To Say Thank You xxx

Picture 005c copy

Hi peeps and hope all is well with you :)

I was a tad late with my card for this week’s Lili Of The Valley Thursday challenge cos I seem to have been all over the place with one thing and another. But we are here now and our theme this week is

A Thank You

This week we have two sponsors our good friends Andrea and Mary from The Ribbon Girl and  Lili of the Valley

Firstly The Ribbon Girls have donated this …

kit_fuschia

… fabulous  Mini Fuchsia Ribbon Kit which is just so pretty and you can see it and the other mini kits  here

We also have a £10 voucher donated by Lili of the Valley …

GIFT VOUCHER[4]

… and there is so much lovely stuff on the website that our winner is going to be spoiled for choice.

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did.

I used  Milly Flower Power which I LOVE and did the Copics and polychromos thing. I will update the list later as it’s on the table but I cannot find it at the mo!!! But I haven't chucked it out. I THINK!!

The papers are all from Bumbleberry Cottage by Nitwits :)

Picture 004c copy

Ohhh yes, the dynamic duo are back.

The good old Magnolia leaf and swirl and Tilda Lace Die – both from Simon Says Stamp. And that lovely sheer  ribbon is from the wonderful Mary & Andrea at The Ribbon Girl

Picture 002c copy

The gems are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is also from Lili Of The Valley

Picture 003c copy

So on the grounds that I am very late tonight and Corrie has just started, I’ll say toodle pip and I’ll be back in the morning.

Enjoy your evening and hugs to all xxx

All White But Not Alright :(

Picture 004c copy

Hi there peeps and hope you are all OK and nobody has gotten caught up in this awful trouble we are having at the mo.

More in a sec. Firstly we have a lovely challenge for you over at the  Simon Says Stamp Challenge and it is

All White

And looks what’s up for grabs ….

.. fabulous.

Now my camera seems to have let me down a bit cos my card looks like it needs a good wash in Daz bur IRL it looks much cleaner …..

Picture 001c copy

… see what I mean!!! It looks quite grubby, soz :(

Anyway the image is of course Elf Tilda  and she was coloured with Copics and doused with Glamour Dust. The base card was made using Grand Nestabilities but I didn't add any design paper – I just scored the circular piece of card and added some liquid pearls.

Picture 003c copy

I made a rolled flower and added a little pearl and sat it in the middle of a  Magnolia Doily Flower.

Very plain and simple and straightforward :)

I guess you’ve all been reading about the probs we Brits are having at the mo and compared to the poor people of Somalia it isn't even on the same page. But it’s not alright and, like most decent peeps, it has gotten me so mad.

It would not be politically correct to say what I would do to these hood rats if I got my hands on them. In fact, it is possibly because of political correctness that we are in this mess now.  I would come down do hard on them and also their parents and it isn't an excuse to say that they don't know what their kids get up to when they are out of the house.  They are parents and they should know. I don't always know where my kids were but sure as hell I knew they weren't looting or robbing injured people or setting homes and shops on fire. Sorry but if my kids came in with watches and jeans and bottles of booze etc, I would be asking questions!!! Or am I missing the point do you think? Some parents probably encourage their offspring to go put and nick but most don’t. And the police looked like they didn't know what had hit them, because, well they actually didn't. My SIL is a policeman and he does riot duty etc and I’ve seen the gear they have to wear. How they even stand up in it is beyond me – it is so heavy.  I thank God that he and Emma are in Las Vegas at the mo or he would have been in amongst it all.

One of my work associates works in Manchester and they were sent home early yesterday. He lives in the city so he went from the frying pan into the fire. He told me that he went into his local Tesco to get stuff for dinner and just had a feeling that he had to leave so he grabbed a pizza and went home. 10 minutes later that shop was set alight and destroyed.

I hear that tonight will be more of the same and I hope and pray nobody gets injured.  How nobody has been killed in these fires is a miracle and people have lost their homes and all their possessions. I think we need to take off the kid gloves and get tough now cos this cannot carry on. I have no answers cos the causes are so complex but it is a sad state of  affairs for what was a wonderful country.  And it still is a wonderful country and I am proud to be a Brit – just not right now.

Anyway we have her ladyship for a whole week while her mamma is away. She is downstairs playing on the Wii and putting make up on her Grandad (it isn't his usual look I promise!!)  so on that note and before she turns him into Mark / Marcia from Corrie. I better go and see what’s happening.

