In The Pink With Lovely Lili :)

Morning sweet peeps and a very happy Sunday to all xx

It's all verry exiting cos over at the Ribbon Girl Blog, there is a brand new challenge and this one is right up my straße cos it combines 2 of my faves ever - The Ribbon Girl and Lili of The Valley.

So a huge welcome to The Lovely Lili Challenge

To kick  things off, out first theme is

Anything Goes

and all you have to do  is make a card or project that include a LOTV image or sentiment stamp or a pre-coloured Artpad image

So what did I do then?

Well .....

.. this bad boy here (or rather this bad girl!!!!).

(btw, if you came over from the challenge then you will see that I have redone the pic because the light was not at all good when I tried to do this yesterday - these are much better).

I decided to use one of  the LOTV Art Pads and this one is Babies (sooo adorable).

The papers are from an Always & Forever 8x8 paper pad and I added a bit of 'Martha Stewart' for good measure.

I also added some fabulous Ribbon Girl goodies which you can see .....

But before I go, I must just say a mahoosive thank you to the lovely ladies who came over to the Lili of The Valley shop yesterday for our Christmas workshop. We had a fabulous day and they didn't want to go home. Neither did I really and I could have stayed there all night crafting!!

We had a fab time and it was a pleasure spending the day with you me darlins xxx

See, they are all in one piece - I was very gentle with them lol!!

The last Christmas workshop is fully booked but we do have a few places left on the Open Day workshop on 30th November (the deets are here) so if you want to nab yourself a place I'd love to see you there :)

Pastel Pom Mark 2 Plus A Blast From The Past 4U :)

So …

.. this is what I did. 

I used very similar stuff to my PTW card on Tuesday as it was all out on my desk and sometimes it’s nice to use the same things in a different way.

This could be a euphemism for ‘can’t be bothered tidying it all away’ of course, but it isn’t in this case chicksies, I promise :)

So today I’ve used the very sweet Pom Pom  - she is still one of my faves – and I coloured her with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11, E21, R00, R20

Hair – E43. E50, E81

The rest – B0000, B000, B00, B02, B12,  C00, G0000, G000, G00, G02

The papers are from Nitwits and they are from the FQB Petal Fresh collection .

I did a similar arrangement as on the other card here and I used 15mm Aqua No 78 Berisford Satin ribbon,  4mm pearl string and an Aqua Small Polka Dot Spotty Button, all from The Ribbon Girl :)

I forgot to say on Tuesday, dope that I am,  that the sentiment is from the LOTV Handwritten Phrases stamp set - awesome VFM as there are 16 in the set so it pretty well covers everything really.

This is a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch from Simon Says Stamp and I added some gems to tart it up a bit!!!

You may have noticed that the pics look slightly different today.

I added a different type of vignetting around the edges. It might not work for all cards but for this one I quite liked it as it kind of added a misty quality to it which suited the papers and colours I thought.

Check me out, getting all arty farty lol!!!

Right, time for another Blast From The Past and this week, I’ve chosen The Verve.

I have to say that I do not like this vid one bit cos I don't like the way he barges into people and not an excuse me please or sorry in sight lol!!!  Clearly I must be missing some subliminal message here but then again I am just a simple girlie.  BUT the music is awesome.  The beginning still gives me shivers and when I play this in the car, I have to turn the volume up LOUD to deaf making levels. It’s the only way to listen to it.

I am really pleased with the way this card turned out but I cannot (nor won’t) take the credit for the idea cos I hate that sort of thing.   I sort of cased it from Liz Marsden and hope she doesn’t mind :)xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Liz is our GD over at Simon Says Stamp and I love her work. Don’t you find that when you join a new team or somebody new joins you, you’re kind of influenced by their style? Maybe it’s just me but that does happen sometimes. I think that subconsciously some of what they do filters through to your  creative thing.

Anyway, stop rambling Pigster and get on with the post!!!

I used a Craftwork Cards Fanciful Card blank as the base  and covered it with paper.

The double bow is made from 15mm Aqua No 78 Berisford Satin ribbon and I added some 4mm pearl string and an Aqua Small Polka Dot Spotty Button, all from The Ribbon Girl :)

I quite like this little arrangement thingie :)

The butterfly is made from an old Woodware punch – I have had this punch for years. I think it may have been one of the very first punches I ever bought.

 

So that’s the old card done and I am on a flyer once again, soz – too much work to do and too little time to do it in :(

A Sneaky Peekie Post Of Two Halves!!!!

    

Hi there lovely peeps and I hope that you are all having a fab weekend.

This is the first of two posts today and I’ve done something a bit different cos I made a wobble card.

It isn't the only thing having a wobble though cos the battery on my camera gave up the ghost as I was doing the pics for the second card which should have been appearing on here at the same time. I am wondering if the fact that two pics have appeared on the camera, both of which were taken by Miss Kyla, has had anything to do with it!!! Possibly the camera may have been left on, who knows!!! Anyway I managed to charge it up enough to get these pics but the other card will appear later on.

So this is the first of my last sneakie peekies of the new release which will be on sale tomorrow – woohooo!!! I wonder if you have picked your faves yet :)

So the image I’ve used today is called

Sunny Days And Smiles

And strangely enough, it IS quite a sunny day here today and camera apart, there will be lots of smiles cos my two little treasures are coming to see me and we are all off for a nice walk in about 10 minutes.

I coloured the cutie lil bear with Copics in these colours -

BV0000, BV000, BV00, BV02, BV13, C00, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, E42, E43, E50, E81, E41, YG0000, YG01, YG00, YG03, YG23

There is also a fair bit of polychromos pencil detail as well.

The papers are all by the fabbydoodles Nitwits 

This is the sentiment that comes with the image – perfect I think.

