Sometimes I Just Don’t Look!!!!!

Picture 003 copy

Morning peeps and it’s a short week this week (and a bit of a short post today), so we’ll kick it off with another challenge over at Papertake Weekly.

This week it’s

Just The One

and you can either use just one of everything ie paper, blooms etc or you can stick with one colour which is what I did.

Picture 001 copy copy

I went for a sort of aqua colour and even though this Tilda is from a Christmas set, she is fine to use for birthdays I think. So I gave her the Copics treatment and used these colours -

BG0000, BG10, BG15, E0000, E00, E21, E42, E50, R11. R20

then I sprinkled her with Glamour Dust .

I could have just rubbed the card over the patio cos despite the rain and wind, it’s still twinkling merrily :)

Picture 003 copy

The beautiful blooms and stamens are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and the tiny roses  started out as white but I dabbed them with one of me  Copics so that they matched.

You can’t really see from the pic but they have all been dabbed with Stickles as well.

pearls

The self adhesive pearls are all from Wild Orchid Crafts as well and they really are the prettiest colours

image

The papers are just delish – they are from the new My Minds Eye Stomp paper pad which you can get from Dies To Die For. This pic does not do them justice because they are such awesome quality and the colours are gorgeous.

Picture 003paper

Now the title of this post is ‘Sometimes I Just Don’t Look’ and this is why.

See these Nellies Multi Frame rectangles here …….?

image

Well I have had them for a while but I only noticed the little bit in the middle yesterday.

Dohhhhh again!!!!

So I used it to put the sentiment on which was done on the ‘puter and printed onto Safmat :) These bad boys are available from Tracy at Dies To Die For as is the eyelet lace punch I used for the border.

Picture 004 copy

So that’s the card done and I’m off because I have a list of stuff to do that is as long as my arm and I just have to keep plodding through it until it’s all done. Have a great day lovely peepers and see you soon.

Huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Something To Share

Morning peeps and hope everyone is OK and having a good BH xxx

I’ve posted this on the wild Orchid Crafts blog but thought I’d share it here as well. I think this is the bloggy equivalent of my ‘phone voice’ cos I was on my best behaviour when I posted it lol !!!

……….

I thought I’d share this gift wallet which I made for my daughter to give to her friend who is getting married at the weekend.

They are giving money as their wedding gift but didn’t want to just put it into the card so she asked me to make something for her and this is what I did.

image

It’s simply made from a sheet of A4 card on which I’d printed Pink Petticoat Pretty Little Hearts.

I used Gold solid on one side and the negative image on the other (which is the inside of the wallet). Then I used the positive image for the outside.

I folded it into 3,  taped the bottom section on the 2 outer edges then decorated it.

image

The beautiful blooms and embellishments I used were  ……

image

35mm Wild Rose in yellow which I then Glimmer Misted

 image

White Heather Stems which are new in and are of course to symbolise good luck

image

8mm semi-open roses, again in yellow

image

White Pearl Stamens

image

Pearlescent Gold Head Pins

image

5mm Brown Self Adhesive Pearls

You could co-ordinate this to match your wedding card and easily adapt it to hold gift vouchers etc.

And by using poinsettias and seasonal embellishments, it would be fab for Christmas.

Have a great day and happy crafting xxx

What A Total Numptie :(o

image

Hi peeps and hope you are all OK xxx

Sometimes I surprise even myself with my general dippiness but yesterday I could not believe what I’d done when I was making this card.

More in a sec!!

But first, woohoo it’s Friday and the weekend starts here – well almost!!! So as always, it’s time to kick it all off with a challenge from the Tilda-tastic Just Magnolia girlies.

And this week we have a little piggy sketcheroonie for you …

sketch

… and it is this bad boy.

The JM girls have once again weaved their magic with it and as always have come up trumps with some fantabulous work, so if you get a sec do nip and have a nosey.

card

And this is what I did with it.

I thought I’d do it a bit different today so I’ve done the shopping list at the end along with a linked pic of what I used – hope this helps xxx

bloom1

Making this arrangement is when I went into numptie mode!!! Must have been cos I was inking the edges – I don’t usually do that!!!!

text

I stuck a tiny bead in the centre of each of the pearl star beads -  I rather like it!!!

