It’s Just Like Old Times!!!

Morning lovely peeps and I feel like I’ve gone back in time today – it’ll become clear in a sec!!

It’s that time of the week when we check out all things Papertake Weekly and today we have one of my fave theme -

Spots N Stripes

So this is what I did - my new hAnglar kit arrived last week and well how could I possibly resist using such a little sweetie!!

Can you see why I said I feel like I’ve gone back in time?

It’s because I used Pro Markers to colour the image and our Tracy over at Dies To Die For has a great selection – you can check it all out here peeps.

Newies over here wont realise this but I used to use them al the time before I got Copic’ed lol - if you look at old posts you’ll see.   We run quite a few PM workshops at Purple Butterfly so I do still get to use them and in fact, this is a card from a recent workshop I did and it just happened to fit the bill nicely for today’s theme.

In fact, everything on this card apart from the ribbon which I added after the workshop – is made using white card so every bit of colour on here has been added with a PM and the colours I used are  ..

blush and dusky pink (skin), ivory and sandstone (hair), rose pink, pale pink, baby pink, cool greys 1,2 & 3 (clothes etc). There was much use of the colourless blender as well.

I saw these flowers on my lovely friend  Jacqui’s  blog and she had kindly put a link to here which shows you how they are made. They were coloured with rose pink and pale pink and I added a yummity Wild Orchid Crafts self adhesive pearl to the centre.

Well this is made using the pens as well, as is the card that I used to mat (I just went around the edges).

I just  laid strips of finger lift tape onto some white card and then went over it all with a pale pink PM (you need to be careful that you don’t get colour underneath the tape). Then when you lift off the tape and dip it into the good old Glamour Dust, you have white lines from either side of the tacky bit on the tape and nice even lines of glitter from the tacky bit!!

Simples – and quite pretty I think.

And I used the new MS PATP punch as well.

I love ribbon – you probably noticed – and this has to be one of the nicest, prettiest ribbon I have ever used and I kid you not here.

A Pink Petticoat sentiment which was printed onto Safmat finished it all off – I edged the card with a PM as well.

I was asked what Safmat is (sorry for not getting back to you Carol chick)  and it’s a printable film (made by Lettraset who make the PMs) which you can get at most craft shops and you can print anything you like onto it. You then cut round it close the the edge of the printing and stick it onto your projects – it’s self adhesive. You then  just need to rub it and it becomes invisible apart from what you have printed of course!!

I’m off to start getting stuff packed for our trip to London – we are off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz -  and I don't know who is more excited, Kyla or me cos Michael Crawford is  in it and I have never seen him live before. You watch, it will be my luck that it will be his day off :(

Triple Trouble!!!!

So here’s the old cardy and yet again I seem to have slipped back to the old piggy ways cos it’s quite plain really.

Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing?

I could not resist using one of the new CC Designs images and she is Cupcake Birgitta – what a cute lil Swiss Pixie she is :)

Ooops, I just noticed that I missed adding the spots to the second cake down – doh!! Probably too busy slobbering and wishing they were real cupcakes lol!!!

I gave her the Copics treatment in these fab colours -

E00, R21, R11 (skin) E40, E41, E42, E50 (hair), B0000, B000, B00, B02, RV000, RV10, YG0000, YG01, YG03 (clothes etc)

The papers are once again from the freebie pack of gorgeousness that is Craftwork Cards Vintage Rose – I used 3 different ones.  I did the little tag thing on the ‘puter and cut it out in a random sort of fashion!!

The good old PATP Eyelet Lace Punch was put to work again – and why not!! And I added 3 button and 2 lots of 3 self adhesive pearls which are of course from Wild Orchid Crafts

The white seam binding is from The Ribbon Girl and you can see it here chicksies.

BTW, the border underneath the pink striped paper is actually the negative bit from Lord Timmie’s Scalloped punch – it was too nice to chuck!!!

So that’s me done for today.

We’ve had a rather eventful few days with internet probs, my tenosynovitis making an unwelcome  come back (grrr!!!) and various other minor stuff. But hopefully we are all OK now.

I am taking things very easy re my wrist so I’m keeping the wordage on here down to a minimum for a few days as typing really does make it worse.

Firstly our theme over at the Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge is

A Few Of My Favourite Things

Well, this changes like the wind with me, and at the mo I am into the black and white and red thing. So rather than doing just a card, I thought  I’d do something a bit different. It is still a card but it also doubles up as a little calendar.  If you made up 12 images and bound them at the top, you could make this into a flip over type of calendar if that makes sense.

I used the oh so  fab  cute squares cute squares again so no colouring involved and once again it’s very quick and easy.

The papers are Pink Petticoat – Gingham, which I LOVE (you probably guessed that!!) and I used my fave PATP eyelet lace punch as well which you can get from Tracy over at Dies To Die For.

The gorgeous blooms are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

So that was Thursday.

Now onto Friday and we’re heading over to join the Just Magnolia girlies and as it’s our special monthly challenge, it’s an Anything Goes theme with the option of adding some sparkle.

As my wrist was starting to hurt, I kept the colouring down to a minimum on this. I also have lost the lost of colours I used – doh – but there weren't many and it’s the usual basics plus some RVs and Cs peeps.

The pretty papers are of course Pink Petticoat  and once again I used the PATP eyelet lace punch

I added some bling round the outside edge of the image and in the corners. The sentiment is cut from a Pink Petticoat sentiment ribbon and I just made it into a little tag :)

             

So that’s my catch up complete.
