Morning sweet peeps and hope you are all OK today xxx
Dozy here has struck again because I forgot to sent over to Mary my card for this month's Ribbon Girl card challenge which started yesterday. Thursday and Friday were a bit in the mad side because I was getting everything prepared for the Lili of The Valley Open day on Saturday (more later) and there was a prob with some card that should have been delivered and had the wrong addy on it - doh!!!!.
Anyway I sorted it on the end but it put me in a fluster and I clean forgot to send Mary the card so hugest of apols there xxx
So this month's challenge is simply to add
Ribbon or Twine
so it's super easy :)
There are 2 prizes up for grabs -
The first is a stamp of your choice from Lili of the Valley
and the second is a £10 voucher towards a spending spree in the Ribbon Girl store
wooohooooo :)
So ....
... this is what I did.
This is the image we used for the colouring workshop and it's Cake Glorious Cake .
I coloured her with the following Pro Markers -
Skin - Blush, Oatmeal, Apricot
Hair - Champagne Flexmarker, Burnt Sienna, Caramel
The rest - Rose Pink, Blossom, Pale Blossom Flexmarker, Duck Egg, Cool Aqua, Soft Aqua Flexmarker
The papers are from the Bonnets & Bowties 8x8 paper pack and the sentiment is from Set 18 Greetings Postmarks
I know we can make our own rolled roses but these are so delicate and the paper used here is gorgeous - I don't think I could ever make them like this. These are of course Kort & Godt from The Ribbon Girl and I used Aqua.
There are lots of new colours in so if you get a sec nip over and have a mooch. They are brilliant to keep in your stash and they don't break the bank either.
The die I used is a Memory Box Lavish Branch die - this is so versatile and I am using it to death at the mo.
There's only one thing better than a bit of vintage seam binding and that's 2 bits of vintage seam binding!!!
These bows here are made using Royal Peacock and Siam Pink, both from The Ribbon Girl - they go so well with these papers.
So that's the card done and I used this as the example for the colouring workshop at the weekend.
Both workshops were chock full and went really well and thank you to all of the lovely ladies that came for making it so enjoyable. The whole day was fabulous and it was nice to see so many people there, including Annabel who is the LOTV artist. I was thrilled to met her and felt a bit star struck to be honest!!! She is so talented but really down to earth - just my kind of girl!!
These open days are always a joy and I know that everyone work so hard to make them the success that they always are, including Laila's sweet Mum and Aunty, and Erica and Anne's Mums as well. If you have never been, honestly peeps treat yourselves and come along to the next one because everybody I spoke to said how much they enjoyed it and they could not believe how much inspiration there was in the shop, which looked ever more pretty if that's possible.
Here's to another 9 years :)
Right that's me done for today and I'll see you tomorrow with a bit more cardage.
Have the fabbiest of days and huggiest of hugs to all xxx
fabulous card as always Dawny! I keep promising myself I will make the trip to the LOTV shop - just have a feeling that the plastic would take a real battering lol!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous as always Dawny :) I love that paper pack, think I'm going to have to re-buy it soon lol, I use it on pretty much every girl card I make haha :D
ReplyDeleteI really want to go to the LOTV shop - and might treat myself to a trip over for my birthday haha, it's a bit of a trek from Ireland though so I'll have to save a lot so I can afford both the flights AND all the goodies that I no doubt would not be able to leave behind :P

What a gorgeous card Dawny. I would have so loved to have joined you but for me it is at least a 4 1/2 hr journey each way in the car or by train is SO expensive. My daughter was at med school years ago in Leeds...such a shame it was before the store started ;0)Never mind the virtual party was fun xx
