Its funny what a couple of pens can do to a girl.
I treated meself recently to a set of Copics and the bad boys, and Richard are sulking. The PMs are sulking cos they feel abandoned and R is sulking cos he saw the price (don't feel too sorry for him though cos it was out of my birthday dosh lol xxx). he just doesn't get why I would want to blow it on some colouring pens and I'm sure he isn't the only one out there like that.
Me being me, I couldn’t get 1 or 2, oh no, I had to have a set and when they arrived I nearly peed with excitement when I saw them – sad I know :) But the first time I tried them out, I very nearly threw them through the window.
Could I get my colouring right?
Not a chance.
BUT after a few goes, I am starting to get the hang of them but I am still a bit feared of them to be honest.
Do I prefer them to the bad boys?
Mmm, not sure yet but who says I can’t use both.
So I have and I now have a new dynamic duo which his all good cos you cannot have too many I don't think :)
So this is the first airing and just in time for another Papertake Weekly, which is one of me sketches ….
It does look a bit different to the usual colouring but I am still learning so please bear with me peeps– hopefully I will; crack it some day soon.
I did a bit of masking with 3 of the new CC Designs images from the new Spring kit which Tracy now has in stock over at Dies To Die For (she also has a fab range of Copics as well as PMs) and the papers are the Wild Rose Studio paper stacks which Tracy also stocks
The flowers were all punched (well, they shouldn’t have laughed at my crap colouring lolxx) and I added a little bit of Wild Orchid Crafts magic to them here ….
… and here as well.
Spot the MME papers peeps. Well, waste not want not as they say.
And that’s me card done.
Do nip over and check out the other girlies’ fabulous creations if you get a sec cos they are fab as always. And you might see one or 2 changes happening on the main challenge blog as well – if I can get my 3 remaining brain cells into gear.
Have a great week and see you soon.
Mahoosive hugs xxxx
Aaaaaw, this is gorgeous Pigster!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Copics - I can't stand the freakin' things... ;D
Hugs x
Fab card Dawny and interesting to read your copic experiences. I've just got a few Copics and have found them harder to blend than the ProMarkers and also they don't seem to cover as well without really soaking the cardstock. I like the brush tips though, just wish the ProMarkers had the 3 Tria tips and had an easier numbering system to figure out!

Oh Dawny you make me laugh sweetie!!!! Your colouring is gorgeous!!! Ooooh and tell your bad boys there is no need to sulk!! As promarkers and copics are both alcohol ink you can use them TOGETHER :) they can become the best of friends as you use them side by side!! I know the thought of blending a promarker with a copic seems just plain strange but it works!! x x
ReplyDeleteAw, Dawny, I love what you've done with these iamges! You're coloring is great! I have such a hard time with light colors, practice makes perfect, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketch too! Hubs is coming home early today - which means extra extra scrappy time for me, hee hee!

Fabulous card Dawny, love the colour combo, the image is coloured beautifully no matter which pens you used, it's lovely. Men don't understand the need for crafty bits do they? and yet they can spend a packet on some bit for the car!!!! and it was going perfectly well without it!! LOL

Lovely card as always...How exciting to hear that you've invested in some Copics too!! I felt a bit guilty buying Copics after having PMs too, but told myself it was an important piece of craft research ;-) And I LOVE them loads, but you know this already so I'll stop babbling here ;-) Dulcie xx
ReplyDeleteThat's fabulous and amazingly good for a beginner! I love my copics!
ReplyDeleteCongrats for moving to the dark side! The Copics are a dream compared to the dreaded bad boys. Just couldn't get them to work for me. Just grab some Rymans coated card, some memento tuxedo black and you'll be away! ~x~
