…. my first proper Copics attempt?
I don’t think it’s perfect by a long shot but it isn’t too bad, all things considered, and I just feel that me and these babies are gonna get on at some point. It isn’t a totally PM free zone because there is some ivory PM on there – does anybody know the Copic equivalent please chicksters cos I can’t seem to find it.
So one more day to go before the NEC ( wooohoooooo) but first things first cos it’s time for another Just Magnolia challenge. Ohh just think of all those Tildas sitting patiently in their baskets in sunny Brum just waiting or us all to descend lol xxx
I loved this image from the moment I clapped eyes on it because it reminds me so much of my Grandma and Granddad's wedding pic. Her dress was just like that but she wore a hat not a veil – well it was the roaring 20s after all!!!
Anyway, I digress yet again, naughty piggy, and our challenge this week is fab sketch by our Jane …
And I thought I’d do something a little bit different…..
…so I did a recess card as I thought the sketch was absolutely perfect for it. You can maybe just about see that the image is set back in a recess and the card actually looks like a picture frame.
So for the first time (but not the last lol xxx ) I am going to say that it was coloured with Copics and I added a bit of Diamond Stickles to various bits of Tilda’s frock and veil. The beautiful paper is from Tracy at Dies To Die For and it’s one of the new Bella Bella stacks which you can see here
These gorgeous blooms are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I added a few diamond things – sorry I don't have a clue what they are called – which I got from the local floristry warehouse
I raided the old jewellery box and found these charms. I don't know where they came from but they are really pretty and I added a bit of tulle, which I got from Crafts U Love, a curly bit of twine and a little ivory rose.
You can maybe see the recess a bit better here on the arty farty angle pic.
And that’s me card all done. If you get a sec, nip across and check out the awesome JM girlies work over at blog HQ. I’ll be seeing one or 2 of them tomorrow - woohhoo Bev and Jacqui - and I cannot wait. I am also meeting up with my cyber twin Mrs Kath and also En and hopefully loads of other fab bloglies. ‘Twill be fabulous.
Also today the sweetness and light of my life that is Kyla is back from her week at Centre Parcs today and it goes without saying that we’ve missed her loads. It will be lovely to see her little face again. So I’d better get on and get some work done!!
Have a great time if you are going to the NEC ( and also if you’re not!!) and see you Sunday if not before!!
Huggiest of hugs xxx

What a gorgeous card, Dawny! I love the frame.
ReplyDeleteFor ivory, you could use:
E30 + E0000 (very pale and soft)
E51 + E50 + E0000 (still pale, but has a bit more contrast/depth as well as a more peachy tint to it)
E51 + E50 + W00 (the W00 tones down the peachy-ness a bit)
Great card!
ReplyDeleteYour coloring isn't that bad! ;0) You should see my first attempts using my Copics; they look like a kid got hold of my markers!