The ribbons are both from The Ribbon Girl and are from the pretty Lavender Mini Kit, as is the button.

I made the ‘doily’ at the back by going round the edge of a punched circle with the corner bit of one of me  Martha Stewart PATP Deco Fan Shells set from Simon Says Stamp. 

But this technique works with most of the PATP sets.

The image panel ‘wobbles’ but it’s hard to see on the pic.

To do this I just I coiled some wire around a Pritt Stick and glues one end onto the image panel and the other onto the front of the card. Then if you shake the card, the little bear wobbles :)

Right I’ll be off and I’ll see you later on with card no 2 once the old camera is charged up.

… this is what I did.

I really love this colour combi - it always looks striking and even though black is a dark.colour, I think when it's used with plenty of white, it somehow manages to look clean. Sounds weird, but I hope you know what I mean lol!!!

The image is by La-La Land and is called Heart Balloon Marci. I coloured her with these Copics -

Where would I be without  me SAFMAT Self-Adhesive Printing Film!!!

I love using it because you can add text directly to your cards and it's practically invisible.

The punched mat is made from  the Martha Stewart PATP Deco Fan Shells set btw :)

This card is actually for somebody and I need to get in the post tonight, even though it's late already!! I won’t say who it's for but to be honest, if I’d sent it to her on time, she would probably have fainted with the shock and we can’t have that!!!!

So …

.. this is what I did.

For a change, I thought I’d use one of my forgotten Sarah Kay stamps (ohh how could I!!) and this one is called  Gardens  Need Many Helpers.

I coloured the little sweetie with these Copics -

Skin – E000, E00, E11,  R00, R20

No Hair today as it’s hidden under the big old hat :)

The rest – B0000, B000, B00, B05, B45, B93, B95, B97, C2, C4, E25, E29, E33, E50, YG0000, YG00, YG03, YG23

The papers are all from the First Edition Up Up & Away 6 x 6 paper pack.

I used one of my Martha Stewart PATP punch sets to make this little mini doily.

There’s a vid on YouTube which I now cannot find but I’ll have a look and edit this is I do come across it. Basically you just use the corner part of the set  - it works with most of the patterns - to go around the edge of a circle. As long as you line up the edge of the circle with the edge of the punch it will be fine. And if it doesn’t quite meet up when you get to the end, just stick a bow over it or cover it up with something else like I’ve done here.

The flowers were made using a Martha Stewart STAMP & PUNCH FLOWER Set 42-25006  - I just used the punch bit - and a Martha Stewart Frond Leaf punch

 

And there we are all done.

My ‘to do’ list is still there but not quite as long as it was yesterday, wooohooooo. And hopefully by tomorrow it will have even less on it, so even more wooohoossss!!! . Sometimes you just have to block everything out and do one thing at a time otherwise it would do your head in for sure!!!

Aww we had some good news yesterday. One of Richard’s oldest friends had lost his little Jack Russell doggy, Rusty a few weeks ago. He was out walking  in the fields with him at the back of his farm and he literally disappeared. We thought that he may have gone down a rabbit hole and got stuck. But not knowing where he was was driving R’s friend mad and he was so upset because he loves that little dog. We just kept our fingers crossed that he would be found.  And he was :)  He was in North Wales  which is about 35 miles away and we think he has gotten out of the field and into a car - it’s the only explanation really. But he is safe and sound and they have been reunited. All’s well that ends well.

So instead of being Mrs Predicable, I thought I’d go for a colour I very rarely use and it’s BRIGHT for sho, but I really like it!!!

The pic is also a bit grainy so apols there but like I said, it’s been one of them there days!!

I just couldn’t resist using these dies again.

They are  Darla Butterfly and Vivienne Butterfly dies and both are from Simon Says Stamp. Don’t they look nice together especially when you put a darker colour underneath.

Loving it :)

And speaking of loving it, I am loving this fab ribbon. 

It’s 15mm Orange No 57 Small Check Gingham and I added a small spotty button – both are from The Ribbon Girl.

You can buy them singly or they are also part of the orange mini ribbon kit …..

… and it’s chock full of orange yumminess and is great value:)

So there’s the card done – a little later than I expected but we got there in the end.

So why the nightmare?

Well it’s all because of this …..

 

… bad boy here.

It’s my printer – well not my actual printer but a pic of the same one.

I was finishing off printing out some stuff for card club yesterday and smack bang in the middle of it all, it said that I needed to change to cartridge.  So I did, but then it would not calibrate and I had a devil of a job to get it going again. Then the cartridge cradle jammed and I was covered in ink trying to sort it. But I did sort it and off it went again and finished the printing.

Phew!!!!

Off I went to card club and back I came and went to print the paper for my card today (not that I am last minute!!). Well talk about wishy washy. I ran a test page and it said that I needed to change the cartridge.

Whaaaaaaa?

I only did that yesterday you fooly Alec printer!!!!! . But change it again I did and then recalibrated it again for super safety and I cleaned it like I always do. Still it printed all wishy washy. The only way I could get anything out of it was to print on ‘best’ setting which uses shed loads of ink and is so slooooooooooooooooooow.

Now my printer gets some hammer peeps. I do all my commission on it, all my workshops on it and all my photographs on it.  So I would be bankrupt pretty soon if I kept on printing that way. So I have come to the conclusion that I am going to have to get a new one.

I am gutted.

I got this printer in 2002 (it was probably state of the art back then ) and it has been fantastic. It has printed out almost 9000 pages in it’s life and it owes me nowt. It has been reliable up until the last few months when it has had the odd hissy fit / senior moment, as it is probably entitled to do. So I am now on the hunt for something as good as this one has been. I do have a laser printer but the papers look so much better on the old ink jet.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received xxx
