A Post Of 2 Halves – And A Bit Of A Tutorial For You xxx

Picture 012c copy

Morning peeps and Happy Friday :)

Well we have a lot to get through here today so I’ll do me best to keep the waffle to a minimum and let the pics do the talking!!!

It’s that time of the week when we mosey over to the Just Magnolia challenge to see what’s happening and this week our theme is

White + One

So we want to see white plus one more colour of your choice for your papers and embellies and I’ve just realised as I am typing this that I have punched some leaves out of green card – doh!!!!!!!

Picture 007c copy

Anyway, that apart, here is my card.

I did a bit of masking and sat Tilda on a bauble and coloured it all with Copics and Pro Markers. This was the other card I was talking about yesterday ie when I said that I’d mixed up the pens so I didn’t have a list of colours but I used the usual stuff for hair and skin and the pinks are from the RV Copics range and the greys are PM warm greys if that helps!!!

I used 2 papers, both Pink Petticoat. One is Gingham and the other is Doodle Swirls which I thought matched the   swirls on the bauble really nicely.

The colour I used was Pretty Pink – my fave by a mile cos I love the soft chalky feel it has.

Picture 013c

I edged the image panel with some paper lace – I used the  Magnolia Doo Hickey Tilda Lace die which you can get from Dies To Die For and *****confession alert**** made a bit of a pigs ear (is that BAD lol???)  of it.  Hence the covered up 4 corners.

But if you are going to cover something up, you might as well do it with something pretty, so I used some fab Wild Orchid Crafts blooms and the aforementioned errant holly leaves!!!!

Picture 011c

OK so that is part 1 of this post :)

……………………………………………………………..

And now for part 2 :)

pptag1

All this week, the Pink Petticoat Creative Team have been sharing our ideas for a Pretty Christmas and haven't they been gorgeous peeps. I have been blown away by the beautiful work – a real sight for sore eyes for sure.

ppcard

So this is what I did.

Now you probably would have thought that I’d have gone for a pink colour palette, and I very nearly did, BUT at the last minute I decided to move away from the obvious/predictable  and go for something a bit different.

So I used red.

It’s so striking when used with white and looks really pretty I think. And this card is so easy to make because the papers and image do the work, they really do.

The papers are from the Fairy Lights collection and the oh so sweet image is one of the new Tiny Christmas Treasures which I  coloured with Copics and highlighted with Glamour Dust.  They are approximately 1” high and perfect for using with punches and nesties etc and there are 24 different designs to choose from :)

ppcard1

A couple of MS Doily punched borders, a bit of ribbon and some bling and it was done.

Now a bit of a tut for you.

One thing that I’ll often do when sending cards is to line my envelopes, mainly because I hate putting the effort into making a card and getting it to look nice and then sticking it into a plain envelope :(

Boo, hisss!!

So this is a great way to bring the card and envelope together and I have got this down to a fine art now and can sort the envelope out in no time at all. So I thought I’d share it with you today. I’ve done this at card classes and workshops and it really is fool proof – it has to be or how else would I be able to do it!!!

So, excusing the not so good pics (naughty light again!!), here we go -

I hope you found that useful peeps :)

ppcardenv

I think they look really nice together, and if you are a total matching freak like me, ……

ppprez

… why not print out your paper, again don’t use your good stuff, and wrap your prezzies.

If you need a large sheet, just join enough  sheets together until you have the right size.

pptag

Again I used another one of the Tiny Christmas Treasures to make the little tag.

Phew, it’s been a long post today so hugest of thanks for sticking with it if you’ve lasted this far lol!!!

Have a great day and see you tomorrow where there is something very special happening on the Wild Rose Studio front – there might even be a little giveaway …………….. ohhhh shhhhhhh!!!!

See you then and hugs to all xxx

Picture 014c copy

Well if you were commenter No 34 …..

Doc1

little-ballerina

… is yours :)

Woohooo, ping me a quick e-mail sweetie and I’ll arrange for her to be sent to you and congrats on your win xxxx

A HUGE thank you to everyone who took part in the blog hop – I wish we could give you all a prize but I think LOTV would be bankrupt if we did, as we had a fabulous response. It just goes to show that you love these images as much as we do.

And I have another little sweetie to share with you today cos it’s time for another Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge. This week  our challenge is

Glitter & Glitz

Well say no more cos I do love a bit of bling and judging by the fantastic DT cards I am not alone, so if you get a sec, nip over and have a little mooch peeps. :)

Picture 006c copy

So this is my lilac extravaganza lolxx

I coloured Rosie With cake with Copics and I have a confession here. I did another card at the same time and I muddled all the pens up so I couldn’t tell you exactly which ones I used but I THINK they were  ..

