Morning peeps and I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend :)
It’s time for another challenge with the Anyone For Anya girls and this week it’s
Hot Hot hot
so zingy and bright colours or summer themes are what we want to see (or both together if you are feeling adventurous).
I sort of went for both. There’s flowers and a butterfly and the hot pink is fairly zingy :). The images Ii used are Ladybug Nora and the mushroom. These are both new CC Designs images and are available from Tracy at Dies To Die For. You can see them here peeps :)
I coloured them with Copics and use the following colours -
C1, C5, C7, E0000, E00, E21, E50, E51, R11, R85, RV34, YG0000, YG03, YG06
The gorgeous papers are also from Tracy and they are GCD Cloisonne. What you can’t tell from the pic is how nice they feel. They are a fabulous texture and have a lovely linen feel to them.
The butterfly is one of the new Marianne Designs Creatables that Tracy has in stock and this is Butterfly Style 3. You can use these with your Cuttlebug or Big Shot – aren’t they pretty and a great size as well?
The flower is of course from the wonderful Wild Orchid Crafts – have you seen the new website btw?
So that’s me card and now for a bit of a woohooo!!!
Some of you already know this but I’ve been designing for the last few months for Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine – I STILL cannot believe it peeps!!! Anyhoos, I haven’t put any cards on the old blog that I’ve done for the mag up till now, but it occurred to me last week (you know how quickly I catch on lol xxx) that not everyone buys it. So I thought I’d share some of the cards with you from time to time.
This month, which is now out, I did a ‘challenge the designer’ feature and it’s all about things to do in July.
And this ……
.. is one of the 5 cards I made.
Now very occasionally, we in the UK get a bit of sun and sometimes it is in July, so I thought it would be nice to make a BBQ invitation (we do have BBQ’s occasionally!!!). This is such an easy peasy card to make and as the sun is sort of shining at the mo (not sure for how long lol xxx) it seemed appropriate to share this one today.
To make the apron template, I cut a piece of paper the same size as my card blank, then I folded it in half lengthways. I cut away a curved bit at the top and then opened it out again. This makes sure that both sides are exactly the same, if that makes sense. So this was my template and I then laid it on top of my card blank, pencilled in the curved bits then cut them out.
I wanted to make the apron look like one of them there chef’s or butcher's aprons so I used navy card and then just glued white strips of card onto it – seeeemples!!! I stamped Lili Of The Vally’s Top Chef onto some white card (fab image!!) and then matted it onto some navy card and glued it all to to the front on 3 sides only – so this is the pocket. Then I just made a quick tag and popped it into the pocket.
What do ya think peeps?
I reckon you could use this for all sorts of occasions just by changing the colours and the image etc.
I’m off now to do the Papermill Shop run cos it’s card club tomorrow and I need some bits and bobs. Then we’re off on our bikes later cos time is running out and the holiday is looming and there is still plenty of blubber which needs to go (not a single solitary pound has been shifted this week and mostly I have stuck to it - grrrrr!!)
Have a great weekend and if you are BBQ-ing, hopefully the sun will stay shining for you.
Huggiest of hugs xxx