Picture 004 copy

So that’s the old card.

It is a bit different for me I must admit but I was quite pleased with how it turned out. And given that it almost ended in disaster, it was a relief that it didn't all fall apart when I lifted it up.

So what happened was that my new Wild Orchid Crafts DT kit arrived and as always it was chock full of yumminess and I just could not resist having a fiddle. So I chose the flowers and arranged them on top of the card as I always do before sticking them down, and one I was happy, out came the silicone glue. I got it all stuck down then as I moved it, I realised that the other elements ie the image and paper panels etc hadn't been stuck down, only placed into position. So I had to get a cocktail stick and carefully poke glue under each piece taking care not to disturb anything.

What a flamin plonker!!!!

And  I’d already had one mishap earlier.

I’d been doing a class and the lid to my big tub of Glamour Dust hadn't been put back on properly. Yes, you guessed it!! I only realised when I got home and was unpacking and out came a very shiny paper trimmer, a twinkly Cuttlebug, glittering tools and scissors etc. And then the bag itself was covered!! So I took it outside and gave it a shake and then I was covered (now I know how the poor cat feels!!) .  Oh my life, how hard is that stuff to get off – grrr. Last night I went to Emma's and came back about 9.30-ish, just as Richard was getting in from work , and we noticed that our patio was just completely twinkling under the security light!!

It was disco-tastic!!!  We only need a glitter ball hanging from one of the trees and you’d think you were in Stringfellows lol!!!

Right I’m off but before I go I have to say a huge thank you to Janey for giving me this fab award xxx I did have a wry smile because she said she gave it to me cos, and I quote,  ‘just because she  can use flowers like no one else’. Yes chick, I guess it’s true – most people put their cards together and add the flowers last, not build their card around them!!!

It’s lovely hunny and thank you for thinking about me xxx

So I’ll leave you with the shopping – click on the pics and it will take you to the very place where you can get them!!)

Have a great day and hugs to all xxx

OK, want to go shopping?

Dies To Die For -

Copic Ciao 36 set C

Ooops, fuzzy Copics!!!

I used the following colours -

E0000, E00, E21, E35, E42, E50, R11, R20, W00, Y0000, Y00, Y02, Y11, YG00, YG02

The paper is also from Tracy but I need to check which one it is – sorry peeps. I THINK it’s  a new one from The Paper Company but I’ll let you know (yet more dippiness!!).

Going Dotty!!!!

1

Hi peeps and hope that you are all OK xx

I had a complete mare trying to get a decent pic of this card and to be honest, I thinkI faffed about so much that I put myself off it. IRL it’s really quite nice but it does look pants here so apols :( xxx

It’s my card for this week’s Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge and this week it’s all about

Going Dotty For Circles

Well I am certainly a bit dotty so this one was right up my street!!!

If you want to see lots of loveliness, please do nip and check out the challenge and if you feel like going dotty with us. you could win a £10 voucher to spend over at the Lili Of The Valley shop :)

Picture 001 copy

This is what I did.

I did a cheaty thing again and used a die cut and then cut round it and added some bling – very simple and fabulous for a super quick Chrimbly card.

I went on an expedition into my craft room and dug out my poor neglected old Cricut to make the card base and the red circle. My God, I barely got out alive, there is so much stuff in there. I need a serious sort out.

Again!!!

Anyhoos, then I added a white scalloped nestie circle and finally a regular nestie circle cut from one of my fave Pink Petticoat Christmas collections – Fairy Lights.

I went a bit mad with the gorgeous self adhesive pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts – you probably noticed – but they are just sooooo fabulous!!!

Picture 003 copy

And a Lili Of The Valley sentiment and some bits of stash ribbon to finish off and it’s all done!!!

It’s another quickie today chickadees but I’ll be back in the morrow with something Magnolia-licious!!! But before I go, look at what I got ….

… woohooo how fabulous.

I got this from one of the sweetest and nicest bloglies ever (and she makes some pretty darn fab cards as well!!),  the very wonderful Sally Bee. Thank you for this chick xxxx – I am so chuffed to get it.

And on that nice note, I am off to get stuck into some more stuff (if I can keep my eyes open cos I am sooooooooo tired today). Have a good day lovely peeps and see ya tomoz.