Skin: E00, E21, R11, R20

Hair: E42, E50

Clothes:  BV0000, BV000, RV0000, RV10

What I can tell you is that you can get oodles of Copics from Dies To Die For :)

I can also tell you that I Glamour Dusted her skirt and then added some Diamond Stickles on top as well cos I wanted it to look like net.

It sort of does :)

Picture 015c

A profusion (!!!!) of pink and lilac here  in these blooms which of course are all from Wild Orchid Crafts as are those gorgeous pearl sprays

Picture 016c

These rather delish papers are all from the oh so gorgeous  Pink Petticoat and I used Gingham, Stripes and Pretty Little Hearts and the colour I used is called ‘lovely’ - I think it really is :)

The pretty white borders are from Craftwork Cards and you can see them right here

Finally, I added a few WOC  self adhesive pearls to finish it all off.

Picture 003c copy                      Picture 004c copy

Picture 005c copy

So that’s me done for today.

Before I go I must share this with you. Kyla has been singing us a new song that she has learnt. You may be familiar with it but possible not her version and if I knew how to record her singing it and put it on here, I would.

It’s called Lucy Locket – you know the one?

Well her version goes like this …  Lucy Locket lost her pocket, Fishy Cocker found it ……

I don't know what she sings for the rest of it because I am smirking beyond belief at that point and struggling not to LOL so I miss the last 2 lines.

Oh bless!!!

I’ll leave you with a sneak peek for tomoz and I’ll see you back here bright and early for something Tilda-ish.

 card copy

So this is what I did.

I had a bit of an indulgence here cos I used not one but 2 of me new H&S stamps – how sweet are they :)    And I coloured them with Copics in these colours –

Skin: E00, E21, R11, R20

Hair: E42, E50

Clothes: E08, E31, E35, E50, Y28, YR07, YR16, YR38

And of course these are available from Tracy at Dies To Die For :)

Picture 003bloom

The blooms are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon was in the bottom of my ribbon stash – but what a fab colour!!!

I used a mixture of papers today – the beige one is Nitwits and the gorgeous spotty one is Pink Petticoat, as is the  sentiment ribbon.

Picture 004c copy                  Picture 005c copy

I went a bit mad with the gems – they were left over from Halloween :)

Picture 006c copy

So that’s me card folks.

I’m off to do some work but I’ll see you tomorrow with my last GDT card for the  Simon Says Challenge.

Have a fab day and hugs to all xxx

The Sweetest Little Helpers :)

Picture 003c

Aren’t they just :)

Hi peeps and I hope that you are all OK and having a nice weekend.

Over at Pink Petticoat this week we have lots and ideas for you for Christmas and the card I’m sharing today is what I did.

I totally and utterly LOVE this image and it’s perfect for a really quick and easy Christmas card - and it is so easy to colour.

Picture 002c copy

The image is a brand new digi stamp called Little Helpers - you can find it right here - and I coloured it with Copics and added some glitter detail. I also added a few blingy bits and a glittery sentiment which is from the Tiny Christmas Sentiments download.

The really pretty paper is from the Tis The Season Collection and I think this is one of the most versatile of all the Christmas collections that are available to buy anywhere because there are 4 different colour palettes included so there is something for everyone here. There are images included in this download as well as more accessory papers. And all this for £9.99 - you can pay that for one stamp!!.

I used the harlequin paper from the Contemporary Christmas section of the download.

Picture 004c copy                      Picture 006c

Picture 007c copy

A punched border and a bit of nice ribbon finishes off the card.

If  you get a sec peeps, nip over and check it all out, and keep watching cos over the next few weeks there’s going to be loads of ideas and inspiration for you.

So that’s my card for today. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you soon if not sooner.

Hugs to all xxx

A Little Lilac :)

im copy

Morning lovely peeps and hope you are all OK.

It’s Friday – woohoo, the best day of the week – and as always, it’s time to head over to see what' the Just Magnolia girls are up to.

This week, our lovely Donalda has done us a fabulous sketch ….

sketch

… and here it is.

Picture 022c copy

So this is my interpretation and don't forget to check out what the other girlies have done, all gorgeous of course,  if you get a sec.