Have a nice day and hugs to all xxx

Sunny & Bright

Picture 005c copy

Hi chicksies and a very happy Friday :)

The weekend is nearly here so time to nip over and see what’s happening over at the  Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this week it’s our special monthly challenge where

Anything Goes

and as always we have an added extra and this time it’s glitter.

We’re sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp …

609storeheader

…  and there’s a $25 voucher up for grabs :)

Now get the old shades on girls cos we are about to enter the ‘ever so bright’ zone!!!

Picture 001c copy

Wowwza – this card could reduced yer retinas to a quivering wreck lol!!

But it’s nice and cheerful I guess.

I used a hAnglar & stAnglar image and gave it the Copics treatment with these pens -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E31, E33, E40, E42, E50 (hair), E37, E40, E50, Y16, Y17, YR0000, YR38, YR68 (clothes etc).

And those delish papers are from Tracy at Dies To Die For and they are Memory Box 8 x 11s – I used Mango.

Picture 003c copy

Ohhh it’s back – yes the Magnolia leaf and swirl die is back on my desk again, as is the Tilda Lace Die. Well that never really gets put away.

I also used the wonky rectangles nesties which are also available from Tracy.

Here’s some deets ….

Picture 006c copy     Picture 007c

Picture 007c

You might just be able to see the line of glitter around the edges of the white rectangle if you peer closely.

The self adhesive pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is Pink Petticoat printed onto Safmat.

How’s your eyeballs doing peeps????

Picture 002c copy

Picture 004c copy

Ok that’s it for today.

I’m off to the camping shop to get a few more bits and bobs then it’s time to collect her ladyship from holiday club. She has the life of Reilly that kid, she really does. She has been out and about every day this week  doing various fab things and tomorrow she is going horse riding again – it’s her second lesson and she did really well last week, bless her.  Then I’m planning on a crafty Sunday – lots of card etc to make – but it never pans out that way so we’ll have to see how it goes.

Whatever you are doing, have a good one and see you soon if not sooner.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Rosie Toes

Picture 007c copy

Hi lovely peeps and hope you are all ok :)

It’s a miserable Thursday here in not so sunny Chester but hopefully the lovely cards on show over at the Lili Of The Valley Thursday challenge will make us all smile!!

And something else that will make one lucky girlie definitely smile is this …

image

… so if you get a sec, nip over and have a butchers :)

Out theme this week is

Roses

so all you have to do is to include them in your project and it’s as simple as that!!

Picture 002c copy

This is what I did – I went for just a single rose.

I used Milly Me & My Dog which you can see here and I coloured them with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21 (skin), E33, E42, E50 (hair), B0000, B000, B00, B12,  E33, E35, E50, YG0000, YG01, YG03,(clothes etc).

I also used a fair old bit of polychromos to give it a bit of zing. It’s a fairly plain and simple card re the layout and embellies so I wanted to the colours to really stand out and draw the eye in.

Picture 006c copy

The bow is made from 38mm organza spotty ribbon  which is from The Ribbon Girl and I added a  20mm open rose and some long stem stamens which you can get from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sparkly gems are also WOC.

The papers I used are both from the new FQB From The Sea collection over at Nitwits and there’s a cheeky bit of lace made with the good old   Tilda Lace Die which you can get from Simon Says Stamp

Picture 003c copy

Picture 004c copy

So that’s me done for today and I’ll be back tomorrow with the last card of the week and I will warn you – you may need your shades again cos this bad boy is tangfastically zingsome ( I made those words up lol!!)

Here, have a sneakie peekie …..

Picture 001c copy copy

… sunny and bright is an understatement, so see you and your Foster Grants back here tomoz.

We are off to TGI Fridays tonight for a quick bit of din dins and maybe a cocktail or two??? It’s Kyla’s favourite eaterie at the mo, mainly I suspect because they do a mean wriggly worm ice cream pud (full of E numbers and sugar which is probably why she likes it!!!) and they also make her a little non alcoholic cocktail with the umbrellas and all the trimmings which is very Del Boy,  but she loves it!!!! And the barman always winks at her which she pretends not to like but secretly does I think!!

Enjoy your day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

It’s A Holly Holly-Day

Picture 005c copy

Morning peeps and hope all is well with you today :)

It’s that time of the week when we nip over to the US of A and see what’s happening with the good people at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and this week it’s all about

Christmas In August

and there is a whopping ….

to spend right here ….

