It’s ‘blinging’ gorge!!!

So I’ve gone for a little shaped card base number here and my things with wings are the two pretty lil angels. This is Musical Christmas and it’s one of the new Lili Of The Valley releases.

It was coloured with Copics in these colours -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E41, E42, E50 (hair), B0000, B000, B00, B02, C00. C1, C3, E40, E42 (the rest).

And there is a hint of polychromos pencilling here and there … but not much today peeps.

The pretty paper which you can only just see cos I seem to have covered most of it up (doh!!) is from the Heavenly Collection over at Nitwits

 

I found some tulle lurking about so I thought I’d stick some on and then give it a bit of extra  oomph with a sparkly button which you can get from The Ribbon Girl

And you can get  this pretty 25mm white flat lace  from The Ribbon Girl as well :)

I just stuck a strip of DST to the back of the card and then gathered up the lace and pressed it down – no stitching involved whatsoever!!

The old Magnolia leaf and swirl die has appeared again and this time there’s two of them!! I quite like the way it frames the card and I thought they looked a bit like wings as well.

And there we are all done.

White Rabbit??????

I’m late, I’m late …….

… so more like a  white rabbit than a pink piggy today!!!

But late or not I hope you are all OK and that you had a great weekend and firstly to all our sisters and brothers in America, I was thinking of you all yesterday – more in a sec.

Well this should have been on here on Friday but events over took me. Never mind, we’re here now and it’s actually my card for this week’s Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge which this week is a sketch by our Bev which I flipped ….

… like this!!

I used this sweet Tilda (Santa’s Little Helper which you can get from Simon Says Stamp )  and coloured her with these Copics -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E41, E42, E50 (hair), R17, R27, R89

plus a dashing of polychromos and I have to say that IRL, the shading doesn't look patchy like it does on here (honestly!!)

All the papers are Pink Petticoat

I made a rolled rose and added some Wild Orchid Crafts holly leaves and also a double border made with the old faithful  Tilda Lace Die as well :)

So that’s the card done :)

Yesterday brought back a lot of awful memories I’m sure for a lot of people and especially our friends in the US and Richard and I were talking about how in some respects it seems like longer than 10 years but in other it doesn’t seem like 5 minutes. It’s an iconic moment in our history and we all remember where we were when it happened.

We watched it live as I worked from the office back then and somebody had gotten a phone call from home to tell them what had happened and for us to switch on the news.  I’m not 100% sure now but  I don’t think the second plane had hit when we first switched on. I still cannot comprehend the unspeakable act of pure evil that we saw that day. It was like something out of Independence Day except this was real.  And how do you go back to your desk and try to work after witnessing  the deaths of so many people?  You cannot and I felt sick to my stomach for a long time after. I don't know how the good people of New York managed to pick themselves up after it but to their great credit, they did.

I will go there one day and pay my respects in person for sure.

See you tomoz and hopefully I’ll be on time!!!!

A Sweet Pink Pretty :)

Hi peeps and hope all is well.

It’s a bit of a  quickie today as I have shed loads of stuff to get through before the day is done and I bet there won’t be enough hours for sure!!

So today over at Papertake Weekly it’s the first one of the month and we have our usual

Anything Goes challenge.

This month our optional extra is to use a shaped card….  but I didn’t!!!

This is what I did and I used one of the new LOTV releases which you can see here and they are OUT NOW, woohoooooo

This is Milly Winter Window and I coloured her with Copics and polychromos. The Copics I used are -

E000, E00, E21, R20 (skin), e42, e50 (hair), C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, E000, E40, E43, G99, R85, RV0000, RV000, RV000, YG0000, YG03 (the rest).

Both papers are from Nitwits

This beautiful ribbon is  50mm pink twinkle sheer organza from The Ribbon Girl and I topped it off with a sparkly button

An array of bloomage from the one and only Wild Orchid Crafts – all so pretty :)

Don’t the pink flowers look nice against the dark green leaves peeps.

A Pair of Lil Sweeties For Ya xxx

 

Morning peeps and happy Sunday to all and I hope you are all enjoying the weekend :)

Today I have another sneakie peekie for you from the new  Lili Of The Valley release – 3 more days and they’ll be here, wooohooo!!

And here’s the old card.

The image I used here is called Fishing Buddies – it’s gorgeous and I know at least one little girl who would love this as she had her eye on it when I was making it.

So it’s almost back to my usual CAS style – well almost, but there are one or 10 embellies lol!!!. I went for cooler colours but they are also quite modern and fresh looking which I like. And of course the old Copics got in on the act didn't they – well how could they not lol!!

And these are what I used …

E000, E00, E21 (skin), E50 (hair), BG10, BV0000,BV000, BV00, BV02, BV13, C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, Y08, Y11 (the rest) and I also added polychomos shading today just to deepen it here and there.

I made a complete cods of the snowflakes on the image I must confess and I am just not happy with the way I did them. What a nitwit!! And speaking of which, that’s where the papers came from lol!!!

The image was stamped onto a wonky rectangle nestie which I got from Tracy at Dies To Die For.

Ohhh they’re  back!!

The Magnolia leaf and swirl and Tilda Lace Die are here again – just cos I love ‘em sooo much. And I also love that pretty gingham ribbon as well. It’s 15mm orchid no 910 small check  which is from The Ribbon Girl, as is the sparkly button.

The snowflakes were made using a Marianne Design Creatables - Snowflakes Style 1 die which you can get from Dies To Die For. I coloured the larger one with Copics BV0000 , layered a smaller one on top and then finished it off with a self adhesive rhinestone from Wild Orchid Crafts.

What Happened To CAS Miss Piggy?????

Morning peeps and hope the weekend is going well for everyone.