I coloured Miss Tilda with Copics in these colours -

Skin: E00, E21, R11, R20

Hair: E42, E50

Clothes: BV0000,  BV00, BV02, BV13, RV0000, RV10

and I added a fair old bit of sparkle courtesy of a good dollop of Glamour Dust :)

Well, it’s nearly Christmas lol!!!!

blooms

The papers I used are Nitwits and the old PATP eyelet lace punch was overworked yet again, poor thing!!!  Tracy at Dies To Die For has these so if you haven’t got one and want one, she is the very chap to sort you out  :)

The gorgeous blooms were all from the gorgeous Siri and Paul at Wild Orchid Crafts ….

det

… as were the self adhesive pearls, pins, ribbon and lace.

I just did a line of running stitches along the top of the lace and then gathered it together to form a circle to make the  ‘flower’.

Easy peasy and ooooh so pretty I think.

Picture 018c copy                               Picture 020c copy

Picture 017c copy

So that’s the card done and I have a bit of an update for you.

I had a few peeps asking me where I got the gorge little pearl stars that I used on my card yesterday …..

paper

… these are they.

Well the good news is that they are now available from Wild Orchid Crafts and you can get them right here peeps. they are awesome value as well at only £1.20 for 50 of the little blighters.

So on that starry note, I am off to the merry world of finance again (yaawwwwwwwwwwwn!!!) and then it’s time to collect my little treasure from school for her overnight stay with us. We haven’t decided what to do yet but she keeps asking if we can have another girlie night where we do our nails and have a ‘face pack’ etc etc. Well we do this when Granddad is working late and there is just the two of us, but I don’t think she has grasped the concept really cos she asked me last week if we could have a girlie night with Granddad this week.

Poor Richard, I can see him being covered in nail varnish and cream before the day is done.

Have a great day and hugs to all and if you haven’t checked out my blog candy from yesterday,  you can see it all here xxx

Bloggity Hop Hop + A Bit Of Candy :)

im copy

Hi there peeps and hope you are all well.

It’s Thursday which means that it’s time for another Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge and have we got something nice for you today :)

This week the Lili of the Valley Challenge  is being combined with a blog hop to celebrate the release of the Tea and Chat, Party Girls and Sentiments collections.  All the gen and info about the challenge and blog hop can be found over at the main challenge and if you’ve arrived at chez piggy from the lovely Caz’s blog, then you are in the right place. If you’ve not arrived from there then hop over to the Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog to begin cos you don’t want to miss out :).

So this week we have a nice theme for you because

Anything Goes

So it’s up to you what you do – just use your fave  image and have fun!!

Picture 012c copy1

And this is what I did.

This sweet little ballerina was coloured with Copics (I gave the PMs a day off cos I’ve worked the poor beggars a fair bit lately and they are just not used to it after their long rest lol!!).

I even did a list AND didn't chuck it away so these are the colours I used -

Skin: E00, E21, R11, R20

Hair: E42, E50

Clothes: BV0000, BV00, BV02, BV13, RV0000, RV10

and of course there’s a bit of Glamour Dust and Diamond Stickles on there as well :)

paper

The circle frame was made by combining  these Nesties …………..

*SPECIAL OFFER* Nestabilities - Large Classic Inverted Scalloped Circles                               *BACK IN STOCK* Nestabilities - Beaded Circles

… and basically I just put a  Large Classic Inverted Scalloped Circle which had the image stamped onto it,  over the top of a Beaded Circle.

Simples!!!

It gives you another look which I really like.

Then I stuck a pearl star on each ‘circle’ to finish off.

sentiment

Can you think of a nicer sentiment to send somebody than this peeps. I just love it and of course it’s from one of the new LOTV circle sentiments sets .

The blooms are of course from the fantastic Wild Orchid Crafts

The pretty paper I used is of course  Pink Petticoat’s gorgeous Gingham and there’s a double helping of the ever so fab  MS Doily punch as well.

The doily punch, nesties and Copics are all available from Tracy at Dies To Die For

Picture 014c copy                      Picture 015c copy

Picture 016c copy

So that’s my card peeps and now, how would you like to win this little sweetie …?

little-ballerina

Yes it’s the stamp I used  - well not the same one natch cos you’ll get a brand spanking new one lol.

And there is one up for grabs :)

And all you have to do is to leave me a comment below and if Mr Random Thing  chooses you next Thursday then your very own little prima ballerina will be pirouetting her way to you  :)

OK so that’s it for me and it’s time for the next stage of the blog hop so the next place to go is to the ultra talented and very lovely Domi’s blog and see what goodies  are waiting for you there.

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop, good luck and have a great day.

Thanks ever so for stopping by and hugs to all xxx
