicate and pretty. You can get them from Simon Says Stamphere’s the link.

Thr papers I used today are from the  Oh The Possibilites Collection at Nitwits

fqb_possibilities

… verrry pretty indeedy

Picture 013c copy

It opens out on both sides but I couldn't fit it all into the light box, so I did half lol!!

Picture 014c copy

Here’s another view.

Right,  I did say in the post title that there was a little warning for you. One of my card club ladies sent this to me in an email and it came from a Police Station and it looks genuine so unfortunately it looks like it’s probably true.

This is what it said -

A woman visited the toilet in John Lewis @ Blue Water and hung her handbag on the back of the toilet door. As she carried on about her business, a hand suddenly appeared over the top of the stall and grabbed her bag clean off the hook!!! She immediately reported the incident to the head of security, who in turn informed the manager of the store.

A couple of days later she had a call from the head of security to say her bag had been found without her purse. So she arranged a convenient time to go and meet the manager to collect her things. On arriving at the John Lewis store at the agreed time, the manager was not expecting her & neither was the head of security. No one from the store had actually called her as the bag had still not been found.

When the lady got home, her house had been burgled with no sign of forced entry. The Police believe the robbers had used her Driving License for the address and her keys to let themselves in!

This is real - it isn't just a scaremongering story. Many will be so shocked at how complex bag snatching crime has become.
Please be extra vigilant ladies AND gents (with your man bags) there are a lot of desperate criminals out there!

Now I don't know about you but I for one always hang my bag on the hanger cos I don't like putting it onto the dirty floor.  I will be careful though from now on for sure.

On that note I’m off to do a bit more so I’ll see you tomoz and have a good evening.

Hugs to all xxx

I Do Like This :)

Picture 006c copy

Hi peeps and hope you are all having a fab day.

It’s the middle of the week and time for a swim across the pond to see what’s been a- happening in the jolly old US of A with the
Simon Says Stamp Challenge girls.

This week we have the most gorgeous piccie for inspiration ….

… I LOVE poppies.
I love them for their colour – I am always drawn to red -  and also for what they have come to symbolise.

And we also have a whopper of a prize – this fab voucher …

…. which  our winner can spend ….

….. right here.

So what did I do?

Picture 001c copy

I used the colours from the pic for inspiration and made another Chrimbly card and I am really quite pleased with how it turned out.

I’ll do the same as I did yesterday and do the shopping list at the end.

Picture 005c copy

More rolled flowers – I seem to be addicted to making them lol!!!
I found the moss green card that I cut the leaves out of in the depths of the craft stash and it has a pearly finish to it. I don’t know where it came from but I quite like it!!

Little Lilac Cutie ….. Plus A Bit Of News :)

Picture 005c copy

Morning lovely peeps and sorry about the extremely unimaginative post title today -  I think I have brain freeze or something!!!

Anyway over at Papertake Weekly we’ve gone all festive and this is our

First Christmas ….

…. challenge of 2011.

We are sponsored this week by the lovely Tracy over at Dies To Die For and there is a voucheroonie up for grabs for one lucky girlie to spend in the shop :)

I don’t often mention it on here cos quite frankly I think we have better things to talk about lol (and I would just die if it looked like I was bragging cos that is SO not me), but I have been doing Christmas cards since May for various commission-ie / DT type stuff so I am kind of Christmas-ed out now. I’m working on Spring and Valentine  things now and it used to seem a bit strange but I suppose I’ve gotten used to it over the years.  There are a few of us that do  mag work on the PTW DT and I bet they’ll all say the same thing!

But the truth is that I haven’t  made a single Chrimbly card for me to send out so I better get me skates on cos Easter will be here before we know it!!!

Picture 002c copy

So I made a start here!!!

I have to confess that I love easel cards but I cannot take a decent pic of one to save me life peeps. This, for me, isn't a bad attempt  but I can never get the angle right. Anyway I went with a lilac theme and I used one of my new Tilda stamps. Why is it when I decide to not buy a Magnolia collection, that it turns out to be amazing!!  The new Christmas stuff is beautiful and has renewed my love fore these images (not that I ever really fell out of love with them)

Anyway on with the card – for a change I’ve put the shopping list on the end in the form of linked pics so clicking on one will take you straight to the right place on the website .

The card base was made using a Craftwork Cards  Scalloped Circle Easel Card

Now the post title mentioned some news to share and  …..

I am going to be  Grandma again – woohoooooo!!!

And bless Emma cos she has evened it out a bit here as this little one is due in May,  which makes a change from the December / January crowd that make up the rest of us. Kyla is beyond excited and wasn't even sure she wanted to stay with us on Saturday night as she was going to ‘miss her baby brother or sister’ (ohh bless – and she keeps kissing Em’s tum as well!!). So I was gobsmacked – still am, cos I never thought I’d have one let alone 2. Although I have a feeling that this may well be that last one ….. but you can never say never I guess.

So on that happy note I’m off to do some more work and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Have a great day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

An Apple A Day ….

Picture 006c copy

Hi there peeps and hope you are all OK today :)

We are heading over the water to see what’s happening over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge but before we get there I just have to say that I hope our friends on the Eastern side of the US are managing to stay warm following the awful weather they’ve had.

Apparently we in the UK and due a cold spell coming in from Siberia so we’ll need the thermals ourselves  before long.

Mind you,  it might not be true – I’m only going on what Tricky Dicky told me. I wanted to put the electric blanket on the bed last night and his Lordship told me that it’s best to ‘hang on cos of the cold snap from Siberia that is coming cos we’ll need it for sure then’. Now I love him dearly but sometimes he is tighter than cramp and isn’t a fan of the blanket cos it isn't that cheap to run, so he might have been winding me up.

But if he isn’t ….. it’s gonna be COLD!!!!

Anyway, our theme this week is

Buttons

This week, the Design Team are showcasing Basic Grey products this week but of course you don't HAVE to use them to join in. But if you have them then why not use them !

As always there is a humungous ….

.. which the winner will get to spend  ….

… here :)

Picture 001c copy

Here’s the card.
I have to say that IRL it is nicer than it look on here :(

I’m doing it a bit different today and will put the shopping list at the end – all the pics are linked so clicking on each one will take you to the right place on the website :)

But I’ll put the list of Copics I used here as usual ..

E000, E00, E11, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E42, E43, E50(hair), E15, E29, E31, E33, E35, E37, E42, E57, G99, Y38, YG0000, YG01, YG03, YG95, YR04, YR07 (the rest)

Phew – I went a bit mad today I think lol!!

Here’s some pics but once again they aint too fab  cos the light is still so bad – there is a bit of a mucky tone to it which isn't good and I’m not that clever with the editing to manage to get rid of it on the photos :(

Picture 005c copy

Picture 002c copy