Cookin’ With The Papertake Crew :)

Picture 009image

Hi peeps and hope that  everyone is ok xxx

We have a recipe for you today over at Papertake Weekly and it’s a

3, 2, 1

kind of recipe!!

We want you to use 3 of one item, 2 of another and 1 of something else. What you use is up to you and as always the DT have some amazing work to share so if you get a sec, nip over and check it out lovely peeps :)

I used this sweet Tilda image and coloured her with these  Copics -

E00, E21, E35, E42, E52, T11, R220, YG0000, YG03 W00

Picture 009 copy copy

And this is my card.

It’s another easel card but I cut the bottom panel a bit shorter and used a die cut circle for the top bit (sorry for being so technical lol !!)

So my 3, 2,  1 are …..

bloom

3 Glimmer Misted, beautiful blooms  (Wild Orchid Crafts)  ….

Picture 010 copy

2 papers (Nitwits Perfect Pair)  ….

Picture 007 copy copy

and 1 Tilda-tastic image!!

I also used a Martha Stewart Deep Edger Border Punch - Flower Bed which is available from Dies To Die For, some gorgeous pale green self adhesive pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts and that lovely ‘just for you’ sentiment ribbon is a newbie from Liz at Pink Petticoat – I just LURRRRVE it!!

Well what rotten weather we had yesterday. The rain was actually bouncing here at one point and I gather that it was pretty much the same throughout the UK. I am thinking that summer has deserted us. I was kind of hoping that the Bank Holiday weekend might bring us a bit of sunshine but I am not holding out much hope.  That said, I haven't heard the forecast so you hever know!!! It’s Richard’s birthday on Sunday so we are hoping to have a  sort of ‘Tapas & Wii’ evening, which does sound all kinds of wrong I grant you but it might be a laugh!!!

Yes, we are a total bunch of saddos, it is true, I cannot tell a lie!! And soooooooooo rock and roll with it!!!!

If there are no incriminating photos, I might share next week, heehee!!!!

And on that note I am off to do a bit. Have a great day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Bo’s Not Just A Pretty Face Then!!!

text

She was also quite smart as well it would seem!!!!

Picture 004 copy

Our challenge today over with the Just Magnolia girlies is

Let’s Get Sentimental

so that’s the quote I used – I thought it went well with Miss Shopping Tilda. If you get a sec peeps, check out the challenge because there really are some absolute beauties today, including a quote from Kathy which made me cry, it is so lovely.

Plus ….

DTDFvoucher[3]…  there’s a fab prize courtesy of the fabulous Tracy

Now I’ve got a bit of an experiment for you here lol xxx I did my card, took the pic then couldn’t decide if  it needed something else.

So …

Picture 001 copy

This is the ‘before’  pic -

Picture 001 copy copy

- and this is the ‘after’.

Now I can’t decide which one I prefer really. What do you think peeps – with our without the embellies?

Anyway I coloured the image with me Copics of course, and talking of Copics, our Dena has done an amazing card which was inspired by the work on this amazing blog. Now this lady can REALLY work those Copics!!!!

Colours used were -

B0000, B00, BG01, BV0000, BV00, BV02, BV13, BV31, C00, C1, C3, E00, E21, E37, E42, E50, R11, R20

and of course they are available from Dies To Die For

Picture 004 copy

The beautiful blooms and pearl sprays are all courtesy of the wonderful Paul & Siri at Wild Orchid Crafts and the gorge papers are, yes you guessed it, Vintage Rose from the also very wonderful Liz at Pink Petticoat.

I cannot stop using them :)

border

It would seem that I cannot stop signs this little sweetie either. Its me new Magnolia Old Swedish Lace which I got from  Crafts U Love – and such speedy delivery as well!!

Fabulous!!!

Picture 005 copy

Soz about the lighting on these pics today peeps. The weather is atrocious here – it’s probably the same where you are as well. The light is awful and despite having a brilliant white background on my light box thing, all the pics are turning out with  a bit of a ‘50 fags a day’  look about them :(grrrrr!!