Now I know I moaned about My Harrods etc yesterday but like I said it’s different for us poor souls (and poor being the operative word espesh when we can’t say no to new stash!!) who make cards. We need to start early cos heaven forbid that we would have to go and BUY them!! If you send people bought cards they see it a a bit of a slight when you make them yourself don’t they :(

Picture 002c copy

Anyhoos this is what I did.

I used this cute Penny Black stamp – it’s called A Thorny Affair and you can see it here. I coloured it with the old Copics but no list today hunny-pies cos the dope chucked it out trying to have a tidy up!!!

The base card was made using  these Spellbinders Grand Nesties …

*LF-114 Spellbinders GRAND CIRCLES Nestabilities Calibur Dies    *LF-124 Spellbinders GRAND SCALLOPED CIRCLES Nestabilities Calibur Dies

… and if you click on the pics they will take you to the right place in the Simon Says Stamp Store

Picture 004c copy

I used an old Sissix holly die and a hole punch to make the berries (or cherries as Kyla calls them!!)  but you could easily draw a couple of leaves if you don’t have the die.

Picture 003c copy

I really like this card and it’s so quick and easy which is just the ticket if you have a mountain of Christmas cards to make.

So that’s me done for today – another shortie as work is coming out of me ears!!! Don’t forget to check it all out if you get a sec and also we have our dinks challenge which you can read about here if you missed it.

So I’ll see you tomoz with something fairy-ish!!! No sneakie peekie cos it’s still not quite done.

Enjoy your day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Pucker Up:)

Picture 007c copy

Hi lovely peeps and hope that you are all OK today.

It’s the first Papertake Weekly of the month and  we have our usual

Anything Goes

theme with an optional extra -  and this month it’s to use metal.

We’re sponsored by the fabulous Lili Of The Valley an there is a voucher up for grabs so if you get a sec, check it all out :)

Picture 001c copy

So this is what I did.

I used one of the new LOTV releases – this one’s called Under The Mistletoe and coloured it with these Copics -

E000, E00, R11 (skin), E42, E50 (hair), B000, C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, G94, G99, R85, RV00, RV000, YG03, YG63 (clothes etc). Then I added some polychromos depth – like you do!!!

Here’s some deets pics - I got a bit carried away with the editing, which isn't great cos I cannot seem to do bright pink very well :(

Picture 005c copy          Picture 006c

Picture 010c copy             Picture 008c copy

Other stuff I used is -

Papers - Joyful Hearts by Nitwits

metal corners and self adhesive pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts

And I got the old MS embossed zig zag punch out cos it had been idle for too log, the slacker!!!

Picture 002c copy

Picture 003c copy

So there you go.

I just heard that Harrods (it’s where I go when I run out of foie gars and caviar lol) and some other posh shops have got their Chrizzy displays up already.

What???????

I just checked and apparently there are only 144 days left until Christmas – ooops, sorry if I’ve panicked you now!!! Quick, go and get the turkey – they might sell out!!!!

I feel a bit of a ….

untitled

… rant coming on.

Is it me or is this waaaaay too early?

I know us ‘cardie’ peeps get started on our cards now and I’ve been doing Christmas commissions for months but that’s different (isn't it??).

Come December, we’ll all be heartily sick of it and it would be much better if they started say in October – like they used to do – so that there was a nice little run up to the big day. Call me old fashioned but it would get us all in the festive spirit and keep us there without us all getting bored, would it not? I mean, we haven't even had summer yet???  Ok well maybe we have cos we had 4 nice days in a row so that counts I guess.

What next?

Maybe they will just leave all the decs and displays etc up and start the run up in January – only 350 days till Christmas peeps, woohoooo!!!. You didn’t think of that one did you Mr Greedy Shopkeepers!!!

I don’t mean to sound bah humbug but perrrleeeeze!!!

I probably sound like a right old moaning biddy-bag now but it’s not cos I hate Christmas – au contrair, I love it. And I want to keep it special and something to look forward but not months in advance if you get the drift.

It’s a bit like Cadburys selling  crème eggs all year round!!!

Anyway, that’s me moan over and the soapbox is away again.

And breathe …..

Ahhh that’s better – I’ll leave you with a sneekie peekie of tomorrow’s card ….

Picture 002c copysp copy

Mmm,  you see the red and green?

But we have to do them now cos we aint machines and we need time to get them all ready.

Ooohh I’m going before Basil comes back!! See you tomoz and hugs to all xxx