As promised yesterday, I have a little sneak peek  to share of one of the new Lili Of The Valley  ‘A Very Girlie Christmas’ releases which are going to be with you soon as soon.  The DT have all been giving you little tasters and I’m sure you’ve all picked your faves by now and are waiting for the 6th so you can get your mitts on them .

So today I am going to introduce you to Little Holly….

… and here she is.

Now not at all like me I’m sure you’ll agree cos this card is a bit removed from my usual CAS style. BUT I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. For once, I had no clues what I was going to do when I sat down to make it and it sort of evolved. I only knew that I wanted to use traditional colours.

I coloured her with Copics and these are the shades I used -

E000, E00, E21 (skin), E42, E50 (hair), G99, R15, R17, R27, R59, Y0000, Y00, Y17, Y38, YG0000, YG03 (the rest).

No polychromos pencilling today – just the good old bad boys :)

The papers are  by Nitwits and are from the Simple Joys collection. I just HAD to get me this collection after seeing our lovely Mummy Fairy’s stunner of a commission in this month’s Papercraft Essentials magazine. Jak, your work never ever fails to blow me away and your colouring skills are amazing.

I can only dream, cry cry!!!

Do you like the little scroll?

I made it using the Grunge Music stamp which is one of the Lili Of The Valley Additions Clear Stamps. You can see it here. I heat embossed it using a glittery gold powder and I also used it for the little bit that’s peeping out from behind the image. I heat embossed that piece with an antique gold powder then slightly distressed the edges.

I made a bit of a hash of curling it (you probably noticed lol!!) as I’d used 160gsm paper and it’s a tad too thick, so if I did this again, I’d go for thinner stuff – 120gsm or thereabouts..

Another one of me arrangements here.

Everything here is from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used ivy leaves, holly leaves, red berries, long stem stamens and a gorgeous 45mm curly wild rose in red.

 

So there you have it – all done, and I quite like this posting on a Saturday malarky :)

Going Round In Circles

Hi chicksies and for once I’m not talking about me – although now you come to mention it …….

But anyhoos it’s Friday, the best day of the week, woohooooo :) The weekend is almost here and time to head on over to the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and check out what’s going on there. As its the first one of the month. it’s our special challenge so it’s an

week with of course an optional extra. And this week our Jacqui is our hostess with the most-est (and she is indeed) and she has set the option as circles so you just need to add something round to your work –  simples!!!

We are sponsored by the marvellous peeps over the water …

…. and of course there is a yummy voucher for one lucky girlie to spend in the shop.

So this is what I did – a round card to fit the optional extra plus some spotty DP as well lurking furtively  in the background plus a round button embellie on the bloom – more in secondo :)

I went for a little hAnglar girl this week and this one is from the Attitude kit which you can see here.

I used the Copics/ polywollydoodah combi and these are the colours -

E000, E00, E21, R11, R20 (skin), E41, E42, E50 (hair), C5, E000, E50, R85, RV0000, RV000. RV00 (the rest)

Once again I used a couple of Nitwits papers (there’s a sale on at the mo so check it out me luvvies xxx) and I even paper pieced her frock!! This was because I am running low on inks and I’m praying that the refills arrive today – note to me to not leave it until the last minute next time!!!

The card base was made using my new best friend, the Grand Calibur and some circle and scalloped circle dies (this machine embosses like nobodies business).

Now I have to tell you that I did something here for the first time.

No, not made a mistake cos that’s never gonna happen is it  - well at least I’m honest lol!! No, I decided that instead of using paper, I’d make the bloom from felt (I am working on some stuff at the mo which sort of inspired me), and I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

I used some Autumn Sunset Wool Felt bits which are from The Ribbon Girl and the die set I used is Marianne Design Creatables - Flower and Leaves which you can get from Tracy at Dies To Die For.

Did you notice that just for a change I added a swirl from the Magnolia leaf and swirl set and got the old Tilda Lace Die out again?

So that’s me card done and I’ll say toodle pip and go and do some work – boooo hisssss.

Festive Fairy – She’ll Be Here Soon :)

Hi there sweet peeps and hope all is well in your world today :)

The snotting and sniffing is still there but is reducing so things are in the up I feel. I’m still coughing like a good ‘un but even that isn't as bad as it was, thankfully

So after our little 2 week break, the Lili Of The Valley Thursday challenge gang are back and some of the DT are giving you little sneakies of the  2nd Christmas Release from Lili of the Valley which will be on sale on the website from the 6th September. Also, the Lili of the Valleys Ideas to Inspire blog  are featuring the new releases as well so if you want to see what’ coming next, nip and check it all out.

So we are back with the challenges and as always, the lovely Lisa and Laila have given a £10 voucher to spend itn the shop …

… and our challenge this week is a sketch by our very own Pops.

And here it is :)

I loved this sketch and will use it again most deffo.

 

So here’s what I did with it – no tinkering today, I just stuck to it as it is :)

I used Festive Fairy and as per the above, she will be available on 6th September, so not long to go now (I put an extra big pic of her at the top so you can see all the lovely detail in the image).

I did the Copics thing and used these colours -

E000, E00, E21, R20 (skin), E41, E42, E50 (hair), B0000, B00, B02, C00, C1,, C3, C5, YG000, YG01. YG03  (the rest)

and then I added some deets with polychromos pencils.

The papers are all from Nitwits.

An elaborate little deccie here :)

I used a large and medium retro punch and topped it off with a blingy bloom that I found in the ribbon box!! The beautiful 40mm white cotton lace is from The Ribbon Girl and the ivy leaves and red berries are both from Wild Orchid Crafts.

So there we are all done.

One of these days I’ll put a tutorial on here  to show how to make those embellies – trust me, if I did it now with all the coughing and spluttering, it would put you off your food quite frankly!!!!