Well the new puter didn't get put up last night as a) Emma and Kyla came round and b)  R was busy shooting tin cans on the Wii. He keeps trying to better his score and has that ultra competitive mentality that sportsmen have. Quite frankly,  I think he could become obsessed and I’ll be sleeping with one eye open if he carries on lol !!!  I’ve unpacked it all and hoovered up the corner where the old decrepit one was, and no, I am not talking about Richard ‘Wii age of 83’ May here!!!  So I’ll set it all up  and sort it out later – hopefully!!!!

Emma is off the ‘V’ today so we have the pleasure of her ladyship all weekend :) Em thinks she has one more festival left in her and then she is going to hang up her pink and flowery wellies for good, bless her. We’ll see!! We are planning to do lots but it’s all dependant upon the weather of course.

So on that note I’m off to do some work - enjoy the weekend and see ya soon.

Hugs to all xxx

Woooohoooooo, They’re Here !!!

Picture 005 copy copy

Hi peeps and hope everyone is OK.

At last, the gorgeous new  Lili Of The Valley images have been released and are now available to buy.

Christmas Stamps Advert

Fantastic 'Back to School' Stamps also out now!

Now are they sweet or are they SWEET!!!!!!!

And as it’s Thursday, we have a new challenge for you over at the Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge and this week we have another fabulous sketch by our Bev and  Lili of the Valley are offering  a £10 voucher to be spent on the website. So if you win, you could bag yourself some of  the new images.

lotvsketch

So here’s the sketch …

Picture 001 copy copy

… and here’s me card.

I love doing  easel cards but I never seem to be able to get a decent pic of them. I look around the land of blog and see some fab shots of them, but when I  try and set up the card so it sits at the same angle etc, it never works. Grrrrr!!!

Anyway I thought as I’d done a girlie back to school card, I’d better get one done for a boy –  mustn’t  be sexist lol xxx – so this is one for my great nephew who is starting school as well.

The image is of course LOTV and I used the following Copics which you can get from Tracy at Dies To Die For -

B0000, B00, B12, BG05, C00, C1, C3, C5, E00, E21, E33, E42, E50, R11, R20, YR0000

Picture 004 copy

The papers are of course the fabulous Vintage Rose from Pink Petticoat and the punch is of course one of Martha's. It’s the embossed zig zag and I like this for male cards. The teeny self adhesive pearls are of course from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I did the sentiment on the old ‘puter -the new one is arriving today (allegedly) woooohoooooooo!!!!

Now if you stick your heads out of your windows at about 5pm this evening and it’s quiet, you will know that the setting up went OK!!!! Rich and I really are dumb and dumber (not sure which one is which!!) when it comes to techie stuff and I still marvel at the fact that I managed to set up me blog.

Picture 001 copy

Here’s another angle.

Maybe this one looks better that the one at the top? Oh well, I’ll keep trying and maybe one day I will manage to put an easel card pic on here that I actually like.

We got one of them Wii consoles last Friday and I tell you, the fun we have had with it!! I wish we’d got one years ago. Car Phone Warehouse had them as a giveaway if you got a new contract phone (they have TVs and laptops as well) and as Richard’s phone was knackered, we were in the right place at the right time for the offer.

We bought a balance board and the Wii Fit Plus stuff as well but how rude is that flamin’ board!!! I stood on it, put in my height and date of birth, it weighed me and then calculated my BMI (you don't want to know!!) and then it told me that my Wii ages was 61. Well I could have cheerfully chucked it through the window. R was laughing his head off until he got on it and he is worse than me. His BMI is higher and his Wii ages is 83!!!!!.

Waaaaaaahhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

Laugh? I nearly peed my pants!!!! I am a mere Wii spring chicken next to him!!!

Kyla has been doing that dance one where you have to copy what is happening on the screen and it gives you points if you get it right. She is quite good I have to say but they play it at holiday club so she has probably had more practice (not that I am bitter at getting beat by a 4 year old!!). R came home on Sunday and Emma, Nicola, Kyla and I were all at it. We made him join in as well but he was just being Disco Dickie and doing his own moves, bless him.

Still at least he had ago.

I realise as I am typing that that you must get the impression that our house is a bit mad, and you would be right lol :).

And on that note, I’m off.

Have a great day, I’ll see you in the morrow with a bit of Tilda cardage and hugs to all xxxx
